This is a basic technical review of the Patriot SuperSonic Rage 2 (128GB variant)Real capacity (after exFat format): 117GBNote that the model I received from the seller "GadgetLifestyle" had a more muted black and white look for the writing than the advertised pictures. I'm not complaining.--Write speeds from personal use --Hardware: NVMe M.2 SSD PCIe Gen3,35GB UHD HDR mkv file from hard drive: ~ 90 MB/s2.5 GB mp4 from hard drive ~ 40 MB/s2.5 GB mp4 from SSD 273 MB/s-- Benchmark --the benchmark obtained on my system can be found here: http://usbflashspeed.com/335612:To summarise the tested speeds areRead: 286.36 MB/sWrite: 356.06 MB/sIn practice you will get much slower speeds, but definitely faster than regular USB sticks or MicroSD cards.~~ Conclusion ~~for the £37 I spent for it, it is perfectly capable, compact and practical. better than all but a few MicroSD cards, great for quickly copying large files such as movies across to one's TV. It's still slower than an external SSD, but it is generally more portable. In stick form, you may get better performance from the Sandisk Extreme or Corsair Voyager ranges. Expect to pay double the price however, and you may only see a real improvement when copying FROM an already fast storage such as an SSD.NOTE: to take advantage of these speeds you must:- be copying FROM a fast storage medium such as an SSD- be using a USB 3.0 port, USB 2.0 is dead slow- be copying few large files rather than many small ones i.e. >100MB.

I can't vouch for the USB 3.0 performance but here is my view on USB 2.0 performance using WIN 7 with a 2.4 ghz processor:1) Using two seperate 700mb files I got 19.2-20 mb write speeds and 29-32 mb read speeds. A full 10mb faster than the patriot xt speedboost model I upgraded from. Similar times from a 1.6gb file too that I tested.2) The size is pretty small. It shaved 25% off the length of the patriot xt speedboost model. The cap is held on by friction so make sure to wipe it clean from dust and grime from time to time and it should stay on pretty solidly.3) For around the £20-£30 price range you can't go wrong with this flash drive. I was considering the Kingston DTSE9H for £15.99 until I saw reviews about the horrible sub-5mb write speeds. Also the HPv210w for £20 but thought i'd pay extra for the speed this one provides. I heard good stuff about Supertalent drives but all I checked paled in comparison to Patriot drives size for size and for price ranges. In conclusion it's an absolute fantastic drive for the price. Yes it is more expensive than other drives around the same size but its really worth the extra £££ for the quality and speed/performance it delivers. From the other review about the USB 3.0 performance I can't wait to utilise it when I finally do upgrade to USB 3.0.

I received mines not long after i purchased it, as amazon said expected delivery would be a week later so i am very pleased with the speed delivery.First of, this 3.0 USB drive is fantastic. I did my research a while ago before and have to say i was a bit sceptical as i have never head of Patriot. But the more i did research on this product, the more confident i was in towards buying this product. I have to say, it looks so much smaller than you would imagine in the pictures provided above. It is no bigger than your average teenage sized thumb. It's not entirely compact, but the transfer speed on this is excellent. You would expect USB drives with a USB 3.0 with high transfer rate to be slightly bigger than normal USB drives, that i do understand. It has two seperate chips which makes it high transfer rate. I am no expert but i can tell you that this PATIOT is no ordinary USB drive. As for the price, it is very decent and i am not complaining about it what so ever. If you are looking for an replacement for your USB drives, you will not be disappointed with this PATRIOT. I use mines for illustration work and this rugged protection adds an extra star.Buy one, you will not be disappointed. The transfer rates are high, depending if you have USB 3.0 on your laptop, PC, Alienware etc etc.

I have had several 'sticks' over the years and found this one to be the fastest yet for uploading speed. I regularly get an upload speed of 240mb per second with this stick, though this will depend on the type of files you upload. Lots of small files (pictures etc.) might be slower to upload than one huge file, say a film or tv programme. On formatting, the available size you get on the stick drops to around 230Gb. This drop in usable size is normal for any stick, no matter what make it is. The amount of drop will depend on the size of stick of course. Some files will upload with a big fluctuation in speed I find (40mb - 120mb per second) and the green progress graph will have a saw tooth appearance to it,but this does depend on the type of file so is a bit hit or miss really.I do recommend this stick for use overall and wouldn't go back too my smaller ones of half the capacity or less for storage. The current price of £40 is also reasonable for the size you get, along with the fast upload speed. My "best" older stick has an upload speed of around 180mb per second and is half the size at 115GB of storage ( a Supersonic Rage 2 128GB)

The item I received today tests as much faster than the advertised specifications on the packaging, particularly on write speed.Transferring a single 13GB file between desktop and flash drive:Read 202 MB/sWrite 123 MB/sNot sure if the design has been changed for the better after reading some of the other reviews? Or could be other system components affecting transfer speeds....Crystal disk mark shows similar results however the 4k small file test is much much slower in common with most USB flash drives.Build quality is very solid. Small hole on the end for a lanyard and retractable connector so no cap to lose.Overall really pleased as I will mainly be using to transfer large files and in this area you get true USB 3 speeds, especially on write speed.I've loaded some images showing read write performance and verification of the size.Purchased directly from Amazon.

