I am new to gaming and enjoyed the first Professor Layton. I looked for similar (or what I thought were similar) puzzle games. The reviews of this looked good but it is not (as another review highlights) anywhere near Professor Layton standards. This game has a trivial story line, not really necessary to the game and you go to different locations to find hidden objects.Its quite engaging but after a while it gets boring going into the same rooms (hotel, post office, police station, museum) to find more objects. Yes its a bit tricky at times so it keeps you going, but its not that interesting or exicting. However, I agree with another review on here to say that at times,

I have been playing this for just over a week now, and have only just got to the Berlin levels of the game. For the size of the DS screen, it is a pretty good attempt at hidden object games, something I didn't think would be possible on the handheld device.Seeing the other reviews where they commented on it being a female lead - I don't have to dress up in skirts to play it, so it doesn't matter! :0)And for the one who said it was just clicking around, they obviously didn't play it very much, as after the first couple of levels, you lose time if you click randomly around the screen!The hidden object levels do get a little repetitive after a while, but my old eyes can't handle playing for too long,

I have finally completed this game, it lasts a very long time, with over 100 levels!I don't think that it's a game that i could pick up and play til the end, it would get far too boring. I did this a few hours at a time and it lasted me a good while, it was the perfect game to play if i was bored and only wanted a little fix.Although i did say to myself quite often, "Oh, i'll just do the next level..." then it goes on and on til you've done a lot more than you planned.I love hidden object games. First one was millionheir.In Mystery Stories, i love that you have to find some objects by their sound and what they look like, rather than just the list of words.Overall, great game.

If your looking for a puzzle game that is not too difficult, then this is for you. You have to find specific objects on each screen, some of which are very well hidden, but you do have to be observant as you revisit locations looking for other objects. As each task is timed, it does help to remember where things are to save time. Have completed the game in both relaxed (longer time given per screen) and normal mode, so will probably put away for a while and then play again to see how much I can remember. Would definately recommend to family and friends, will let me 6 year old son have a go too.

I bought this with Christmas money, from Asda, (at low low price). It was a lovely surprise after some of the 'mystery' games that I had bought that I had to read too much on. This is an easy game, but with hidden problems and twists and turns. I would recommend this to anyone who leads a busy life but just wants to 'lose' themselves for a couple of hours every now and then. I have recently finished this game and was devastated - had to go to Amazon (and raid my husband's DSiXL case for one of his games) and order another game of a similar ilk! 12 stars out of 10!

I really enjoyed this game and didn't find it too difficult to locate the hidden objects as moving around the screen was fairly straight forward. There could have been a few more puzzles to solve but that's just a minor gripe. I kept thinking I was near the end but then another level appeared so the game went on far longer then I expected, which made it very good value for money. Had finished Mystery Case Files millionaire before playing this and have to say Mystery Stories is a far better game.Would I recommend it...yes

I enjoy this game a lot and play it as much as I can. There are two main problems with this game that I have found: one is that some of the objects are difficult to spot as they are dark and blend in with the background too much, and, two is that the dialogue is rather weak and there is too much of it, where there could be more games puzzles instead.A couple of the puzzles are too simple but this doesn't really detract from playing the game.Overall, it is a great Hidden Object game.

I have played this on the pc and all the objects are in the same place.But you get 2 games in one, the island game then the berlin game.So it is worth the money, i have enjoyed playing it, it is easyif you have had them on the pc.If you havent had these games on the pc, then you in for a goodhidden object game.It will be harder for those who havent played it before.The graphics and sound affects are good, story line okay and easy to follow.Have fun and enjoy the game.

Bought this game to take away for a 2 week holiday, for a couple of hours an evening or any spare moments.Great game, still not finished it, when I thought I had finished, the game moved to a completely new destination and it appears to have a similar number of levels at this 2nd location.If you like mysteries the story line is good throughout, the hidden objects at times are difficult to find but that adds to the fun.

This game is really good if you like hidden object games, its got loads of levels so will keep you entertained for hours. Its also great for younger people my brother loves it and he's 13. However younger children may find it complicated to follow and fully understand. This is a game worth buying if you enjoy puzzles, however some people may find it repetitive or boring after a few levels.

I enjoyed playing this game, even though some of the objects were so hidden I had to use the all my hint points to progress through the levels.Out of all the mystery games I have played, this has hundreds of levels, so took a few months to complete.I couldn't put it down as wanted to get through the hundred or something levels.

Not as in depth puzzles as the professor Layton series, butjust as good fun, holds the attention, even though easiergames, makes you want to finnish which is the whole point,good entertainment value for all 3+ age ranges, (I am at theolder to much older, below ancient group!)Bought as new onAmazon outlet great value price.

I played Mystery Case Files before and for me this one is the best hidden object game available. Not because of the graphics or the music, but because of the many different levels, locations and game modes. Some of them are a little hard but I had enough bonus tools to pass them. A must have for hidden object fans.

Alot of the mystery`s i have done before being of an older generation but saying that it was a plesant and taxing game to play and enjoyed playing immensely . A lot of the talking could be done away with as i found it tedious . Overall the game was excellent

Being a fan of hidden object games, this is my first DS experience. Easy to navigate, fine graphics. Varying display of search objects, be it as sounds or silhouettes or as the old word list. Wrapped up in a story with quite some humour.
