You'll find complaints online about Milwaukees tool-less blade change which is not as easy as some others i've used. When its not inserted fully it isn't aligned right so some of the complaints just talk about that not realising why its happening. I hope it will get easier with time but so far some blades need really careful insertion and you always need to visually check that the locking collar has spun back around fully, if it hasn't you need to take it out and try again. Basically you need to push it in far enough which on some blades requires a lot of force. Today it nearly cost me some fingers. If you are forcing the blade in,your other hand is grabbing around the area of the switch and i must have moved it to the on position while holding the blade. Considering USA love of lawsuits I'm surprised they have this flaw in the system. We all know its best practice to unplug a tool before changing a blade but with my old jigsaw there was so little chance of accidentally starting it and the change was so easy i got into a bad habit... don't be like me!Otherwise a great saw, the auto ramp up feature is good. A nice steady speed to start and once into the work it goes up to full speed. I much prefer a jigsaw that is able to be locked on for slow speed scroll work so i can guide it around without the speed changing or having to hold it in an awkward way. None of the previous Milwaukee jigsaws had it which stopped me from adding a jigsaw saw to my M12/M18 collection. The range of speed settings is perfect including one slow enough for metal and tight scrolls in thin materials.

Body grip gives far more control for precision work the auto controlled start mode is a great feature start slow and ramp up to full speed when load is detected, power is far greater than my 240 volt d-handle which I could never go back to, the dust blower is a good feature as you can always see the cut line power switch has to be held in the on-position for a second or two to turn on the tool which is a good safety feature when switching off the blade stops instantly, I like the weight 4.9 lbs of the jigsaw as there is very little vibration giving more control. The Milwaukee M18 FUEL Barrel Grip Jig Saw is a nice saw, it has a ton of power, and it plowed through all types of material easily and would recommend if you already have a Milwaukee collection.

A known issue with these is blade changes are a bit tricky. If you get it wrong it seems locked in but cuts at an angle. Its a matter of pushing it in far enough which with some blades means quite a lot of force. Your other hand will be near the on switch when you do it so REMOVE THE BATTERY before changes. I nearly lost my fingers yesterday... Otherwise an excellent saw

Great saw very powerful and smooth. Slightly on the heavy side but nevertheless I'm very happy with this saw.
