Review for the 'Light Glide 100' - steam iron in blue/white.For a small iron, this is a remarkably lightweight.I initially thought this iron would struggle with the high water output versus smaller than average size.I was pleased to note that it actually holds a decidedly pleasing 230ml in it's translucent tank which seems to extend the entire length of the iron. Pretty good for its size!▪︎ The Key Features:• 100g steam boost function which helps with the tough creases.• Pointy tip with a steam outlet hole very close to the tip to really get into those tight necks, cuffs and pleats.• High 2200w power means this little thing heats up pretty quickly.• Constant stream function which works well for vertical steaming.Granted, it's not as quick nor as perfect as a dedicated steam generator iron. But, for a compact steam iron, which is perfectly worthy of packing into the suitcase for a getaway. It's remarkably good.• The large 230ml tank for its size means that I don't have to keep filling the tank after ironing less than half a dozen pieces, such as a dedicated travel iron. When it does require topping up with water, the large inlet cap makes it easy to fill.• The wide sturdy base keeps it steady whilst in an upright position.•Self clean function is simple to operate, if you ever make a mess out of the soleplate.• Steamless ironing for fabrics that arent suitable.• Water spritz feature• Adjustable steam controls: Eco, Turbo and Max.• Anti-drip system - the iron has an intelligent feature whereby it stops the steam water from dripping if the iron gets too cold when in use. In hard water areas, this is a much welcome addition as this excess drip-off is tainted by brownish limescale water, ruining your crisp whites.Temperature Dial:The large temperature dial is rigid and not so easily adjusted accidentally whilst you busy yourself with the ironing load. The Handle:The handle is an almost smooth plastic. For a hefty ironing load this does get quite uncomfortable. Inwould have preferred a softer grip.Bottom Line:For the very decent price of below £20 for this small and feature packed iron, I'm left very impressed.5 starsI hope you found this useful.

A nice lightweight iron with compact lines. The weight of the iron, including the cable, is 915 grams, which is about 30% lighter than our normal iron. I would estimate that it is about 15% smaller in overall size. There is a slight reduction in the surface area of the sole plate, which is nicely pointed to deal with awkward areas. Despite the smaller proportions, the water tank was the same size as our larger iron. Most of the reduction in size is achieved by reducing the height of the iron and as a consequence the distance between the underside of the handle and the main body. Whilst this is probably OK for most people, because I have quite big hands I found my fingers constantly rubbing on the temperature dial.Apart from being uncomfortable, I was concerned that over time the markings on the dial would be erased by this prolonged contact, leaving the user to have to guess at the right setting. The iron worked well on all the materials tried. However, being used to a heavier iron, I found there was a tendency to press harder to compensate. This and the problem with mentioned above regarding the handle would discourage me from using this iron for a marathon ironing session.Overall, this iron would be satisfactory for ironing the occasional item. However, I could see no advantage to its reduced weight and size, other than to facilitate its use as a vertical steamer or to use as a travel iron.My wife, who is more of an expert in this area, made the following observations; she would have preferred a slightly longer cable and the inclusion of small jug or funnel to facilitate refilling the water tank whilst ironing. Both of these things were supplied with our normal iron, which is the same make as this one.

This is a smart little iron and, if you're after something basic and simple to use, this is definitely the iron for you.You don't need a degree to use it; simply put water in (ideally distilled) set the temperature and use the controls for steam, water spraying, etc as required.I've tested this briefly and it works perfectly. It is a lot smaller than my existence iron, however and there unfortunately isn't a storage place for the plug, other than by wrapping it round the base of the iron and leaving the plug loose.I would say that this iron is aimed at someone after the basics at a reasonably cheap price. It's good quality, without any frills or fancy settings. This ideally suits someone who doesn't iron that frequently or has limited storage space.Even men, like myself, who do all the ironing in the household, will get on well with this. I would say that it's also perfect for those with smaller hands. My mother-in-law struggles with her current iron, so this is ideal for her as it's light weight and won't confuse her.Definitely a good value and recommended iron.If you've found my review helpful, please consider clicking the helpful box to say thanks.

Lovely compact iron, with a great affordable price. Super easy and simple to use. It arrived well packaged and in a decent sized box. Some manufacturers bulk out the box to make it 'look like your getting more for your money' so not loads of unnecessary packaging waste. Its lightweight and easy to hold. But strong and sturdy to stand on the board with no worry of knocking it over. It has a large filler cap, so easy to refill without tipping and spilling water everywhere. Has an easy store cable clip, so just wrap the cable around the base when your packing away and its kept securely in place by the little clip. The iron runs smoothly over clothing, although with the steam boost feature on a couple items ended up going over a couple times to completely remove the creases. The dial setting is very clear and easy to read, and with the heat settings you're able to find the right temperature you need. Comes with a 3 year guarantee. This ones perfect if your looking for a basic iron without spending a fortune, especially if your just starting out, dont use often or iron large loads.

I am already a fan of Morphy Richards products, as they are usually well designed with the end-user in mind, very simple to operate, and also good value for money.   I was very excited to try this light glide iron. I am not a fan of ironing and that is why I am always searching for a tool to make this chore as quick and painless as possible. Light glide iron is actually very light, heats up quickly, and does not need lots of preparation to start quick ironing. Produces short puffs of steam for more difficult creases. It is also small, so great for storing or even if you really need you can pack it in the suitcase while traveling. The soleplate glides smoothly over all kinds of materials, even jeans!  It would be a perfect iron if it had a longer power cord and a bigger tank. I also think that this iron is for people who do not do lots of ironing at one go. I, personally, will be using it mostly to iron my husband's shirts. For this task, it is perfect iron!

