Was already a fan of the Nikka from the Barrel, and wanted to try another Japanese whisky.Hadn't had a corn-based whisky in a while, so was initially thinking something tastes odd when I first tried it, but once I embraced it, it was a lovely experience, I love it.By way of tasting notes, I'm getting a Christmas pudding vibe, maybe spices and raisins? I'm not the most educated taster.Based on what the back of the bottle says, this is genuinely made in Japan.Also great that it's bottled 45%, there's a lovely warmth to it.

It's a good whisky, and unique. However it's fairly one dimensional, a sweet cinnamon spice. Currently Japanese whisky is suffering from inflated prices and £40-£50 is simply not worth it for this one in my opinion. I look forward to distillers in Japan increasing their production though so we can have Japanese whisky at reasonable prices in the future.

I would strongly recommend this as a foray into Japanese Whisky’s (no « e »). It is complex in the different flavors it embodies and easier to drink than the Nika from the Barrel. Almost like a more sophisticated bourbon. Although if you want something Smokey or peaty-ee I would go another route.

This is a very good whiskey. Full bodied and drinkable.Definite caramel and vanilla tones, not harsh, it's a bourbon at the next level.Not sure the price is right, I have had similar quality for cheaper but, still a very good drink.

I don't drink whisky, but I read online reviews and checked with The Whisky Bible. This whisky scored high and did not disappoint, everyone who's tried it, loves it. Smooth and tasty. Delivery was prompt and packaging was excellent.

It’s my second bottle. It is a little expensive but it is really tasty.FYI it is called Coffey whisky as it is made in a Coffey still, it doesn’t have coffee flavours :) flavour wise it is more like a Japanese bourbon whisky

I love this whisky. It's gorgeous, now I'm a fan of ardbeg, and this is the total opposite of that. But it's just so delicious. I drank my bottle in about 2 weeks, which is pretty quick for me.

Hubby loved this, he started off savouring it, lovingly worshipping the bottle, the smell, the taste, then it went downhill, he became a slobbering mess thanks to the wonder that is Nikka.

Not what I was expecting, massive difference from the other Nikka single malt.Has a heavy toffee/ demarera sugar notes with citrus and spicy finish.Lovely sipping whisky.

I hate whiskey and have no idea what the flavour, sheerness or thickness isnall about. Butbthis is my partner's favourite so he was very pleased to receive this as a gift.

This is my favourite Japanese whisky. Much better than their malt offering. A gentle and enjoyable dram. Will always have a place on my shelf.

This is the second best whisky I've ever had, only second to the malt version. It's still worth 5 stars. Beautiful flavour. Well done Japan!

I was skeptical until I tried it as a sample: then I bought the bottle - and it is as good as I hoped.Terrific.

I find this very similar to Yamazaki 18yr but at a fraction of the price. One of the nicest I've tried recently.
