This is a stunning colour; it's pretty neutral in a pink-brown shade that I think will suit every skin tone. There's the tiniest hint of a scent to this, which reminded me of chocolate and vanilla - duh, the shade is chocolate lust! It's not at all overpowering and after a few minutes on, it fades.The colour glides on easily, but it is very translucent, so if you like a deeper colour or more than a hint of colour, you'll likely need a few coats. The image above shows 3 passes, so this is the built-up version, and it's very shiny, just like the ad says.The lipstick lifts and lowers easily with the mechanism in the base, but I noticed that it didn't go all the way back down, even when I tried again,

Maybelline Color Sensational Shine Compulsion Lipstick, 65 Spicy Mauve is a very nice shade of lipstick which personally I do like for the main reason it really is a very nice lipstick to wear. I love how soft and silky smooth it is once applied, it provides a wonderful deep colour which can be toned down by blotting as blotting does not only allow the lipstick to stay on my lips for a longer period of time between applications but it also lessens the bright tone as well as the glossy finish.It is really up to the wearer how they want this lipstick to look, either a fabulous bright glossy burnt reddish tone or a nice healthy delicate "nearly red with an added taupe " colour which not only makes

This is a super shiny almost laminated gloss look lipstick but packing pigment, this is slightly more muted than other colours in this range I've tried but it's a soft gold toned brown and the super glossy finish has a slight iridescence and makes it almost metallic in finish .If you don't kiss or drink anything for 5-10 minutes post application it stays on reasonably well. I don't use a lip brush to apply, it goes straight from the bullet lovely, though due to the oil content it has a tendency to smear around the tube so bear that in mind if you like your lipstick bullet looking pristine.This colour though neutral can be a bit hard to carry if not matched well either to complexion Or the rest of the makeup,

This is a super shiny almost laminated gloss look lipstick but truly packing pigment, you don't need to sacrifice colour for gloss, here Spicy Sangria is a lovely squished blueberries and blackberries purple red without veering into goth.The finish is perfectly glossy and if you don't kiss or drink anything for 5-10 minutes post application it stays in a good time. I am (still) young enough not to need a lip brush to apply, it goes in beautifully straight from the bullet, though due to the oil content it has a tendency to smear around the tube so bear that in mind if you like your lipstick bullet looking pristine.I really like this as an everyday pick me up bloom of colour when I want to feel a little glamorous,

This is a super shiny almost laminated gloss look lipstick but packed with pigment, this is great as sometimes you have to sacrifice gloss for pigment or pigment for gloss, here you get a lovely rich honeyed deep caramel with a hint of fleshy pink.The finish is perfectly glossy and if you don't kiss or dri anything for 5-10 minutes post application it stays in a good time. I am (still) young enough not to need a lip brush to apply, it goes in beautifully straight from the bullet, though due to the oil content it has a tendency to smear around the tube so bear that in mind if you like your lipstick bullet looking pristine.I really like this as an everyday better than nude but works with a range of colour,

This Sensational Shine Compulsion Lipstick works well in conjunction with the Maybelline Color Sensational Shaping Lipliner 08 Gone Griege colour to produce perfect lips. It arrived in a very distinctive shiny pink case.The red/brown lipstick feels soft and oily, but not in a bad way. The 'ultra-shiny color finish' is provided by moisturising oils in the ingredients and it certainly shows. When it dries it becomes both shiny and surprisingly resistant to wear. We weren't expecting the aroma, though, which is like a mix of dough and sweet cooked chocolate, though don't worry as it's not too heavy.We were also expecting a slightly browner hue but this worked out far better,

This lipstick comes in a very attractive rose-gold case with the twist up lipstick cut on the diagonal, as most are these days. It glides on nicely, smells sweetly perfumed (a bit like children's play-dough) and has a lovely satin sheen to it. It is not as heavily pigmented as it first appears when it goes on. After a while it seemed to soak in and fade a little. It is nicely moisturising but because of this it transfers easily onto mugs/glasses etc.My little gripe is that it is way darker than the product photograph at the top of this page. If it was as the colour is shown I would be very happy, but the actual plum/wine colour of the lipstick is too dark for me.