The iron is light to handle, making ironing a lot less tiring on the armIrons tend to have three types of sole plates, Ceramic, Stainless or Titanium, the Russell Hobbs features a ceramic sole plate, which makes the iron glide over garments, Ceramic plates have a good heat conducting capability, They distribute the heat evenly, prevent or eliminates statics and they prevent clothes from sticking on to the surface at higher temperaturesThe iron also features a steam boast shot to help remove stubborn creases.I do like this iron, its good value at just under £18, I’ve worked in the electrical retail trade for over 30 years and have seen so many irons, it is very hard to point to one that you’d say was the best,we had 96 different irons for sale at one time, this I’d have been very happy selling and recommending at this price point

We have had a large iron for several years now that has its own reservoir. It powers through a batch of ironing easily but takes up so much room. When you want one or two pieces done quickly something like the 'Morphy Richards 300401' works better as you can grab it quickly. This is mentioned as a light iron and it has less weight than many of this type. It does not hold a huge amount of water at once but will be enough for a few pieces of clothing. When I compare the glide to my higher end model, it is night and day. You do need to wet the material more and go over it a few times. This is all forgivable as it is a good quality iron at an affordable price. I am unsure that I would want it as my main iron as it has so few features, but it acts perfectly as the iron to break out occasionally.

This iron is extremely lightweight. It is a very small iron and I didn't expect too much from it. I am genuinely surprised at how good it was to get out creases. I tried it on a cotton shirt which was creased a bit more than usual from being left in my ironing pile for a couple of days. It didn't have any problems ironing these out.Having a clear tank you can see when you need to refill the water. It doesn't come with a refill cup but I think these days it's not needed as with the larger fill cap it's easy to fill straight from the ironing water bottle. It heated up quickly, has simple functions and comes with a cable clip to wrap the cable around the base for easy storage. This is a good qualitysmall iron that is definitely value for money.

Irons vary so much in price, and sometimes it's difficult to know whether it's worth paying a lot for one.It obviously depends on how much you use it - and these days, we don't seem to do much ironing at all.My old one was making some strange noises, so I thought a new one was in order. We only iron what we need to iron - basics like t-shirts, jeans, trousers, blouses, skirts, socks, underwear (I AM joking with those last two!)This iron works fine and has managed to iron a variety of clothing with no problems at all. It's a well known and well respected brand in the home appliances sector. And when it comes to electricals I prefer to stick with know brands rather than the unknown ones.If you're after a decent basic iron, this is it.

This is a light and compact iron that is great if you only need an iron for light ironing or occasional use. The iron is small so it is perfect if you have limited space. The compact and pointy tip is also great for ironing small items or getting into tricky areas. The size of this iron is also the biggest problem with it. I tried ironing some of my 100% cotton sewing fabrics and it is was hard work. It was difficult to get the creases out and I had to really push down on the iron. I think this iron is perfect if you only iron the odd item of clothing. If you are regularly ironing 100% cotton items or iron most of your clothes I think it is better to buy an iron that will do more of the workfor you.

This is a lightweight iron that for the price (£17.96 at the time of writing) represents brilliant value. The iron was easy to set up and had good instructions. Design-wise I really liked the blue and white aesthetic. You get a good length of cord and the ironing action is smooth as it glides over your clothing on the ceramic soleplate. I was surprised at how lightweight this was compared to our old iron but that doesn't mean the build quality has suffered. It is well made.Overall then this is an excellent value, no nonsense iron that does the job very well.

This is a lovely small sized iron that although is not as powerful as my existing iron, it does the same job.The iron is much lighter than my current and I do like that it makes it easier to glide the iron between clothing.Water capacity is at a decent amount which I am glad with and the large filter cap makes it easier to fill the iron up so less likely to have any spills.Overall it’s a decent budget friendly iron retailing at less than £20 aswell as being light and easy to store with the cable being wrapped around the base of the iron

3.10.2020

For the money this isn’t too bad an iron. It’s very lightweight and will be super for taking on holidays, or equally for the university/college student or even anyone not able to hold to much weight. For me this is great for a quick tidy up of clothing rather than a proper ironing session. The water tank is a fair size. Easy to use. Glides well, but does not have the weight or power to get some of the bigger creases out and probably better suited for lighter items of clothing. The cable is not the longest.

This is an alright entry-level steam iron. It does the job fine if you don't do lots of ironing. However, if you have a large family and to regularly ironing I would suggest (if your budget stretches) you go for a bigger and better iron.Great for a student or single person for an occasional bit of ironing. This iron is very lightweight but small in size. It is great value for money though, at 20 pounds (August 2020) you can't really complain. It does what its meant to do, just fine.

29.7.2020

quite small and light, this iron does everything that it ought to, reasonably well. I found that it heated up quickly enough and the steam function worked well enough. I use this iron for sewing projects etc where just a small amount of material needs pressing. If using for ironing larger items I could see it taking much longer than with my larger/heavier iron.As a basic iron, at this price, I think it is a pretty good deal.
