FOUNDATION FOUNDATION FOUNDATION================================A good foundation is essential for flawless-looking skin, but it's almost impossible to get right. There are the shades to consider, powders, creams. Too much and you look like a CLOWN. Too little and you look a little unfinished.FLAWLESS SKIN=============When you see someone with flawless, natural skin they have generally chosen their foundation well.CREAM? STICK? LIQUID? POWDER? TIPS!=================================Which type? Your skin type will tell you what to use.DRY: choose a liquid, stick, or hydrating powder foundation. Liquids and sticks both have a creamy (moisturising) consistency.OILY: use oil-free liquid or powder foundation. They contain powders that absorb oil, leaving you with a matte, smooth finish.COMBINATION: apply a powder foundation strategically.MATCHING THE SHADE TO YOUR SKIN TONE===================================TIP- match it to your chest. If you test the shade in a shop test it on the back of your hand and then walk outside to see it in normal lighting. It's often worth asking at a department store for a makeover. (loads of them do them outside of Christmas) and they'll get the pigment right. Don't be afraid of mixing shades.OK, WHAT ABOUT THIS ONE?=======================It's beautiful. Light and is one of the better foundations I've tried. It's very lightweight, easy to apply and best applied with a sponge. Finger will do though.I felt it gave superb coverage and didn't leave me feeling greasy, caked or heavy. It's gives a "natural" look too.

Max Factor Healthy Skin Harmony Foundation is currently my #1 foundation.I have well moisturized skin but find many foundations make my skin appear dry, thus making me look older or making my skin look less than healthy, this foundation is true to its word on 24 hour hydration and keeps my skin looking plump as well as fresh - although I'm not sure about shine control, as I use a lot of oil in my skincare routine maybe this counters that as unlike with other foundations my skin has more of a dewy look than a matte look with this foundation. With pale skin I tend to go for pale colours whereas the Beige 55 has a little more of a yellow tone which actually made my skin look like it had a bit of a natural glow to it,so I love this colour and it's made me rethink my shade choices. It's a standard glass bottle with pump-action, you have good control over how much product you get out the bottle and the pump stays fairly clean. It's easy to apply too, a thinner foundation it doesn't give amazing coverage but more a natural look and smooth application. Overall this foundation has made my skin look younger, whereas I'd normally go for a paler colour and more of a matte look this foundation has given me a natural-looking glow, by keeping my skin hydrated it's not oily but has a nice dewy look.

I was given this to try in the colour "natural". Unfortunately this was too dark for my pale complexion and gave me an orangey appearance. This, of course, is the problem with buying something like foundation on-line. I would recommend going into a shop to choose the right colour and then buying on-line (assuming it is cheaper on-line!). I think the ivory colour would have been a better choice for me. Nevertheless I tried to give this foundation a fair trial by wearing it around the house (and garden) for a full day. I liked the pump action dispenser which made it easy to apply and ensured that you didn't get too much on your finger. It applied smoothly and evenly and gave good coverage.I especially liked the fact that it contained sun screen (SPF20). This is obviously not sufficient for sun-bathing but then you wouldn't wear foundation to sunbathe. It is, however, ample for normal day to day use in the UK and, of course, it saves wearing sun screen under the foundation. It is obviously a personal choice, but I prefer a more lightweight foundation and one which is more moisturising. Overall I prefer a more natural look. However, for those who prefer heavier coverage this is a good foundation at a fair price.

With tanned olive skin, the beige 55 is the ideal colour choice for me (the natural will probably look better in the height of the winter when the tan fades). I was surprised that the foundation arrived in such a heavy glass container with a fairly flimsy plastic top which provides a cover for the pump applicator. The combination means that this product is a little larger than many other similar foundations on the market. It is not great for travelling, in my opinion, due to the weight and size. I also suspect the plastic top may crack with excessive use if packed or crushed beneath the weight of other baggage. However, I did like the pump applicator although this can be messy especially when used with fingers and around the lip of the pump, after use. The foundation is easy to apply and to smooth onto the face. It did not look unnatural and definitely moisturised – leaving the face with an even skin tone and soft to the touch. The good news is that the product did not collect in the facial wrinkles or irritate sensitive skin! I do not usually use a foundation but look forward to using this product on a daily basis, especially as it provides sunray protection: a bonus on sunny days.

