I bought this to replace an older soup maker which had died after plenty of service. When I started my search, I was just looking for a replacement but then I discovered the myriad of options one needs to consider. For me there were several factors which swayed me toward this Morphy Richards Soup maker1 Stainles steel Jug2 Pouring spout3 visual count down timer. So far, we have tried a variety of smooth vegetable soups, all of which have been delicious. Providing you cut the veg into small pieces, they will adequately cook through during the timed programme.I don't agree with the cleaning claims made by the manufacturer.I always need to wash out the jug properly with hot soapy water as there is often debris stuck to the bottom even when stock or water was poured in before the vegetables. This a is a small price to pay for such a good product. The manufactures description states that any programme once started will be reset if the lid is removed or the power removed. I have found this not to be the case. I have removed the lid after the programme has started to add herbs and seasoning. When I have replaced the lid, the cycle has continued from where it was interrupted. I have found this to be the case when removing the lid for up to a minute during the initial heating phase. I certainly would not try this during the blending phase as it is likely to result in some considerable mess and has the risk of anyone nearby being scalded by the hot liquid. The visual countdown time is great for helping to prepare for meal time. I did find it frustrating with the old appliance when I did not know how much longer it would be.

I purchased this soup maker to replace my previous Morphy Richards 'Saute & Soup' soup maker (which worked perfectly for 18 months until I dropped it & cracked the lid ?).I decided on this model over the 'Saute & Soup' model as I hardly ever used the Saute facility & I am trying to steer away from non-stick coatings in my cookware. This model has a stainless steel interior (so no worries about chemicals leaching into the food). So far I haven't had any issues at all with food sticking or burning, infact I'd say it's easier to clean than the previous model. If you've never owned a soup maker before, they are super easy to use. Simply chop your veg and add to the 'kettle' along with some stock & boiling water. The controls are easy to use, just select smooth or chunky & the machine does the rest!!My boys (aged 3 &5) love helping to make soups... I chop the veggies, they pop them in the kettle & press the buttons - I believe that involving them with the preparation & cooking of healthy foods is a great way of educating them & getting them excited about eating something they've made!!I never follow recipes, I just grab whatever is in the fridge & it always ends up delicious! One of our favourite combinations is carrots, onion, tomatoes, sweet potato, celery & fresh basil.I use my soup maker every day - my husband takes a flask of soup to work, the boys have soup either as a meal with home made bread or as a sauce/gravy poured over veggies & pasta. It's a great, flavourful way of getting extra healthy veggies in our food!!I wouldn't want to be without my soup maker & would highly recommend this model to anyone.

Very easy to use and makes a delicious soup ? (apparently that is a soup emoji). My husband is a Coeliac so we need to cook fresh and this allows me to make soups without having to read labels in the supermarket. My only issue is that the soup can burn to the bottom of the container. It states in the instructions that the Soup Maker is easy to clean, however this is a lie if the soup burns to the bottom, it then takes some scrubbing to get it clean again. Also because of the connections you have to be careful around the water you are using to clean the Soup Maker.Ideally an inner container would have been a better idea, where you could remove and clean properly in a dishwasher or in good old hot soapy water. The Soup Maker is easy to use and gives you the choice of smooth or chunky Soup. Would recommend but keep your eye out for the Soup burning to the bottom.

About as big as a large upright kettle, this soup maker produces lovely soup with a minimum of effort, and keeps it hot for 1/2 and hour. The recipe book that comes with it is good, and there are plenty of on-line and paper recipe books available for traditional and avant-garde soups. The inside is easy to clean, just rinse out with water straight after using it. I haven't needed to use the clean mode. I don't miss a saute feature, but using left over vegetables from meals add variety and taste.I find the 1600ml level makes a good helping for four adults. It is a little noisy when it blends, but no more than a nutribullet, and then only blends twice per smooth soup cycle for abot half a minute followed by a minute. It bleeps when it's ready.

Why did I not buy one of these before. I so enjoy a thick soup with crusty bread as a meal in itself. The tinned soups are more like flavoured water. Before buying this soup maker it was always the hassle of cutting up the vegetables, boiling, cooking, blending, etc. But this does it all in one - and in 21 minutes.I have had my soup maker two months and experimented with a number of recipes. It is trial and error to a degree to find the perfect mix for your own taste, but so far no complaints what so ever. A recipe book is a helpful start. Easy to clean and store. My favourite soups so far include leak and potato, but sweet potato and red onion is my favourite. But the choice is yours to adjust and enjoy.

