I own quite a few osprey travel bags. They’re my go to for our frequent travels. I like my porter 46 for quick trips, fairview 55 for mid length winter trips, and fairview trek 50 and 70’s for more rugged trips. This is my first bag that has both backpack straps as well as wheels. I used it for a trip that involved both air travel as well as getting around a big city with a subway. The wheels are great for the airport and it’s nice to have it just sitting there while standing in line or in the gate are without it sitting directly on the floor or needing to lean it against anything or carry it.The organization with this bag is fantastic. It opens all the way up hinge style for quick and easy packing. There are straps to keep everything in place and to compress it. The flap is one big zippered mesh pocket. I have other bags like this and I’ve found it to be a good spot to stash ziploc bags of smaller items although I do wish it was several smaller pockets rather than one big one.The outside pockets are done well on this bag. There’s a nice top pocket that can be used to keep your passport and boarding pass handy or liquids separate if you’re not using pre check. It’s not right up against the back so it’s not the best place for valuables in a tourist area but for an airport it’s good. There’s mesh pockets on the front but they’re frustrating in that they’re unusable once the cinch straps are in place. Side mesh pockets would be appreciated. As with all the osprey bags I’ve used the quality is top notch. I’ve had bags that have traveled tens of thousands of miles and have been checked as luggage many times and still look great. I’ve always washed my bags in the bathtub with woolite, even the ones with internal frames, and they come out nice and clean after air drying. I’m not sure if this will work with the wheeled bags, hoping for guidance from the company on that.I’m an average height woman with an athletic build and this bag is big and boxy for me to carry as a pack but workable. I could see the wheels being uncomfortable in the way they stick out depending on hip size. The straps tuck away neatly which is great and a feature sorely lacking on the fairview trek (although that model has an integrated pack cover). The size is a good all around size. It’s the sort of size where if you’re going to have just one larger piece this would be a good one. It’s plenty big enough for extended trips with careful packing and access to laundry facilities. It’s also good for a week to ten days of regular travel, depending on the season (fewer days when warmer, bulkier clothing is needed). That said, the handle design is not my favorite. It’s awkward even. The center design means that you have to hold it in such a way that your fingers are on either side of the center piece. This is ok for a short while but I wouldn’t want to drag it loaded down sidewalks or streets for any great distance. I think this needs to be thought of more as a travel pack that has wheels for short, occasional use for convenience. The one stem handle also means bags that are made to sit on top of your suitcase and loop over the handle when pulled up don’t work with this one.Another consideration with the wheels is that this is really isn’t carry on size and it’s not like the versions they have with detachable daypacks where you can separate the pieces and make it passable. In my experience backpacks can pass as carry on at pretty much any size as long as they’re not overstuffed (which is a big reason why I prefer them to traditional luggage). This one, with the wheels, was able to pass as carry on for me but that was a big plane on an international flight. I’m not sure I could pull that off on a domestic flight, I think it would at least be gate checked.

For me, wheeled backpacks are a bit like cars with automatic transmission. They make so much sense that as soon as you try them, you’ll be baffled that everyone else doesn’t have one.I’ve tried at least 8 different backpacks whilst long-term backpacking and having the wheeled osprey has been a revelation.I bought this fairview for my girlfriend after she loved my wheeled farpoint and it’s no exaggeration to say it’s changed our travelling lives. I do have back problems though and so this was an obvious benefit.Osprey’s fastenings are of such good quality that even when stretched to what seems breaking point, the seams and zips hold true and show no signs of weakness. At first I was a little unhappy with the shape of the bed on the inside, which because of the wheel/ handle mechanism is shaped at quite an extreme curve inwards. This therefore uses up a chunk of your useable packing space. However for a 65L backpack, the fairview (and farpoint) seem so much more spacious than that, and we can still easily fit all of our luggage in. I also love the top pocket which is good either for quick access items or dirty trainers or underwear that you might want to keep separate. It goes without saying that the best feature of the backpack is the wheels. In reality unless you care so much about looking like an authentic traveller that you snear at the idea of wheeled luggage, it’s possible to wheel a backpack 90% of the time. The only occasions where we’ve needed to put them on our backs are in beaches when looking for accommodation and getting off boats where we’ve needed to wade to shore. That’s 90% of lovely, back-friendly easy wheeling and it’s a game changer for us.When in our backs, they sit quite high and I keep meaning to ask osprey if there is an adjustment that I’m missing to lower the pack but even despite this, I find it surprisingly comfortable.I think if you are considering a wheeled backpack then you are already there and you will not be disappointed.

The luggage is very practical for longer travels - I just came back from Asia and was mainly very satisfied. The wheels are very good, big enough and "hard-soft" enough - so it goes easily also through a bit uneven terrain and it doesn't make unpleasant noises on hard terrain ;) The inside space has good sections so you can divide it practically and find things you use more often very easily. It still was good idea to buy small inside covers to separate items better. Only thing I'm a bit hesitant is the way the system of backpack straps is created (the backpack system itself is done very well - it sits well on the back so you can carry it longer also), but you need to open it from bottom of the backpack towards up.So if you want to do it on the street you need to put whole laggauge on the "floor" that might be dirty and also bottom of your backpack can already be a bit dirty. It just needs to find own way how to do it fast and without feeling of dirty hands ;) Anyhow finally, wheels were so good on difficult terrain that I almost didn't use the luggage as a backpack. And one more things - what is not a problem, just to be aware of - that because of wheel system luggage looks a bit bigger that others 65 litres backpacks ;) but I recommend, very nicely done.

Looking for ages for a bag to replace my Berghaus jalan that after many years of travels finally fell apart. Berghaus no longer does a wheeled pack, and since I wheel it more than carry it, options were limited. I have a north face wheeled pack too but the empty weight of that one takes off too much from my luggage allowance! This one is light with a single telescopic pole (the Berghaus only had the strap but was light; the north face has a double telescopic pole and enforced back that makes it sturdy but heavy). this is the perfect middle ground. The harness is decent enough, seeing as no one will want to carry a full 65l pack up a mountain or across the Sahara anyway!

Osprey gear is fantastic. The warranty is awesome and the gear stands up to it. Well built luggage- the backpack is not filled with extras and would not necessarily be a bag you would buy standalone, but serves this purpose well. This fits perfectly for me as a middle bag between a huge family bag and one that is too small for a single person over an extended period or if with a variety of clothing and gear. This is a perfect bag for my next cruise or my next trip overseas!

This is a good bag that does double duty. It can be worn as a backpack or it has wheels as well. Great quality fabric appears to be nice quality and the zippers and fasteners are nice quality also. Inside lots of pockets and separators really help to keep things in place. Recommended

Very versatile. I can either pull it on the wheels or tuck the wheels in a zippered compartment and carry it like a duffle bag or use the straps like a backpack. It's roomy and holds everything I need when traveling or hiking.

Looks good and feels good quality. The wheels are really good and easy to pull despite being only 2.The back pack part takes quite a lot of room. It’s expensive but a good quality product.