Natural 50 - gave a very natural colour given I'm usually pale English tone - but clinging on to the end of a summer tan! I have found I need to moisturise my face generously to help work this in smoothly and avoiding it looking too pastey. You really don't need much; I just applied it with my fingers and it gave good coverage and a lovely natural look which I am much more comfortable with. A dab of concealer, a quick brush of blush and I am out the door.I'm a bit concerned after a couple of days I may have developed an allergic reaction (my eyes are streaming). I'm still in the process of working out if it's the moisturiser which is also a new addition. This Skin Harmony Foundation does have a lot more ingredients and chemicals than my usual brand so I'll report beck if it is this product. It would be such a shame because I like using this and it is a heck of a lot cheaper than my usual brand.I usually use a tinted moisturiser but I like the coverage from this foundation. It takes a bit of taking off but that's not a problem.Until I discover the source of the streaming eyes I'm giving 4 stars - but still really like this product.

I'm reviewing the Max Factor Healthy Skin Harmony Foundation, 30 ml, Beige 55. Here are my thoughts:^^ The Max Factor Healthy Skin Harmony Miracle Foundation is a multi-tasking product, which is apparently better for your skin than wearing no make-up at all, since it's a hybrid make-up smart formula with intelligent ingredients, 24-hour hydration, SFP20 and shine control! But does it work?^^ I say yes! I've recently used a primer and loved that, but this actually takes away the need for that, too!^^ The effects are genuinely pretty good, and whatever it's doing it feels good to apply and is very moisturising, whilst at the same time has a foundation, dewy effect to cover up blemishes for an all over soft and smooth appeal - without that dreadful "mask" look.Overall: I like the fact that this has a form of oil absorbers for shine control, that alone certainly helps with keeping the completed look effect in place. The colour, Beige 55 is just my sort of colour, too. Happy to use this again!

Max Factor Healthy Skin Harmony Foundation, 30 ml, Natural 50This is a good consistence and nicely even colour which might be suitable for a lot people in this hemisphere with Caucasian skin. Everyone's different though so it nights practical to have tested the colour variations beforehand.I am pleased to see SPF20 categorisation to this product, which should be sufficient for the majority of UK sun, and at least it is better than nothing - although it should not be considered a total replacement for proper application of the correct level of sun cream for your individual skin.I have found the application of this foundation to be nice and even, and it helps to mask any slight blemishes without providing too much of an unnatural mask. For a price of 11.99 (at time of review) that seems about fair considering the amount of product you get and the decent quality and consistency.

I haven't used any Max Factor foundation before mainly because I find them too expensive for my budget, and partly because I don't use a foundation on a regular basis. It was, therefore, something of a novelty to try this.I like the pump dispenser which is really easy to use;I prefer this to squeezing a tube which often results in a messy blob. The consistency of this foundation is perfect, being very smooth and light, resulting in a natural looking finish, smoothing out fine lines and blemishes. It feels so light; I hate thick, heavy make up which can make me feel almost bogged down. Not all foundations have an SPF, but this one has an SPF20 which, although at the lighter end of protection,is at least something. On reflection this is a good product, and I probably would pay the price given how good it looks, which is worth it even if only occasionally.

