I've had one for years that's still in great shape and works perfectly. I bought this one as a gift for a family member who reports it's functioning just as well as the older one. I like that you can either hold the fruit over the zester and let the zest fall down into a pot, bowl or plate, or you can reverse it and use the zester from the top. When you do it that way, the tool collects the zest neatly in the curve of the wide blade.

Excellent.. very sharp.. remember to keep the plastic guards fitted both ends, they are not just for protection during transport... especially if you keep it in a draw, it will slice skin very easily, if the guards are not fitted and you are rummaging about in a drawer

A little larger than I had expected, but the important thing is that is works so far better than other "graters". Superb for grating ginger and for fine citrus grates without pith. VERY SHARP. Easy to use.

I bought this to replace my older design and it does what it's supposed to, however personally I preferred to curvier shape of the older style as it was more comfortable in my hand.
