My wife and I were looking for a blender system that was powerful, robust and used the new trick of removing a lot of air before blending. The Ninja 1100W Smart Screen FreshVac has certainly not disappointed. It crushes stacks of large ice cubes with ridiculous ease (both in cup and pitcher) and is very quick. While obviously a bit noisy doing ice-cube based blends, it is a whole lot quieter than any of the take-away cup blenders I have tried and subsequently killed… and there has been a few. Mixes of ice and frozen fruits with minimal liquid (usually almond milk) are my staple, often a couple of times a day. The Smart Screen FreshVac turns the mix into a sorbet like texture in less than 30 seconds and gets very smooth indeed if you let the Smoothie mode run its course.The removal of the air before blending, particularly in milk-based shakes that tend to froth up, keeps the resulting smoothie, well, smooth. You don’t get the massive volume expansion you do when blending milkshakes normally and nor do you get burps like Barney from The Simpsons after drinking. I found the system removed the air so effectively it made the milkshakes a little ‘flat’ in fact. But a few seconds extra blending when you have let the air back in adds just enough froth to give the drink a nice texture.All very good with two small caveats. Firstly, the cups and pitcher can be a bit of a PITA to clean out. The blades remove with ease but the vacuum system in both vessels has areas that see moisture from fully immersive washing-up getting trapped in places you can’t wipe easily, so you have to leave it to dry naturally. Washing-up agro is not unusual with full pitcher blenders so you sort of know what you are letting yourself in for. Its just a bit of a faff if you are used to basic take-away cup blenders or use it several times a day.The other issue (for me at least) is the size of the cup. At 600ml it is probably good for most people but if you are an athlete that goes for big post-workout protein/carb smoothies, that isn’t going to cut it. The tall thin cup also limits the amount of chunky ingredient you can get in to start with, such as frozen bananas and ice cubes. One banana and four big ice cubes is about your lot. Conversely, the pitcher is plenty large enough, but the post-blend clean-up puts me off using it for quick shakes several times a day. Come on Ninja, can you please make an optional 900ml cup for the Smart Screen FreshVac as you do for the Nutri-Ninja IQ range, please.Those niggles aside, my wife and I are very pleased with the Smart Screen FreshVac. In pitcher mode, this machine is a proper beast and I cannot believe there is a more robust or effective blender available outside of a professional kitchen equipment supplier.

I've had this blender for around 2 months now so I've had a good chance to test all the features. All in all this blender is the best I've used at home, it effortlessly blends ice, frozen fruit, oats, and soups to make tasty smooth foods.The multi blade centre means that you don't need to shake the unit to move the food towards the blade (as I've had to do on several other blenders in the past). And the sheer power of the unit means that it does not need to run for too long to create smooth food. Because this has so much power and can blend so much it's not the smallest appliance and is loud when running. However, Its no bigger than similar volume blenders.I guess that will come down to how much storage you have in your own kitchen.The individual cups are great for making one portion, however I've mostly been using the full jug to make enough for the family or a batch of soup for the week. I really like the touch screen interface, it's simple, clear and easy to clean. The vacuum is a neat addition and it definitely helps keep things fresher and stops separation. However I'm not sure how much I'll use that in the long run. We'll see. Overall this is a cracking kitchen appliance and I'd happily recommend this to anyone who needs a blender. I guess I have had a number of blenders over my life time most have been good and I have only replaced them when they became faulty. This time I did my usual research (lengthy and very boring for my partner but I think it is important). Did I truly believe all the good reviews, the stories about how good the oxygen extraction improved the smoothies, well no, but I did believe it was worth a try and I have to say they are correct. This is a fantastic blender and yes the oxygen removal does make a very big difference, no froth and the drink-ability is so good. Now to a slightly negative side, the Vac unit stopped working and was replaced and after 9 months of average use the blender started to smell of burning,both of which required a warranty claim. So why have I given it 5 stars? Well I believe all products will have the occasional bad one and can have faults, but it is the way a company resolves these issues which is important and Ninja have been fantastic on both occasions. Due to this, even though this is my first purchase from them, I will remain loyal to the brand which I suspect is why they do this so well and in the long run why they take so much care over it. A great product from a great customer service brand. Thank you

