Bought this for my 6 year old daughter. It was quite challenging for her and she needed a little help with her first build. However, this is a great introduction to meccano. The bucket comes with instructions for several different builds and the pieces are a lot bigger than typical meccano. It relies on a screwdriver to tighten the pieces together as opposed to Allan keys which come with the more grown up version.My daughter enjoyed the build and later playing with her model. It will need a bit of supervision though so be prepared to help out from time to time.

This item is a present for the future birthday of a grandson. The product looked good the price seemed right so we bought it. Collecting it was fine but since then the constant requests for reviews of the service given and the product itself have put me off using Argos again unless there is no alternative.I can't submit this without a star rating, which is hard as the present has yet to be given, but as it refers to the item, not the service, I have just given 5 stars across the board.

A creative and imaginative toy that will have mileage in it and my grandson will enjoy throughout the year unlike some toys that are one minute wonders. It allows him to develop his own ideas and make what he wants as well as following instructions to make some cars and planes that the kit provides for. It is also good as you can add to it over time and it is not prohibitively expensive.

Bought this for a 6 year old boy and he absolutely loves it!Can’t go wrong with Meccano. Creative and imaginative construction toys which plenty of opportunity for the child to 'invent' others from the pieces included.Great for fine motor control and helping children concentrate on one task my increasing their attention span instead of being distracted by gadgets/tablets/phones.

Really good value for money. My son used his birthday money to buy this, I was trying to swap him toward the classic metal meccano but this has kept him quiet for hours. The robot and plane are much bigger than expected. He is yet to build the other items from the instruction book. It’s a thumbs up from me.

This is the second meccano bucket I have bought but as they are for Christmas presents I have not opened them. They feel quite heavy so I am sure everything will be to the liking of my two grandsons aged 5 and 3, who are Lego mad but I thought this would be a change for them.

My son loves this bucket of Meccanno, only down side is the extra instuctions you vuew online are difficult to search for, the website is difficult to navigate therefore for a 6 year old it wasn't great for him who is new to Meccanno and working out how to use it.

I bought this for my 7yr old son, the instructions are simple enough for him to follow but still needs needs a little guidance.He likes to build and play however the finished models cannot be played with as the nuts and bolts come loose but he still loves it!!!

Great value for money compared to some of the box sets, and has many different model ideas to make. Meccano has been around years and it is great quality and versatile fun. Perfect as a gift for a 6 year old who is very into building and creating.

I like Meccano, and this is a versatile pack at a good price. I rather wish it was metal, like in the old days, so it would last a long time and not end up as plastic waste. Pity but what can you do if you can't buy metal Meccano?

Always loved the real Meccano as a child so was over the moon when I found this for my 5yr old.It is a little tricky but he loves making his own creations and the parts hold together well.Definitely worth the money.

Lovely bucket full of hours of fun, the kids have loved building cars, buggies and all sorts of different things, whilst the price is a little high, what you get is worth it, and the fact it will last forever too, great

My sons - now in their 40`s had the equivalent as kids . my granddaughter now enjoys playing with the now depleted set so I purchased this set for Christmas. on initial inspection looks a good buy

I needed some modular system to prototype a design I was working on and, although not as good as the original metal Meccano, this worked fine. It even had just enough pieces for what I needed.

Good birthday present! Bought for a 4 year old who is into construction. They will be needing help with some of the suggested models for a while but what a great introduction to Meccano.
