In consistency this is very similar to a famous luxury brand primer that probably inspired this in the first place and it is really good for adding 'tooth' to your eyelid allowing powder shadows to grip and last longer without creasing, rubbing off or your face absorbing it. This product is excellent for hot weather (I tend to get wearing on outer eye crease in summer heat) or for when you need to guarantee your eye makeup will grip, it can also intensify the colour as it doesn't diffuse as well into the skin when applied. This isn't for strong, diffused or smokey eyes if you have basic blending skills, though those looks do require skills to begin with using this requires a little more cardio! But it can help if you get a lot of wearing, whether down to your skin type, activities or environment you just have to be careful not to apply too much at first and try not to get any on your eyelashes as that is basically awful to dela with. It's also not the most pleasant experience for very dry skin as it mattifies the surface preventing natural oils from lifting the product, which can feel odd if you're not used to it BUT it helps your eye makeup last and last and last.Definitely worth the extra step in your base routine.

My wife tried this, and loved it – she thought it was a brilliant idea, and really wished it had been around years ago.“This comes in a long tube with a sponge applicator, just like a lip gloss. It is a very pale beige, which helps make it invisible on your eyelids if you overshoot the area you apply your shadow to. It is the same size as a lip gloss tube too, so will fit well inside your make-up bag. When it dries, a few seconds, it provides the perfect base for you to apply your eyeshadow or anything else you want on your eyelids. It keeps the shadow from seeping into the creases on your eyelids as it provides a secure barrier between your lids and your shadow. You can rest assured that anything applied in the morning before work will still be in place when you get home afterwards.I have only tried this in the autumn, so I have no idea how it will behave during the hot summer days, but for me three seasons out of four with perfect eyes is a wonderful thought.”

I am not sure that it enhances the colour depth, but my favourite powder eye shadow did last longer than usual without creasing…i.e. all day and most of the night at a recent function that went on and on and on!ooOoo❆ COTY❆ MAX FACTOR X❆ MIRACLE PREP❆ EYESHADOW PRIMERSIZE : 6 ml‘Made in the UK’ooOooThe eyeshadow primer is simply presented in a plastic-type bag and in a cardboard outer for safe transit. The WHITE & GOLD coloured container is around 1.5 cm in diameter and stands around 11 cm tall. The GOLD coloured top unscrews to reveal the wand. I am not so keen on the inbuilt, sponge-tipped applicator, which is slightly angled at the tip,so I tend to use a small amount and blend via my little finger. The CREAM coloured eyeshadow primer has a light scent and feels damp on first contact.A little goes a fair way, in my experience.

Every time I put eyeshadow on, it seems to crease or fade away, or drop down the side of my eyes like glittery teardrops. This primer really does the job of keeping it in place! I applied it, then some shimmery silver liquid eyeshadow that saw me through the day and night of New Year’s Eve. It was in fact, quite a job to take it off with my eye makeup remover! My only gripe is that the consistency of the primer is quite thick and the colour is very bright – like a beigey, creamy colour – so it shows up a lot on the eyelid. It can be quite smeary as well so it takes some getting used to in order to apply smoothly. If you’re not careful, it can ‘spill over’ and can end up in places you don’t want it to,such as the brow area, and as it’s not clear, is easily visible. Overall though, it does what it needs to.

I have used primer on my eyelids for years to make my eyeshadow stand out more and last longer. Some of the more well known brands (Urban Decay) work great but are out of my budget. This Max Factor product is a really good high street alternative. It applies almost like a foundation on the eyelids, and went on easily - you don't have to put much on at all, and you don't really see it, it just forms a base. I found that this did make my shadow last longer and made it look a bit more prominent. As someone else mentioned, it maybe didn't allow for as much blending of the shadow, maybe I just have to let it dry a bit longer. I don't know if this will replace my fave NYX jumbo eye pencil (Yogurt!)as my base of choice, but I'm giving it a thumbs up.

