I couldn't be bothered using the dualshock handset just to watch videos, so this is really the only sensible option, looking at what's available.It didn't come with the necessary 2 AAA batteries, which was annoying, but it was fairly easy to set up with the enclosed instructions and is pretty small.I didn't see any instructions as to what the buttons do, but eventually worked out that circle is play/pause. There's no eject button and after I shut down the PS4 without logging out properly, this handset wouldn't restart it, so I then had to use the dualshock to kickstart it.It's pretty good, but not perfect, hence the 4 stars, but it's still fairly cheap.

I got this little gadget on prime day as a deal. I originally wanted the more expensive remote with more buttons but after seeing this one on offer I thought I'd take a chance. I'm so glad I did. When it arrived it looked more expensive than I was expecting. The buttons had a nice click to them and after reading the instructions I found it easy to pair. It's ease of use is also a bonus as it's not too complicated to use for members of the household not used to games consoles. Would recommend to anyone who is after a cheap and reliable remote. I also haven't had any problems with it disconnecting from the PlayStation.

I don't know how I managed before this lovely, little, remote. Works perfectly, leaving my PS4 controller plugged in to recharge. No more worrying about accidentally touching the controller (or one of my dogs knocking it), whilst watching a bluray. Which really got on my nerves.One thing to add, I've been using it for a few months now, on and off, and it's still got plenty of life in the batteries. It 'goes to sleep', when not in use, but wakes up on pressing the 'P' button, when you want to use it, instantly.Perfect.

Does it's job perfectly. Took a minute or so for the PlayStation to recognise and you must use a Dualshock controller to initially pair the device.Gave my original PS4 to my parents, after upgrading to the Pro, to use as a media platform and appreciated they would find a traditional remote easier to use than a typical controller. The remote feels solid, with clicky buttons and an easy to understand layout.No problems with staying paired to the Playstation as some have reported.

Little bit of a faff to set up but everything is clear in the instructions.Batteries will need to be bought separately, I've gone for rechargeable AAA as I heard the batteries are used up quickly on these.Connects well, works perfectly and I hear its much better than the official one which takes a few seconds to wake when pressed after a while, this is almost instant.Very satisfied, I bought a second when I thought I'd lost my first, found it and now have two. Still happy!

The remote is easy to use and works well with my PS4! Setup is a bit complicated but once that's done it's really convenient to use and far better than using the PS4 controller for watching content. All it needs are 2 AAA batteries. The only bug I have experienced is that the controller stopped working a few times, but this was sorted by unpairing/repairing the controller to the PS4.Overall, I'm very impressed and think this is well worth the money for an official accessory.

I’ve been after a Media remote for my PS4 since getting it. Didn’t really want to get an unofficial one but finally took the plunge after reading the reviews for this one. Couldn’t be happier, took seconds to pair up and works flawlessly. It doesn’t look like Sony are gonna bother making one so I highly recommend this one. If I had to find any criticism, it’d only be that batteries (2xAAA) weren’t included.

Works exactly as advertised. After a while remote goes to sleep but wakes up immediately as soon as you press a button and you don't get a nasty "controller disconnected" pop-up on PS4 where with a game controller, you do get that, taking you out of the viewing experience. So for watching Netflix, Youtube and the likes, this is perfect!

I had this remote for a while now and it still works perfectly fine. I bought the amazon batteries to go with it (pack of 20).I got this as a Christmas gift and so far had to replace the batteries once (in July).Practical to use if you just want to watch some netflix or youtube on your ps4 so you don't have to use the controller.

This really is well worth the buy, I use this to watch Sky and it makes life a lot easier. My other half refuses to use the controller to navigate, now she can use this instead! The quality of the remote is brilliant also, it feels solid, a perfect weight and doesn't feel like a light cheap plastic remote you get these days..

The remote is great for watching DVDs/Blu-Rays on the PS4, much easier than using a controller. But, as other reviewers have mentioned, it devours batteries. Basic supermarket AAAs typically last about 2 weeks. It's a good idea to remove them if you aren't using the remote much, as they will drain over time.

Batteries last only about a monthUPDATE: On your PS4 go to setting, and select the option that auto shutsdown controllers after 10 mins inactivity. Battery lasts for ages, put some in 6 minths ago and still showing over 1/2 left. Previously lasted a month.Have updated score to reflect this :)

The quality is very good. It’s great to use this remote rather than a control pad especially when I kept putting the control pad down and skipping music accidentally by knocking the R1 and R2 buttons.The only downside is 2 AA batteries lasted just less than a month with light usage.

Great little remote does everything you can do with the control pads but I personally think its easier using the remote, like other reviews have said batteries don't last long 1st set lasted exactly 2months BUT I get my batteries in the local £1 shop - 12 for a quid so problem solved.

When watching the likes of Netflix or movies through your PS4 using the PS4 controller doesn’t always feel the most comfortable of methods.This remote hits the spot exactly where required. Looks great, feels great and works great.Great packaging and easy setup.
