I'm not a contouring expert, but my 14 year old is - so we've both trialled it. Price wise, for me this is a very good price, for a teen a bit costly. Packaging is good, the case is solid, and it is refillable. I haven't been able to find the refills online (I think it is a new product so it is probably a matter of time), but if I could refill this and choose the exact shades I wanted, this could be very useful!The instructions are very simple and very effective. This palette provides a range of shades to contour, lift and highlight that is trying to capture a broad market I suspect. The bottom row of shades work well on teen's slightly olive skin tone (not the darkest shade)

What surprises me most about this contouring palette is that it's not a brush-on powder, but little creamy blocks of colour. The second surprise is the lack of applicator. Contouring is probably second only in popularity to Celebrity Eyebrows, and this collection certainly has a good range of shades to work with.There's quite an art to this contouring lark and I haven't got the hang of it yet; when I was a teenage all that was available was a tube of a white, shimmery sort of cream, which was applied to the cheekbones. Anyway, I tried using some of these using my fingers – not so good, then a sponge – better. Once on the skin it can be blended with a brush.The packaging is lovely; it's a plain,

This is a lovely kit for the price. The quality of the product is very good and the colours are easily blended together on your skin. I’m a bit more of a fan of powders than creams but this is pretty good regardless. Maybe I’ll be converted to creams but they blend so well. Some of the dark colours are very dark but they can be blended much lighter. This is advertised as having a universal palette and I have to agree. If you search on the internet there are plenty of top and videos on how to best use this and I’ve found them very useful.

Ordered for 16 year old daughter who has fair to mid complexion.Contains 8 colours: 4 lighter shades for highlighting and illuminating and 4 darker for contouring. The lighter shades range from more yellow based through to peachier shades. The darker ones include a lighter beige shade, a coffee shade, an orange tan and a much darker tan. Something to suit all skin types.The texture is creamy and the colours are easy to blend.Each individual palette is a good size and can be popped out to be replaced if needed.

Now bearing in mind that I’ve never done contouring before I have to say I was impressed with this little kit. There are instructions on what to do and where to apply the different colours on the back of the packaging. There is a wide range of colours to experiment with, depending on your own skin tone and being a cream it is easy to apply. The end result was quite subtle and pleasing.

What I like:Price - very competitive.I liked the product and have now had a lesson in “contouring” from my makeup savy daughter and I am impressed with the effect.What I don’t like:Actually too many colours - I don’t think any skin shade could use all the colours - I’m quite pale and can only realistically use 4.

A great first palette for learning how to contour. Not sure how much use the darker colours will get, but perhaps they can be used as eye shadow. They are smooth to use and blend quite easily on young skin. Not so good on older skin as they tend to highlight creases and imperfections and end up looking a bit cakey.

I mix the two darker shades to use to contour my nose and cheek bones and blend out. I probably wouldn't use the concealer myself as it is too thick for me, but it is perfect for contouring.

Superb palette from max factor.The eight shades are very complimentary and work well together.I found contouring and blending easy and the palette should last a good while.

Really well presented and has a nice range of colours that apply easily. Some are a little too dark but the others are nice enough. Good variety none the less.

Its really nice and blends well. I like the different shades so you can go for a natural daytime look to a morw dramatic night time look.