Max Factor Healthy Skin Harmony Foundation is an excellent foundation which gives a good coverage. I prefer a light coverage, which provides me with the "natural" coverage I desire. I like how it does not give that "caked" look, it provides a really nice natural look which I would happily recommend. The actual foundation is a nice soft, smooth texture and I found it easy to apply both using clean fingers, clean sponge or a foundation brush. Each application went on well. The foundation has a light fragrance which does not linger after application. The only slight flaw I had was that it needed touching up throughout the day as it seemed to smudge easily especially around the nasal and moutharea.Max Factor Healthy Skin Harmony Foundation is an excellent foundation which provides great natural looking coverage at a good price.Happy to recommend.

This is an interesting concept ... a foundation with added vitamins and sun protection for healthy skin. This foundation comes in a choice of colours and I received 'Natural 50' for reviewing purposes.Max Factor produce some lovely beauty products and this foundation is no exception. It comes in a glass pump action bottle and the colour is a lovely creamy vanilla yogurt colour that is perfect for very light skins like mine. This foundation is easy to apply and gives good coverage without clogging up your pores, it is slightly scented but not overpoweringly so. Containing vitamins, SPF20 and 24 hour foundation, this foundation is apparently better for your skin than wearing no makeup at all ...I have no idea if this is true or not, but what I can say is that after application my skin felt smooth and moisturised for most of the day.Love it.

Max Factor's latest foundation that promises 'a flawless and radiant healthy skin look' and has SPF20 as a bonus. We tried out the Sand colour Healthy Skin Harmony foundation, it was a lot lighter than expected and actually became more pale when applied to the skin. You really only need a small amount, which is good for saving money, and the pump applicator on the bottle is fairly good at only squirting out the right amount. From there, you apply to the face and work outwards.Well, the colour made my wife's skin a lot lighter and not like sand at all, unless you could the white sand on some beaches! It wasn't too bad and spread evenly. It covered lines well and felt good on the skin,so it's really only the colour we were disappointed with and this will be down to taste.

Really nice quality foundation, surprisingly good infact, considering how inexpensive it is. The consistency in nice and creamy, not as liquid as for instance, the Clinique superbalanced, which is very fluid liquid, but not as thick as many other intensely covering foundations. The shade was perhaps a tad light for me, but looks fine with bronzer on parts of the face, I would simply buy a slightly darker shade nex time and this is quite difficult to get right first time buying online. Covered my broken veins on cheeks very effectively without looking over plastered and wore certainlty as long as the Clinique. Comparing it in quality, would say it is around the same as the Dior one I use, in feel, consistency and wearability, as a lot less of the cost.

I like this foundation. It has a good consistency and coverage. But like others have said, its colour is much darker than expected and gets alot darker after application! I don't think there is a colour in this range suitable for especially pale skin either.I'm usually a nude but found it too dark in this range so initially tried mixing a tiny bit of nude with light ivory for an inbetween shade.... It looked good going on but i quickly became conscious of the fact that I was getting darker and darker as my work day went on.....I felt like a glowing pumpkin by midday!I've used the light ivory on its own since which ends up a little darker than the average shade of nude which is actually quitenice

Max Factor is a real treat to receive, the other half has always liked using this brand as it is reasonably priced yet always gives good results. This was no exception, she liked the ease in which it came out using the pump action top, it didn’t explode like some alternatives and cause wastage. She loves the evenness of the coverage and the ease in which it applies. This colour of sand was perfect for her skin and she was more than happy to road test it. I didn’t notice a difference between this new product and her existing product so that’s a very good sign. The only slight niggle is the lid, it’s not sturdy, it feels flimsy and like it could break if left in a bag.

One of my favourite foundations is Max Factor Lasting Performance in soft beige - so I was delighted to receive another of their products. This foundation comes in a chunky glass container with a pump action that can be turned to off when not in use. It spreads easily over the skin and gives excellent coverage which lasts well. It has a definite yellow tinge but was fine on my skin. I like the fact that it offers sun protection (Factor 20). However after testing I think my Lasting Performance is actually the better foundation for me.Nonetheless this is an excellent product at a good price. The 30ml container should last for months.
