A fantastic tool for grating spices, small quantities of chocolate or hard cheese and for creating citrus zest. Solidly constructed, it sits nicely in the hand and is both ergonomically and aesthetically pleasing. The grater is best used horizontally, so that the material gathers in the groove. It's extremely easy to clean and is devilishly sharp, so the safety cover (supplied) is a definite must when it's not in use. The blade measures 13cm x 1.2cm, and the handle 10cm x 3cm, so it's a handy size to store in a utensil jar.

As far as I'm concerned you can't beat Microplane's graters (apart from the little plastic surrounded citrus ones that I think they've stopped making anyway, they were rubbish). Comfortable to hold and perfect for nutmeg and cinnamon. Easy to clean and will last for years and years.

Nothing compares to freshly ground nutmeg and this tool is perfect for the job. The curved surface is quite sharp and grinds into the heart of the nutmeg. The handle is sturdy, and prevents loss of skin and nails. I use this every day.

This microplane grater is amazing, easily zest oranges, limes lemons and also grates parmesan and traps the zest etc in the back so that you can effortlessly remove it.

As a keen home chef I used to spend a long time preparing ginger and garlic. This was what I had been missing in my life, sharp, easily controlled and easy to clean.

Excellent. Sits neatly over the dish when grating nutmeg directly onto a pudding. Far and away easier than using an upright grater.