I think this shade of orange will pretty much suit every complexion - it's not a bright, stark colour, but one that goes on and looks more like a tinted gloss, without the stickiness. It has a lovely vanilla smell, not the orange that I was expecting (the chocolate shade I got smells of chocolate and vanilla, so...). It makes your lips feel soft.Unfortunately, I think the colour makes it not go on quite as smoothly as the brown - with this, I needed about 4 passes to get it even (as in the shot above) and that meant that a little too much had been used, and I ended up with a little blob of colour that means more blending in is needed.I do like this range for its colours and its lovely tube,

This lipstick is provided in a pretty rose gold plastic casing. The lipstick has a sweet, baking-like scent to it. The texture is really, really soft. Quite a lot of lipstick goes on at once. This feels very moisturising in wear - more like a lip balm or lip gloss than a lip stick - and when newly applied has quite a shiny, moist appearance. Despite the softness, this does seem to give good definition, and not to be too prone to bleeding.The Chocolate Lust colour of this lipstick is a mid brown with reddish/orangey hints to it. This isn't a colour I would have picked out in a shop, but I quite liked it in wear. The shiny finish doesn't last long against a cup of coffee, leaving more of a tint behind,

This does feel very moisturising in wear - more lip a lip balm or lip gloss than a lip stick. This does seem a bit prone to bleeding, so definitely one I'll use a lip liner with and perhaps also a lipstick sealer. The a lot of the colour transfers when you go to eat or drink, so this is left as more of a lip stain than a lip stick quite quickly. Definitely needs reapplication if you want to retain the shiny appearance,The Spicy Sangria colour of this lipstick is a dark wine red.

This is my third lipstick from the Maybelline Colour Sensation Shine range. All shades come in a stylish and pretty robust pinky gold case and look more expensive than their mid-range price point. The texture of the lipstick is smooth, moist and very glossy. This means that it's not a long-lasting colour, even when applied with a brush. However, reapplication is easy due even without a mirror to the smooth texture of the product.The Chocolate Lust shade is not as dark or dramatic as it sounds but it's definitely a shade which will suit dark colouring better. Because it's quite glossy it doesn't have that thick, dull appearance that some brown lipsticks can have.

I was asked if I’d like to review the Maybelline Color Sensational Shine Compulsion Lipstick, 55 Taupe Seduction, and I said yes.This actually looks a lot darker on the product page then it is.A nice lipstick, which is lovely and creamy and doesn’t dry your lips out. :-)Looks great when you’re wearing it and has a lovely shine. :-)It also has long staying power, (was still looking well after it had been on for over five hours). :-)I can recommend this lipstick.12/11/19Have just bought another one of these but I have a WARNING, the people working in the Amazon Warehouse are sending the wrong ones when you buy them the have sent on 055 Taupe Seduction Shine/Eclat instead of the 55.

I'd been expecting a purple hue to this colour seeing as it was called mauve but it's a pale brown shade closer to hazelnut so not sure what the spicy refers to. There's an oily sheen to the lipstick and that's the only thing that dropped it to 4 stars for me in that it felt very greasy and left a greasy patch on cups which was difficult to remove. Kept its colour for a few hours but no more than that so if wearing for a night out make sure you take it with you as you'll be applying at regular intervals. Had a nice flat edge for application rather than the ready made lip shape that some sticks do and it went on well. Would happily buy and use again but wouldn't be a firm favourite.

However, reapplication is easy due even without a mirror to the smooth texture of the product.The Taupe Seduction is a gorgeous pinky-beige daytime colour - my natural colour but better. Spicy Mauve is a more dressy, deeper plum shade, but not scarily purple like some.At this price point these are great lipsticks.