How did I manage with out it, first of all let me say I like soup and have a bowl every day ,with the soup maker it has made life so easy. All you do is place your ingredients to the first mark top up with water to the second mark add a stock cube and seasoning, put on the top, choose which setting, smooth or chunky twenty minutes later you have piping hot soup ,i prefer smooth personally but chunky is just as good..Cleaning is easy ,so no more burnt pans, no more watching over the stove and stirring plus it saves on electric as you have hot fresh soup in twenty minutes .Some gadgets you buy once on impulse and never use again I can guarantee the soup maker will be used over and over again.

This makes making soup so easy. I dice the vegetables in seconds using a food processor, then sauté and leave in the soup maker while I have a study with three friends. Half an hour before the end I switch it on and it's ready for lunch. The four of us have a good soup bowl full each.It really only takes six or seven minutes of preparation this way including washing the vegetables. If you don't want to do the preparations yourself you can buy the diced vegetables instead. There are four settings on the top. The first is for smooth where the serrator does it's job after the soup is cooked. Number two setting is for chunky soup, the final two are a juice and blend setting.

I've waited a while to post my feedback - I've now had this soup maker a couple of months and can happily report that, apart from the kettle and toaster, this is the most used kitchen gadget I have. I occasionally wipe the insides with oil before making soup to ensure it doesn't stick if I have a lot of thick ingredients and it works a treat. I find it easy to clean and it produces extremely good soup! Yes, it is noisy, so I simply close the kitchen door and leave it to get on with it. Given it only takes 20 minutes this isn't a problem. It's been a very good buy.

❤️?Love this. I can take it to work and make soup 25 minutes before my half hour lunch break and share with my colleagues. Great idea if you are in a healthy eating plan and want a soup before main meals. Its cheap to make soup and you don't feel overwhelmed- in the past I made a huge pot and now make 4-6 portions and can freeze some. Feels more economical too.My friend bought one and impressed her guests by making it in front of them as they were all chatting in the kitchen.Great buy I know it's expensive initially but works out better in the long run.

This is our 2nd Morphy Richards Soup Maker and we love it. Our first one lasted us 5 years. Nice and easy to use and you can't really go wrong. A few tips:1. Always put liquid in first (or stuff burns to the bottom)2. When using bulky ingredients, such as potatoe, be very careful not to put too much in! It'll just burn. Less is more.3. Don't use tinned tomatoes. I've yet to find a way of using them that doens't involve it burning to the bottom.Apart from those few points, you can't really go wrong. Broccoli & Bacon has been one of our favourites!

Love this soup maker. Its is very easy to use and produces great results time after time. If you tend to throw out veg you haven't used regularly, this will save you money.Only two issues for me that prevent it getting five stars; 1. it has a cut off function to prevent over heating and when activated turns off the device, but this effectively resets the timer to the start. 2. you WILL have some residue stuck to the bottom of the kettle every time you use it . This requires a good degree of scrubbing and old fashioned elbow grease to get clean.

I'd never heard of a soup maker before, but I thought it sounded interesting. Once I received it, I found it very easy to set up and the instructions were clear and concise. It also came with a recipe book which had some great ideas. It really saves you from the hassle and washing up that comes with making soup the traditional way, and is so quick as well. We made some tomato soup which was so flavoursome and had a lovely texture. We are looking forward to making lots more soups!

I am very impressed with this machine, it arrived yesterday, I followed the instructions did a clean cycle before I used it, made smooth sweet potato and Leek soup, it was delicious. The only down side is the noise when the blade inside is spinning, which thankfully was only a few times... All three dog's thought we were under attack from the kitchen and started barking... Note to self shut the kitchen and lounge door lol. I am looking forward to enjoying more delicious food

I have used the soup maker every day since I bought it. It's a great product and so easy to use. The only problem I have had is that I made some mushroom soup and added creme fraiche at the end and blended it which was OK but the soup was too thin. I eventually put it in a pan and added some potato flour (cornflour would do just as well) to get the consistency I like. It's a bit trial and error with recipes for consistency but will adjust as I get more used to it.

Can't believe I've never bought a soup maker before. I've always rested by saying to myself "What's so difficult about using a pan?" Then my neighbour asked me to try hers. There's no standing over a pan making sure it doesn't burn and there's no mess when transferring cooked soup into the liquidiser. It' very easy to clean and nothing sticks to th bottom, providing you put some water in the bottom before adding the soup ingredients.
