I am really impressed with this Maybelline palette. At the time of posting, this is retailing at £8.99 and for that price you get 12 shades that complement each other well and can be used to create nude and smokey eye looks for day to day wear or for evenings. On the back of the packaging there are 3 suggested ways to use this palette's shades to create different looks- as duos, trios or quads, and Maybelline has suggested which colours tend to go well together. The colours here range from very light pink, up to very dark brown and there are lots of nice mid brown tones. It is worth noting that most of these shadows are shimmery and so may not be what everyone is looking for,if you prefer a matte look on your eyes.I have attached a photo showing the shades against my skin, which is fair. Most impressive for me about this selection is that 3 of these 'samples' on my arm outlasted a proper shower, with the colours being really pigmented and long lasting. You only need a single layer of these shadows and they do last through the day in my experience.Enclosed in the palette is a double ended applicator, with a sponge at one end and brush the other. The full casing is 3 inches by 5 inches, with each shadow being an inch by just over half an inch in size. This is a great size to slip in a bag for touch ups or a change of look on the go.

Maybelline have a great range of mid-range make-up aimed at the teen through to forties age group. I'm a big fan of nude palettes and I guess that the brand leader is probably Urban Decay, but if you're like me, short of a few bob or two, you'll be seeking a cheaper alternative. A popular parenting website often discusses such topics on its Style and Beauty pages and Superdrug's MUA nude palettes sell at less than half of this Maybelline product. The blushed nudes: I'm (ahem) middle-aged with blondeish hair, blue eyes and a fair skin, so these particular set of colours is very suitable. I applied four of the colours this morning using a double-ended eyeshadow/eyeliner brush and they went on smoothly and evenly.I used the brown speckly shade in conjunction with a slanted eyeliner brush to create a soft line definition above the top and below the lash line. It looked good and was very quick to apply, which is a bonus if one is rushing around trying to get one's child off to school! In regard to staying power, I had my eyebrows threaded this morning and it made my eyes run, but I've just checked and my shadow hasn't budged whatsoever. So: I can honestly say, hand on heart, that I really recommend this product.

This is a very nice set of subtle eye shadows. The colours are definitely on the barely-there side of makeup, which I love. The box is a little tricky to open, I certainly can't do it one handed. There is clearly a knack to it that I haven't discovered yet - I have to pick the box up and get my thumb nail under the latch to open it.There is a double ended brush supplied. One end has soft bristles that are maybe 5 x 2mm at the ferrule playing out to around 8 x 4mm. This end is very good at picking up lots of colour, but not at all good at putting it on precisely. The other end of the brush has a sponge applicator that doesn't pick up much colour but does blend the colour that you've already applied very well.If you rub your eyes at all then this is NOT the eye shadow for you,it rubs away to nothing very quickly. You can use these eye shadows as an eye liner with reasonably good staying power if you use a damp small pointy brush. Applied this way it withstands normal amounts of eye rubbing well.It copes well with wrinkly eyes, I did not feel that my wrinkles were emphasised by this eye shadow.

The Blushed Nudes is a nice, basic nude eyeshadow palette. The thing I particularly liked about this palette is that there are both brown, grey and pink shades and I find a lot of nude palettes just focus on one of these colour groups. There are twelve colours and they are all very wearable so this is great value for money. I found the eyeshadows themselves were very pigmented and applied well, although I did notice that the colour started to crease as the day wore on. I would definitely use a primer with these. My main complaint about this palette is that there are far too many sparkly shades. I mainly use nude palettes for work so I don't really want sparkly eyelids!I did also think the plastic packaging seems quite flimsy and brittle so I am not sure how long it will last if I carry it around with me for touch-ups. I think I would use a higher-end nude palette for everyday use, but I think this Maybelline product is great for those on a budget or if you mainly want to use it to create the occasional glam smokey-eye look.

This is a really nice budget option of a nude palette if you find the price of the market leader too dear. The range of shades is very similar. There's a mix of matte and shimmer shades and also the back of the pan shows you how to combine the colours in twos and threes, if you're not quite sure how to start experimenting. The colour payoff is good, though not as good as the more expensive palette. I found it went on really smoothly, but at the end of the day it wasn't as visible on my lids and had settled into the creases a little. Having said that, it is very portable and when I went away for a weekend recently, I took it with me, as it is very easy to travel with. The shades very from off white and cream to a gun metal grey. I tend to use the taupe shade the most which is a good colour, similar to sating taupe by Mac.

My partner likes these eye shadow colours so was pleased to try them out. The following is her opinion. The case was a little scratched, probably just because it was put in a cardboard envelope for posting, would have been better wrapped in bubble wrap or a protective sleeve. With the scratches, it meant it could not really be given as a present. If it's for yourself, then it would be OK.You get 2 applicators with 2 tips, so 4 applicators total. With blending etc, you have 4 uses before you will get colour bleed from mixing the colours. A few more applicators would have been nice. The colours are nice, easy to apply and last. This is the best part. If you can forgive scratches on the case and 2 applicators for 12 colours, then this is the perfect assortment. I will be buying more when they run out.

