I make a lot of soup and the only downside I find is using the hand blender at the end which has scratched the bottom of my pan and sometimes I get splattered with the hot soup. After a lot of research and choosing a Which recommended Best Buy I decided on the total control as it had all the features that I am looking for. The instruction booklet is very easy to follow and the controls are a breeze to navigate. The book has some delicious recipes inside, which I am making my way through. The basic veg soup turned out nice and smooth with a lovely consistency and absolutely piping hot. It did produce a small amount of steam On first use so I just had it under the extractor fan but it wasn’t major as in billowing out.It did make me jump when the blades became active so beware but it’s not overly noisy, but I’m used to that now. Easy to clean afterwards as the inner jug pops out after you have given it a 4 minute automatic clean with a bit of water and a drop of washing up liquid, however it just cleans the bottom and blades not the sides so you need to pop the jug out and hand clean the rest. Careful though as the water is very hot. Investing in a small soft brush for the shaft and base of the blade is a good idea as soup can linger there and as the blades are very sharp it’s easier to do with a brush. I love this soup maker, I should have bought it ages ago. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

With the Morphy Richards total control soup maker it is so unbelievably easy to create delicious soup that I no longer waste my time and money buying ready to heat soups in stores. I also own a Salter Electric soup maker which I have stopped using because in terms of performance it does not come close to matching the Morphy Richards. The features which make the Total Control Soup Maker a dream kitchen appliance are that it is incredibly easy to use (even my 6 year old could use it, not to mention my husband!), it is ridiculously easy and quick to clean which is crucial when there are much more interesting things to do than clean kitchen appliances plus and very importantly it is versatile -not only can I create brilliant soups but I can make smoothies too and I can create the consistency I desire - smooth, chunky etc. I don't want to spend hours in the kitchen making delicious meals for my family and with this product I certainly don't need to.My only regret is that I didn't have the total control soup maker years ago and that I have wasted money on far inferior products. I have sometimes bought appliances which don't live up to their claims and they have lingered in cupboards whereas this one Is used almost as much as my kettle. It has become an essential fixture and I now wonder how I managed without it. It's simply the best and I cannot recommend it highly enough.

I have had a couple of Morphy Richards soup makers before and have always loved them. When they bring out a decent updated model I'll donate my current one to a friend and upgrade myself. I've moved from the Soup & Saute model, to this and I'm happy with my decision. I like the way the cannister lifts out of the body, which makes it easier to clean. The display and controls are easier to use and i like the fact it counts down in seconds, not just minutes, like my old model. I also found it is quieter in operation too, with the blending not being nearly as loud. The only thing I think my old model did better/easier was saute. There was a button on the handle to switch this function on and off,so you could keep the lid off and add things/stir etc. With this model you need the lid to be on for the heat to operate. You can take the lid off to add/stir, but the heating is disabled until you put the lid back on. Minor annoyance really, but can't see why they made this change as it makes it just a bit less user friendly. One thing they could do is provide a stand for the lid/blade so that when you need to take it off there's somewhere suitable to put it.Those things aside, it is an excellent soup maker and very easy to use. I love it.Read full review...

We have been using this soup maker for a couple of weeks now & it is brilliant. This is an easy way to get children to eat vegetables that they wouldn’t normally try, my children love all the soups we’ve made. I have tried some of the recipes that come with the machine which were great (especially the broccoli & stilton recipe…..gorgeous) and adjusted others to taste/available ingredients and each time the soup produced is perfect (most supermarkets sell prepacked soup mix which is great for an easy soup). The soup maker automatically keeps hot once finished but also as a reheat function that stirs the soup & reheats without the need for another pan. There are numerous other settings including number of portions, three consistency settings smooth, medium or chunky, smoothie setting & manual blend setting (haven’t used the smoothie setting yet but do plan to). There is a sauté option so that onions etc can be sautéed in the soup maker before adding the other ingredients which saves on washing up. Cleaning is also easy, add water & a small amount of washing up liquid, select pre-clean & this will ensure that there is very little left to clean afterwards.Would recommend this product to anybody.Looking forward to trying new recipes this weekend.