I’ve never used a prep eyeshadow primer before. But this is amazing. I always get creased lids from what I call oily lids. With this I used my moisturiser, then my primer on my face, then foundation. I don’t put foundation on my eye area. So I put this on and left it to dry. Then I patted it dry with banana powder. It was then I added the powder shadow. It went on a breeze. And it stayed in place. I even tried it with a cream eyeshadow. That worked really well. For the money you get a product that truly works. And the price is amazing. I have recommended this to all my friends to try.

I read the reviews and was worried about the reports of it being like glue, but if I'm honest, I got it on a bit of a gamble, as I needed something inexpensive and quick! To my delight, and relief, I'm really happy with it. I don't find it tacky at all, it goes on smooth and it does the job. It's not the best I've ever tried, but it's not like I'm searching for the Holy Grail. It's light and travel friendly, the wand is great (you don't need to apply to finger tips first), doesn't crease, all in, it's a product I'd happily repurchase.

This does exactly what it claims to - by applying to your lids before applying your eye shadow it really does seem to keep it firmly in place all day. I usually use powder on my lids before eye shadow which helps a little but this keeps it firmly in place without fading. You can't see it on your lids really before applying and doesn't affect the colour of your shadow when its on. Will be continuing to use this and it's a great deal on Amazon currently! Keeps your lids looking great from morning through to evening - recommended!

A good primer, lays down a fairly tacky ivory shade substance that dries fairly quickly then helps to cling onto eyeshadow and bring the pigment out a bit more than just laying on a bare lid. Helps blend the shadow with a good brush and holds onto the shadow all day...I didn’t notice any creasing, which is nice, but I was sure to apply the product and blend it out first so it didn’t have cause to gather in the folds of my lids.Very easy to apply, actually felt this worked better than some luxury ones I’ve tried.

This is one of those products you may not have realised that you needed, until you try it. I applied it after eye cream. Then put on my eyeliner, then eye shadow. The first key point is that the eyeliner stayed in place. I have one of those faces where the eyeliner invariably slides down, and I look like I have a line across the eye bag just at the point I go into a key meeting. Never a good look. It didn't happen. Plus, the eye shadow retained colour strength for longer. I'm really impressed.

As any woman who wears glasses to correct myopia knows, making one's eyes stand out under the lenses is really important. This is why I like to use a good eyeshadow base/primer. This looks like a pale concealer and is easily applied to the lid and brow bone by the sponge tipped wand. It did make the whole area feel tacky, which is good in some ways because it means that the eyeshadow will stay put ... but blending and smudging one's powder liner proved much more difficult.

My wife asked me to order this a she was interested to see if actually made any difference. The product is applied with a small brush to the eyelid. Once applied it is quite tacky which means that eye shadow adheres to it extremely well. It does seem to give a slightly smoother finish than if the eye shadow is applied without it and my wife was happy with the effect.Only downside is that it takes more effort to remove at the end of the evening, otherwise very good.

This primer is excellent for keeping your eye shadow in place for longer. Colours are more obvious throughout the day as the same level of absorption and colour fading does not occur as it would normally, so bright colours remain bright and more subtle colours remain beautiful throughout the day. It also helps to keep your eyeliner colour maintained, and overall, keeps your eye makeup looking fresh throughout the day. Very happy with this product.

I have never tried a product like this before, but was intrigued about the concept. It comes in a well-presented and well thought out container with an applicator that is easy to useIt dries fast and it's easy to apply makeup afterwards and the makeup does stay in place with this under. I have not noticed a massive difference with or without, but it does seem to help somewhat.

I have used eye primers in the past and haven't been that impressed, but this one actually works! I just applied a little to my eyelid and waited for it to dry before applying any eyeshadow. My makeup didn't crease or disappear as much as it usually does which is great! I have recommended it to my sister and niece who have similar issues with creasing and flaking eye makeup.
