This was bought for a hike and camping trip so that my son could carry some of his own stuff.The bag is quite light weight with nothing in it making it ideal for children. When full it of course can get heavy but I feel like Osprey have balanced this nicely, keeping the size sensible for a child sized back allowing them to carry a few items without being overly heavy.I'd have liked some more waterproofing but an old Osprey cover I had lying around fit nicely and protected it. If the weather isn't great I'd probably put anything important in a plastic bag first though

Purchased for my 6yr old daughter to cycle into school with. She loves it. Seems to fit her well and has enough capacity for hwr lunch box and book bag and probably a bit more. Just what we needed.