Please be aware that the write speed of these USB drives varies considerably with drive capacity:From the Patriot Website:Read and Write Speeds:128GB - Up to 400MB/s Read; Up to 100MB/s Write256GB - Up to 400MB/s Read; Up to 200MB/s Write512GB - Up to 400MB/s Read; Up to 300MB/s WriteAs delivered, the 128GB drive is formatted FAT32. The actual reported (by Win7) free storage space is 115GB. Notwithstanding the usual industry fudge of calculating size by Decimal bytes rather than actual Binary bytes, this drive is approximately 4GB under specification, which Patriot Support states is used for 'memory management' without qualification as to exactly what that is.Nevertheless, this drive still represents decent value for money. Just don't buy one only to discover it won't meet your needs due to incorrect or non transparent information.

It's a decent piece of hardware. Good write speeds however not as fast as advertised.Using a USB 3.0 port, transfering 1 large 35GB MKV file, im getting between 78-95MB/s . That's not bad, in fact, it's better than most usb sticks. However it's quite a long way off 200MB/s write speed advertised. I know they'll probably say that's for USB3.1, but i think USB3.0 should've been able to pull more than maximum 100MB/s....Overall, it's a good piece of kit, if i was getting 150MB/S write speed, i would have given it 5 stars.I bought the 128GB version for £25.99 sale, which is worth it. I don't know if it was worth the full price of £39. In that price range you can probably get something better.Anyway,i know my review seems a bit doom and gloom but i am happy with it, and recommend it.

I thought not. It's not a story the Jedi would tell you. It's a Sith legend. Darth Plagueis was a Dark Lord of the Sith, so powerful and so wise he could use the Force to influence the midichlorians to create life... He had such a knowledge of the dark side that he could even keep the ones he cared about from dying. The dark side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural. He became so powerful... the only thing he was afraid of was losing his power, which eventually, of course, he did. Unfortunately, he taught his apprentice everything he knew, then his apprentice killed him in his sleep. Ironic, he could save others from death, but not himself.

I bought this to use with a travel router to carry all my movies. Loading the movies onto the stick got a steady 300+mb/s write. I have some external SSD drives from Samsung, T5 250GB & 1 TB and Sandisk 2TB SSD, but they are all massive compared to this. To have hi-speed and 512GB (461GB actual available) capacity with near SSD write and HDD read speeds, this is a great option at a good price compared to external SSD and micro SD. Added screenshots of copying movie files to and from MVME C: drive on my PC, it hold stead 300 write and 370 read from the memory stick. Crystal diskmark gives a lower reading for write that I don't see in everyday use.

I alrady had a USB2 Patriot flash drive (8GB) so I knew how fast these are and I wasn't disappointed with this USB3 version.I get 75+ MBps reading from it and crucially (because I'm using it to watch TV shows from on my media player) I get fast write speeds (around 17 to 20 MBps) so I can load it up quickly and not have to wait.It also performs well on USB 2. Although the read rate is capped by the USB port, the writes are very fast compared to other drives I have. They usually max out at 9 MBps, but this drive give around 14 MBps through a USB 2 port.Patriot seems like a good make, from my (limited) experience.

This sequential reads and writes are much faster than the Kingston Datatraveler I also have, but the 4k read is quite a bit slower, 4k writes are pretty terrible on most flash drives, but the kingston is still slightly faster. This is a very good flash drive for transferring large large files, but if you're looking for something to transfer lots of very small files, or even to be connected for a long time with files being created and deleted, you may prefer something one of the Sandisk Extreme drives, which have the 4KiB write speeds in the multiple of megabytes per second rather than under 0.1MB per second.

This is amazing. The price is ridiculously cheap! Nice sturdy rubberised outing. As for speed I’ve had no problems reading or writing as long as I use the usb 3 port but the usb 2 is ok tooThere’s faster flash drives on the market,I know I’ve got a Samsung 512Gb flash drive but at the time of buying it it cost me £160!! At £69 I can wait a little longer with this one! I mean where are we all rushing to? Our graves are the the final destination. I got around 530Gb’s from this is which is great’If you can’t wait a few minutes more you’ve got a problem and it’s not this flash drive it’s with you!!!

Got this to replace the rage 16gb usb 2 version to take advantage of my usb 3 ports on my pc. Copied a few large video files onto it and monitored the transfer speeds and getting 42mbs, which is very fast compared to the usb 2 drive which is about 25mbs. So to summarize its fast, well made got a 5 year warranty and pretty cheap too. The quad chips they use in them seem to do what they say ref speed increases. So if your in the market for a decent usb 3 drive this is one to seriously consider and Patriot ones are the best i have used to date.

Tested on a USB 3.0 Type A port and copied from a M.2 nvme Pcie drive. Bear in mind if you have a USB 2.0 port (white connector) then you'll get significantly lower speeds than I'm getting (probably about 30MB/s. Conversely, if you have a USB 3.1 port, you might get faster. This is an excellent drive. I'm getting write speeds up to 350MB/s. Excellent for transferring large files quickly. The drive itself feels pretty light next to my other high speed USB flash drive (Lexxar P20), but doesn't feel cheaply made.Highly recommended.

Wow great price and very fast drives, came highly recommended and they didn't disappoint, used for live multi track audio streaming so mission critical!Looks are good, easy to use and includes a small hole to keep on a key ring or loop, slides easily back into it's case for protection. If your after something fast & reliable , these are the ones. I'm sure there are many others but the transfer rates and the performance was great , while the build quality and ease of use was perfect.