I'm super impressed by this soup maker, as it's really just a simple as chucking some veg and the machine does all the work, and you have fantastic soups in roughly 21minutes! The unit has many great features, you can choose the consistency you prefer smooth, medium or chunky or you can blend till the you are happy, as this has a large serrator blade attached, which is sharp. I find this product good i you don't want to be standing around over a pot, you literately leave it to do the work, with a young family and work commitments I find it very helpful. Since having this I have made soup way more than I used to as it's that simple, even my husband and enjoying making the soup. All the soups I have made are fantastic and fresh, especially the butternut squash, chilli and coconut. You get 4 good sized bowls from each batch or you can make smaller portions if you prefer. I find since using this we haven't had any waste, which I did find when making a huge pot.The vessel has a removable1600ml for easy cleaning, it also has a Pre-clean function which is also very good. Overall I would definitely recommend this product if you are considering it!! it is very well made and I have no negative comments.

Versatile, stylish and so easy to use. Every kitchen should have one.I couldn't wait to try this machine when it arrived. The lid has all the programmable functions and once I knew what they were all for it was so easy to set. Very straightforward. The first soup I made was pea and ham. Just throw everything in, set the programme and walk away. Simple as that. It was delicious and with the reheating function the rest of the family didn't miss out. This function is great as not everyone is home at the same time. The portion control also meant there was no wastage. As for cleaning it was a dream. All you have to do is release the inner bowl and wash or there is the option to pre-clean.All you do is add a small amount of washing up liquid, put the lid back on and choose the pre-clean function. It takes around 4 minutes.Next on my to do list was try making a milkshake or smoothie. Best smoothie I have ever made and I now treat myself to one every morning.I followed the recipes in the book to begin with but I can now adapt and come up with my own ideas. We now find ourselves eating healthy home made soups nearly every day. Great for taking to work.I would definitely recommend this product.

I have been using this soup maker for around six weeks now. I fell in love with it form day one. The first soup I tried was mushroom, it only took 22 minutes from start to finish, following the recipe from the recipe book included), it was lovely, the only change I made was to use the smooth setting instead of medium as it made it creamier. The machine is so easy to clean after use. To make cleaning easier rinse off the lid and blade straight away so residue does not stick, then wash the inner container, make sure everything is dry and it is ready to put away. Storage is easy as the machine is so compact. The flip up handle on the lid is a very useful addition as it makes it easier to hold for cleaning ect.Unfortunately,my husband has now discovered he loves making soup and has now made himself chief soup chef.Between us we have made every recipe from the book and all of them are lovely.I have recently started a Slimming World diet plan and this machine is ideal for my syn free lunches and healthy smoothies etc.I cannot recommend this machine highly enough, it is well worth buying.

My last soup maker exploded because it was really difficult to clean without getting the electrics wet, which was a little silly. Making soap soup to try & clean it never cleaned the top edge and did not satisfactorily clean the bottom of the motor, so you needed to wash it up, risking getting water in the electrics. THIS soup maker has a brilliant removable inside so you can wash it and ensure the points (which stick out} are kept completely dry before plugging it back in. Makes more soup and has a saute function which was missing on the other one. Not having a saute function misses the whole point of a one stop soup shop. It also has a keep warm and reheat function. So all in all pretty darned happy with this little baby. The downside is the that central container does get hot. The side is open so just be careful not to touch the middle bit when cooking. Would have been more sensible if it were visible but not touchable. But thats a small forgivable design flaw.Read full review...