Since cooking is our cup of tea, we have tried many blenders while creating new recipes. Unfortunately, some of them did not cope with frozen fruit, such as blueberries, grapes or ice cubes. Right now we can assure you that Ninja 1100W Smart Screen Blender with FreshVac Technology is definitely the best of all available out there. It’s multifunctional- it enables you to create some fresh juices, tasty shakes, delicious smoothies and even ice cream. Moreover, a booklet with various ideas of potential dips (classic hummus) and soups (butternut squash) is included. It definitely helps you to stay healthy, do more home-cooking, eat more fruit and vegetables. The vacuum is just an addition to a great blender,but we are more than impressed with its operation. At the beginning we doubted that it would make a huge difference. As a result, we added the same amount of fruit to both shakes with a difference that one was normally blended and the other with the oxygen removal blending technique. The results speak for themselves. (see pictures) Promised stronger colour, more accurate taste and smoothness is reached. NINJA congratulations for such an innovative product. I was happy with my previous blender but was looking for one with extra capacity. To have the option of larger capacity and single portion smoothies etc is fabulous. I wasn’t expecting the blend to be any better than my old one but it is. Much smoother drinks and fantastic for ensuring vegetables like kale and spinach are well blended in a green smoothie. Lots of settings to choose from. I spent a bit of time reading the instruction manual mainly to understand how to use the freshvac. Thereafter it’s very intuitive with a clear display. I have been using it daily since I took it out if the box. Green smoothies are a favourite now, other blended drinks are fabulous. I’ve made soups,dips like hummus and other family favourites. It’s very secure in the way that it fixes to the worktop via rubber feet and doesn’t move even when blending ice for example. I thought the freshvac was going to be a gimmick but it’s very noticeable when you use it with fruit smoothies, a different texture and colour is achieved. it’s been such an excellent aid in my kitchen, my brother is keen to buy one too! First of all we LOVE this! The first smoothie I made was with what I had in the fridge- pear, lemon and ginger. It was incredible The motor is clearly very powerful as all of the chunks of ginger were obliterated within seconds on the high speed setting. With the second smoothie, I had to add some water to help with the blending of the coconut pieces but it worked wonderfully. - Unpacking and assembly: Although there are a lot of stickers and instructions, once you take it out of the box, piecing it together is super intuitive. - Vacuum seal: This was a new concept to me but once I installed the batteries it was easy to figure out how this was done. - Care: The containers and blades are easy to wash and feel solid.I particularly like the fact that there aren't any odd crevices for food to get stuck into, which is great. I have recently received my blender and aesthetically I am really pleased with it, I was concerned as I have an ultra-modern kitchen that I wouldn’t be happy with it being kept on my kitchen worktops however it really is sleek and fits great. The freshvac technology is fabulous and really works, I have notified a huge difference with the shelf life of my smoothies and a cut down of waste; as I am happy to keep it in the fridge for another day now. We are constantly making smoothies at ungodly hours of the morning, so I really am impressed with the noise volume of the blender for the power of the blender it really is relatively quiet.Although if you have only have a small available space I would probably say that this blender may not be for you as the base is quite large. I got the blender last week and have gone mad making smoothies and soups. The FreshVac technology has made sure that actually my soups and smoothies stay so fresh for so much longer than they used to.I love that the machine comes with the presets so at one touch you can select what you are making eg smoothies and just leave the machine to run. Dare I say the best thing about this machine is how easily you can clean it. Usually when I used my old blender it was for a quick meal like soup but then I would have to spend a long time cleaning the actual machine, turning what was supposed to be a quick meal into something much longer. I've had cheaper blenders in the past but they can't compete with this one! We've mostly used it for smoothies and it cuts through frozen fruit easily, even on the lower power setting. The pump (FreshVac) works really well with the personal sized cups because it produces nice thick smoothies. In comparison, my old blender would make a frothy shake, that would be double the volume, which isn't ideal as it wouldn't fit in a glass and didn't have the same satisfying texture. Favourite recipe: frozen strawberries, whey protein powder and milk (or ice cream if I'm feeling naughty). [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I'm really impressed with this blender. It's easy to choose a setting and have all of the ingredients crushed in a matter of seconds! I like having the choice of using a cup that you can take with you or the jug for preparing bigger portions of soup.I was unsure about how well the FreshVac would work or if I'd be able to tell the difference but my smoothies look much brighter, are less frothy and have a perfectly smooth texture.The blender looks nice on the worktop whereas we used to hide our ugly old blender away in the cupboard, and the touchscreen wipes down nicely. I'll definitely be recommending this model.

This blender finally convinced to throw away my old blender!I had it for about a week and I made different smoothies, milkshakes and a tomato soup. Its 3 sharp blades had no difficulties to make everything juicy. you have dedicated buttons for smoothies and puree - which is a big win! No need to stay next to it and check 3 times if it's done. This blender knows what is doing. The FreshVac is a welcomed addition as it makes everything very smooth! Whilst I am yet to understand the purpose of the oxygen pump as I trialled it once and it didn’t seem to work this machine is super powerful. The large contained whizzes up cooked veg to soup in a few seconds, making it so much smoother than any hand blender I would have used before! The smaller containers are the perfect smoothie size, and I pop in a metal straw through the lids provided if I’m on the go. In terms of what it’s made for, it’s perfect, but make sure not to use it early in the morning as you’ll wake the house hold up! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

The FreshVac element of the Ninja was what really stood out for me. As someone who likes to have a smoothie after the gym in the morning I can prepare the drink I want and take it with me for when I finish without it getting discoloured. and sludgy. It's very powerful and can blend pretty much anything, but the drawback is if you have a small kitchen it's a large counter top product and the portable cups are on the small side for what I like to put in them. We have used a number of blenders and took a punt on the Nimja after our 12 month old Nuribullet bit the erm...bullet! It was evident straight away that the Ninja was a superior product. Robust, blends pretty much anything and the IQ options are super handy - particularly for someone lacking natural culinary skills like me! We've used it daily for smoothies, baking and cooking and so far have been extremely impressed. Oh and for what it's worth, it looks great too! Highly recommended. I received the new Ninja Blender 6 days ago and used it to make sweet potato soup. It is easy to set up, use and even easy to wash up. I love how the screen lights up making it super easy to see, once blender you can put the lid on and there's even a funnel end on the lid making it easy to pour. I poured it back into the pan to re-heat. Best food blender I have ever used! So quick and easy and makes extremely smooth soup. Can't wait to use it to make smoothies and my protein shakes!
