This company really does seem to have the back packlet or "light sack" figured out. Frankly, very little was expected of this bag, based on a couple of other products that have come and gone in this household. Granted, the others have been inexpensive models, but they weren't actually dissimilar to more expensive offerings at the time. Rucksack technology has advanced far since then. This thing looks different right out of the box. For one, it looks and is quite sleek rather than being bulky and baggy (this may present a problem in the stowage capacity department for those of you who want to cram a whole bunch of stuff into a bag built for less stuff). It also looks high-tech, almost over the top, actually, but after one uses the bag he sees that everything seems to have been designed with a specific application in mind, and often that application is appreciated. For instance, there is an annoying strap that fastens across the breast just below the neckline. This obnoxious strap turns out to be quite helpful when one wants to fasten the bag snugly for use when riding a motorcycle (more on that); other bags we've owned have tried to do this unsuccessfully with a waist-level strap which inevitably gets cut off and discarded. Also, the way the bag seems to hug the body as it sits upon one's back causes it to feel almost like an article of clothing rather than an appendage.A word needs to be said for the way the straps fit as well. They are cut in a way that, like the pack itself, hugs the shoulders and stay in place. This would appear to be a basic function but we have found that past bags had a tendency to slide down off of the shoulder and need near constant attention as one bent forward or moved about. This bag just goes along for the ride, riding as snugly and comfortably as one wishes to make it with the easy to hand, well-designed adjustment straps. There are gaps or holes designed into the bag in various places that are meant for use as handholds and, it seems, as belt loops or strap loops (of questionable utility?), but they are designed in such a way that the don't look like handles. On the back there is also a strap on each side that appears to be for two purposes; the first being to keep the bag compressed against its load so that it doesn't shift while in use and the other to deter strange hands from easily sneaking in an unzipping the bag to gain entrance to said contents when the bag is worn amongst a crowd of people. Just how useful or inconvenient these straps are remains to be seen. Also note that the zippers are tucked in and are not easily grabbed and unzipped (accessible) without some effort which will act to deter unwelcome hands and fingers. The zippers themselves don't seem to have that trusted zipper brand, YKK, which does give one pause, but when considered in light of the bag's otherwise excellent design and apparent quality one trusts that the company has done its research and chosen a high quality, long-lasting product. One really excellent feature of this bag which will be of interest to bike riders--push bikes and motorbikes--is a layer of dense foam that is built into the bag and which acts similarly to the body armor as found in many modern motorcycle jackets. I am not making any claims for this foam, nor does the company seem to, but it appears at least equal to that which is in a leather Vanson brand Bike Jacket made for sport riding that we have in the household. If it doesn't already, the company really should think about marketing this bag to bike riders because of the potential added spine protection (the worst motorcycling injuries occur to the spine in a sliding wipe out when the soft, unprotected human back meets a rigid inanimate object, thus spine protection is becoming a standard piece of riding gear for the health-conscious. We used to put a lap top into our old flimsy rucksack and ride with that as an added form of back protection, this new bag seems to address this unmet need quite well.In fact, another application this company might think about along with certified and tested spine armor is using bullet proof material. In this day and age such a line of products should do really well in USA and places such as Somalia, Afghanistan and Venezuela which are notorious for their firearms-wielding strong arm robbers.I heartily recommend this product even though capacity (lack of) is likely to be an issue for a certain percentage of day trippers to travellers of all kinds, to bikers, to bicyclists and to people who need a light ruck sack and who appreciate quality and design: It is called a day bag, but perhaps 3/4 day would be a more appropriate name for it because this bag does not have a large carrying capacity. It is definitely not an overnight bag. Finally, as one went about with this bag one couldn't help wondering what kind of papoose or babycarrier the company could design which would appeal to young couples who have an active, sportif lifestyle?RECOMMENDED!

I was looking for a great-looking backpack that could work for school and hiking weekends. This is the best one I've seen so far that can transition from one to the other. It's not meant for school books, but especially with the zippered expansion, it can work that way, especially for college when you only need to carry books for one or two classes a day. It also has the comfort I need to use it as a hiking backpack, and it's very adjustable for comfort. The cross-body straps move up or down as well as looser and tighter, so combining that with the adjustibility of the shoulder-straps, I can get this exactly right for my frame (medium woman). The back is supportive and cushioned for comfort,so it's not the absolute lightest if you're looking to minimize all extra weight for the trail, but it's still overall a pretty light backpack. Unzipped to its fullest capacity, it will hold quite a bit of stuff, although it's not as ridiculously big as some of the massive school backpacks. There's just enough Osprey branding on it to be obvious about it without being obnoxious. I'm going to use this backpack for everything; it's exactly what I was looking for.