Bought this as a gift for a friend, because I already have one and I knew she'd love it...and she does.Great multi-function soup maker that can produce anything from the smoothest, silkiest tomato to a really hearty chunky vegetable. Very simple to use and has a great sauté function, which allows you to brown onion, garlic etc for extra flavour before making your soup and alleviates the necessity for an extra pan. Simply prepare your ingredients, add them to the device with your chosen stock, select the portion size and function from the digital panel on the lid, press the start button and leave it for the 21-29 minutes it takes to complete. Don't worry if you're a bit late returning; there's a stay-warm feature that kicks in,keeping your soup at the perfect temperature.>The jug shaped liner enables you to pour directly into your bowls and a simple press up a button ejects the liner for easy cleaning.Read full review...

Soup maker is easy to use though looks a bit complicated at first glance. Lid is a bit heavy and when you take lid off to check it is blended enough the lid isn't easy to put it down as the blade is attached. It would be useful to add a comment on what to do with the lid - e.g can you lay it on its side without damaging blades. Disappointed there weren't more recipes, esp for chicken soups but recipes are very well done and you can choose how many portions. I'm not sure if you can poutr the soup out of the jug while the steel jug is still in the soup maker and als a clear window in the steel jug would make it easier to see consistency . I guess it would make it less robust..Great product and i am enjoying using it. V easy to clean steel jug if you do so immediately after use [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

After reading the Instruction book cover to cover I decided to give the Celery Soup a go as it uses the Sauté and Smooth blend functions. As good as the machine is, the Instruction manual is poor.1) On Page 9 Step 3, it tells you to replace the lid as the last step. It should be the FIRST step.2) Following the recipe on Page 27, when you get to Method Step 1, it does not mention to replace the lid after adding the vegetables to continue Sauté, as found on Page 15 Saute...(16) where it describes the operation of the Sauté function. The above points may be minor but they are misleading. The Soup was smooth and creamy, just added a little black pepper to taste.Looking to be a little more adventurous now I know how the machine performs. I have owned this soup maker for 3 weeks and make soup 4-5 times a week. It has delivered above my expectations. I am a full time student and chose this model because it had the ability to make smaller portions than its predecessors. The soups it produces are excellent and there is great satisfaction in producing your own soup from raw ingredients. I have tried several recipes utilising all the functions and I have not been let down or disappointed by the results. There will be many who would just say use a pan and a blender but for ease of use but in terms of preparation and cleaning this soup maker is an indispensable piece of equipment in my kitchen.[This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I have used the soup maker with the serrator blade which I thought was excellent but had ideas of how it could be improved. Well someone was obviously reading my mind as this soup maker has additional features which takes soup making to a new level. The new features include 'medium' and 'saute' blends the portion feature and pre clean and 'keep warm' features. It is easy to use and makes really good soup. I am really pleased to 'upgrade' to this 'total control' soup maker and can recommend it without hesitation. if you are new to soup making try using the recipes in the manual which comes with the soup maker and then when you have done a few it is great fun experimenting and doing 'your ownthing'!!

I found making a smooth soup very easy, but the chunky one turned out to be very lumpy and in the end it too became a smooth soup! I found the machine quite heavy for pouring and the soup dribbled down the front, meanng I had to wash the exterior section with care because it contains an electrical contact.I greatly liked the saute function and the ability to stop/start to add ingredients is also a very useful function. The speed of cooking is excelllent - from start to finish, the quickest soup I have ever made The cleaning function is more of a rinse, so the whole machine has to be carefully cleaned after use. Despite the complicaations, well worth buying and at the price I paid on Ebay,a bargain!

I bought this a few weeks ago, after a friend recommended Morphy Richards soup makers, and am really pleased I did. I checked what the functions were and am very pleased I got this one, as I have used the saute function a lot as well as the different consistency settings. The recipes are easy to adapt once you get used to the machine. I also like that I can do 3 different amounts of soup for 2, 3 or 4 portions. If you make it a bit thicker it can stretch to 6 when served as the portions are already quite generous. It is really easy to clean especially with the lift out jug.Not tried smoothies yet.Nothing to fault it!