Small palette of basic Maybelline eye shadow in 12 different shades ranging from nude through to black. The palette opens to reveal a small mirror and just one foam tipped applicator. Colour wise I'd say I get more of a sparkly shadow after application rather than a thick, block colour or matte effect. The eye shadow is decent quality for a budget compact but it does wear away quite quickly and also sinks into lines and creases. I have to top up and smooth the shadow out after a few hours. Achieving a blended/smudged effect is easy because the powder is so light but; I definitely need more than one applicator. Decent palette, good range of colour and something here to suit no matter your skin/hair tone.Happy to recommend.

Maybelline The Nudes Palette is as expected from Maybelline, reasonable quality but still a fairly budget brand so overall good value for money - fairly nicely pigmented shadows and a decent amount in each compartment. The product I received is true to description, image, and I know this is the genuine product from handling the real-deal in store too. Overall it's a nice little palette with all the shades nicely complimenting each other, a good mixture of mattes and glittery shades too. The only reason for my review lacking a star is because the shades are a little dull so with my colouring I look a little washed-out,I'd have liked a rose pink or peachy color to lift-up the colouring with this palette a little bit.

I love these. The colours are a really good mix from neutrals to smokey and it can be used for day make-up or switched up for a cool evening look. It comes with an applicator but it's one of the sponge ones that I don't anyone ever actually uses? I wish these palettes would come with a decent quality brush instead. Moving on, the staying power of the shadows is decent and I found no issues with wear or colour slipping. The only slight downer I have for these is that one of the colours (the blush pink which is my favourite) was split when it arrived. The top half of the colour block had separated and was hanging out over on another part of the palette. All in all,a great alternative to more expensive palettes.

This is the perfect eye make up set for day or evening wear. There are various different shades from pale creamy brown, to dark brown and black. It's a mix of shimmer and matte shades, with more in the shimmery shadows.Once on and blended it does not budge and has very good staying power. I have mature skin and this has just the right amount of shimmer without looking over done. These are perfect for party eyes in the forthcoming festive season. There are 12 shades inside this generous package along with an applicator. The black gives a really rich colour and is perfect close to the lashes for a smokey look.I think this is outstanding value for money from a reliable tried and trusted brand.

I decided to treat myself to this eyeshadow palette after seeing good reports about itThe eyeshadows are very versatile and you are able many looks from natural day time to a smokey night time look. The eyeshadows have a high pigment so they show up well and are easy to blend. You can use the shadows as duos, trios and quads. The pack of the palette shows how this can be used. The applicator that comes with the palette is useful and is really good enough to apply the shadow. I especially like the fact that one end of it has a precision tip which can be used to apply the darker shadow as an eye liner. The eyeshadows last well all day without smudging.I would highly recommend this product

Word of warning - the product image is slightly different to the real thing. There isn't such a defined space between each colour and instead of two brushes you get one brush. However, I think the brush that comes with the product is better than the one pictured. It is longer and has one foam firmer brush - perfect for patting in colour and one soft-hair brush perfect for blending colours. The colour themselves are a beautiful mix of natural pinks, browns and plums. It is a lovely set of colours to play around with creating both day time and more dramatic evening looks.Overall a lovely collection of eye shadows which are great value for money

I have seen very mixed reviews on maybelline new Yorks 'the blushed nudes' palette. Personally I love this palette. The colours a really pigmented even without a primer, there is 12 colours in different shades which allows you to make your own personalised eye look.As well as this there is also small instructions on how to create different eye looks with this palette if you are uncomfortable just going in and using any colour you want.Only one small issue with this palette is that there is no mirror. Which I would prefer as it turns the product into something that you can use on the go. However overall I love this product!!

This is a really pretty selection of neutral colours that would be ideal to use every day for a quick low key look or they could be used to make a dramatic look for going out. This palette has everything I need! It includes a range of warm and cool shades which are matte, satin and shimmery.I really enjoy the quality of these eyeshadows as they are very pigmented and they are easy to blend out too. This is very impressive for the price since you don't usually get such good quality in cheaper eyeshadows.I think I will be looking for more eyeshadows from maybelline because they are so affordable and good value for money!

I have only recently started eye shadow as my experiences as a child with blue eye shadow had scarred me for life. But I decided to get this palette as the colours were gentle enough to not be as noticeable if I made a mistake. They blend lovely and provide a subtle colouring which is exactly what I was after. haven't got around to using the black one yet, but after a bit more testing I might just get there! The size is perfect for travelling as well, easily fits in my make up bag for any touch ups I may need for when I occasionally rub my eyes without realising.Have recommended this product to a few people!
