This Dark Magic Mascara comes in a chunky gold and purple tube. The purple parts of the lid are slightly textured rubber, making grip easy.The applicator on this product is slim, with a wave like effect. This is designed to fan out lashes, to give a good separated look. I would say this is something that is true of the product and my lashes do have a nice definition. The slimness means I haven't ended up getting any on my eyelid either and having to remove this after.What has surprised me is that, given the name, I thought this would be a really black mascara, but it doesn't seem to give a more intense colour than my other mascaras, most of which are 'brown black'.

There are so many mascaras on the market these days that it's very hard to differentiate between them. I suspect cosmetic companies just come out with new ones every six months to keep people interested but without really changing the product very much. Anyway - I'm a fan of Max Factor's mascaras anyway - my 'go-to' is the good ol' 2000 Calories mascara. This brand's mascaras very rarely let me down (although there have been a couple...).I'm happy to say that Dark Magic is good! Despite the hard plastic brush, which is usually not my favourite type of wand, it really separates your lashes. This is possibly the most clumps-free mascara I have used in a long time. And the colour is a very vivid black.

This masara comes - as do most volumising mascaras in seems - in a very chunky tube. I'm not terribly keen on this deceptive - and make up bag filling - trend. I'm also not keen on mascara wands that are just plastic stubs and nobbles rather than true brushes, but this one feels less weird than most to use.I initially wasn't terribly impressed when I used this mascara over a primer - it didn't coat evenly, or give much depth of colour, but it did last well without flaking or irritating my hayfever sensitised eyes. I then tried it on bare lashes a couple of days later, and it was much more satisfactory - the colour was good, it went on evenly, and my lashes did appear to have more volume. Again,

This mascara bottle is quite chunky and feels nice to hold. It won’t slip out of your hand. I was surprised by the length of the wand. It is quite long, and literally nearly covered all my lashes in one swoop. The finish is quite subtle; it’s not one of those mascaras that give you the spider-leg look or a thick, clumpy finish. To get a good finish, I had to apply twice. The lashes were separated quite nicely, and it gave my eyes a bit of a wide-eyed look. It dries quickly, but also come off easily with eye-makeup remover. I’d say it’s more of a daytime mascara.

This mascara goes on well and evenly, with no clumping or bunching together of the lashes due to the helix shape of the wand. It is quite thin so needs more than one coat and each needs to dry before applying the next coat to prevent lumps of mascara forming. It lasts all day/night and comes off with make up remover pads quite easily without leaving black smudges beneath the eyes. It is very black and doesn’t fade which is good. A good product which is good value for money.

I do like this, it even looks nice in its gold and purple and the plastic wand is easy to use and apply. I cant say I have noticed any remarkable difference in application from other mascara and the black is no more intense or remarkable than any other similar priced mascara but I have not found any smudging and it does give an even application. All in all I found this nice to use and gives a nice look, for the price I would buy it again.

Absolutely brilliant mascara. Nothing clumpy or sticky about this gem of a mascara. I always use the Diorshow mascara which is twice the price of this one. And I have to say this is the best I have used to date. But move over Dior as this Max Factor Dark Magic is a show stopper. So easy to apply and it lasts all day long. You really can’t fault this one. All in all I would say you can’t go wrong with this beautiful mascara.

This mascara is a lovely vivid black with lots of pigment adding to the drama of this volumising mascara. Its brush separates and fans lashes coating them in mascara. Volume is instantly added which lasts all days and doesn't smudge or run, it was removed easily at the end of the day with eye make up remover. A decent mascara at a good price.

Very pleased with this for several reasons:It is easy to apply. It goes on quite fine and is not thick and clumpy.And best of all I do not find it irritates my eyes. This is a plus. Most mascaras I can only wear for a few hours before I feel it must come off. This I can wear all day,

I think this is actually a lovely natural looking mascara, no clumping at all, and covers extremely well. I like the brush, it is straight, if a little long, and therefore makes application easy. Stays on well all day with no smudging. Easy to remove. My new favourite.

Very easy to apply, this gives a naturally enhanced look, rather than something more dramatic. The brush applies evenly on both upper and lower lashes and is wide enough to give 1-stroke coverage. Good for busy mornings and for a natural daytime/work look.

I got this for my girlfriend as she was running low on what she would usually use and was happy to notice that this made her eyelashes seem less clumpy and more striking as a result. She has enjoyed using it and is also happy with how it looks.

This comes with a plastic skinny finned type that is curved so that not too much mascara comes out on it. Rhe results are good as no clogged lashes yet they are evenly loaded. Not much smudging even after overnight. Good results and easy use.

Nice thin wand and so far not getting gloopy or clogged. Goes on easily but the first layer is very thin so I need 2 or 3 coats. Good news is that after a few coats my lashes look longer and really defined rather than thick and gloopy.

Fantastic mascara.Applied easily and made lashes look great. I took my time and applied a little at a time.Looks stylish and for reasons I dont understand I like the soft feel cap.Went the distance and was easy to remove.