I recently went traveling for a week. I brought this bad boy with me to the airport to check-In with. The pack has a padded interior sleeve for a hydration reservoir I believe up to 3L or a laptop too. This was a great at holding my laptop and other heavy stuff. This travel day pack has lots of room to store. Also, This travel bag has a zippered expansion that adds 6L of storage capacity which is wonderful for traveling. What I liked the most while I was traveling were side compression straps and a front pocket with mesh organizer and key clip. that features were very useful while traveling. Overall, this is a quality made travel pack. I would highly recommend this sturdy bag pack!

I love Osprey packs, and this one is no exception. It's just the right size for a hike that lasts all day, with room for snacks and some basic gear I like to have for "just in case". Which can be needed pretty frequently when the hiker in question is terminally clumsy. It stays comfortable all day and is super cute. Super cute isn't a necessity in my gear, but it's always a nice perk. The only thing that keeps this pack from being 5 stars is that the waterside mesh pockets are a little hard to reach on the move. I generally prefer water bottles to a hydration bladder, so this can be a bit of a pain. But not enough of one to stop me using the pack.

This bag felt high quality, but wasnt a good fit for me. The straps would have rubbed my neck as they are joined at the shoulder and sit too high - rather than coming over each shoulder separately. ( I have returned or I could have taken a pic which would be far clearer. Also, the buckle to adjust seemed like it would rub on my inner arm/ribs after walking any distance as it did not sit flat. Finally, the pack did not seem to have as much space as others with same capacity. All in all , i'm really disappointed I had to return, because I loved the colour, quality and feel of this rucksac, but it just didn't suit my frame.

I use this bag as an everyday work bag and occasionally at weekends. So far it is great does exactly what expected, durability is excilent and it feels super light weight even when full.Had it about 3-4 months and zips are still working with regular use and feel as strong as the day it arrived.Be warned if you are looking at this product as a something to go on extended hiking / camping trips I don't think this is for you. The size of the bag is limited. (Just incase youre thinking it is an option.)If you're after a light weight, strong bag this is for you.

I've bough the Osprey bag to use it for short trips. It has been recommended by my friend and I'm very happy after first use. The greatest feature of the bag is zippered expansion that transforms a bag from an 18L to a 24L pack. There is a dedicated space for laptop which is helpful when traveling to work. Bag is really comfortable to carry however the dedicated top handle (rather than integrated into the straps) would be appreciated - not very convenient to grab. Bag is having compression straps, however when used the access to the main compartment is limited.

This good looking Osprey Backpack isn't too big but fits my 15 inch MacBook Pro with room for a 17 inch laptop. Lots of zippered storage compartments inside and out. It has a hard plastic back board for a comfortable fit even loaded. A cross chest strap is easy to adjust to any size and keeps the pack firmly in place. A Mesh side pocket is elastic so it holds your water bottle in the pocket without worry of loosing it. Over all a well designed good looking backpack you'll not regret buying.

The Osprey Daylite Travel Daypack is a nice, mid-size pack. It is very roomy without being too bulky. It fits up to a 17” laptop, which would make it great for a student. I’m using it for when we take day trips to the attractions. It’s comfortable to wear, and has a front latch that helped take some of the weight off my shoulders and back. It has mesh side pockets for carrying drinks, and inside has a couple different compartments to stash your things. Overall, it’s a nice sturdy daypack.

Osprey have done it again!! This is my 4 osprey item and all are greatThis day pack says exactly what it says it will do ! I did see a 1 star for this ? I don’t no why, one comment was it didn’t have loops on zips for a padlock?!? Seriously you think a little lock on a zip will stop someone getting onto your bag !?!?Great little pack ideal for commuting, day outs and travelI have also just bought the fair point 75 and this clips onto itSo can’t wait to use together

The description says it'll hold up to a 14" laptop, one tag on the pack says 15" and the other tag on the pack says 17" diagonal. I tried a laptop 10 1/2" wide x 15" long x 1 1/4" thick and it fit TIGHT, I'm thinking that's is large as it can take.Otherwise, this pack is great, has good quality zippers and material as well as a rigid back so things don't dig into your back. I love it and would recommend it.

This was a gift for my partner. She needed something better for traveling and this is the perfect high quality day bag for that. It has plenty of room for clothing and work materials and a nice sleeve for her laptop. The fact that it clips onto her Osprey Fairview for longer travels is a huge bonus as well. (Also she loves purple).

This does just what I want for a daily commute bag. Good amount of space, comfortable straps, good water bottle holster for my large (24 oz) bottle.I bought the black one and it is not as black as picture. It's more of a dark blueish black. There's also too many buckles that I can't conveniently stow away.I would buy it again

Brought for mine and my daughters trip to the states in jan it was perfect for the 5 flights we had and the days.never used my handbag at all in the end. Well recommended as the straps were very comfy, best rucksack I’ve used for travelling just the right size and the extra you can zip out proved handy.
