L'Oreal Paris Infallible Lip Liner is a great lip liner, really without a doubt the best I’ve used, but the packing is terrible. The lip liner is exactly as promised, it’s a wonderfully thick smooth moisturizing lip liner, it goes on so incredibly smooth and you have an instant strong pop of colour that I’ve not had with other brands in the past. Once on it dries fairly quickly to a true matte but without feeling dry or brittle, and one of the best things about this lip liner is that it stays exactly where it's put so your lips are perfect after an easy application.I normally wear bright red lip liner, it’s embarrassing as it comes off on coffee cups which looks a little unpleasant and I’m sure coffee shop staff hate me for it,but I found this lip liner stayed on no problem at all. As well as saving coffee cups it also meant I didn’t have to constantly reapply, after a coffee some colour was lost from the center of the lips but for the most part the lip liner didn’t shift - no bleeding or smudging. The problem is the packing - as others have said it looks like you should be able to wind this up from the bottom, I almost broke a tooth trying to turn the bottom thinking that this is how it worked at first. You have to sharpen it like you would a normal wooden pencil liner, although it is easy to sharpen it does mean that you're left with sharp plastic edges to irritate the lips. Plastic is also of course not environmentally friendly. One other issue I have with this is that being so rich it’s going to wear down quickly, the tip of the pencil was worn down after just one application and sharpening took around a centimeter from the pencil, so you’re going to have to sharpen it every time you apply and that means this pencil isn’t going to last very long at all and isn't all that practical when you're on the go and need to reapply.All-in-all I love this liner, but the overall product isn’t great. I’d buy for a special occasion.Colours I’ve tried:205 Apocalypse Red - dark and vampy, would be great on a night out.105 Red Fiction - a true cherry red, perfect for pin-up girls.711 Invisible Red - a slightly pinky red, good for daily use.201 Hollywood Beige - definitely more a peachy pink, not beige.101 Gone with the Nude - a pinky colour rather than a true beige.

My wife has reviewed this L'Oreal lip liner in Invincible Red (not Invisible Red as advertised on the Amazon page!) and has now updated the review to include other shades. This is a good lipliner which goes on smoothly and creates a clear outline to fill in with your own lipstick - this needs to be very similar in shade of course. In practice, you can use the pencil to colour full lips, just rub a little lip balm over the lips afterwards to blend the colour in well. The colour of Invincible Red is a classic royal red and lasts well without bleeding or smudging, nice matt finish. The only downsides are that it does not twist up to renew the tip,but has to be sharpened with a regular pencil sharpener; this works fine but it is not obvious at first as the plastic case looks as if the bottom should twist up. If using just as a liner and you need to buy a range of colours to match with your own lipsticks compared to the "nude" style lipliners.Other shades I have tried are Red Fiction (brighter than Invincible Red), Tangerine Vertigo (bright coral orange), Fuchsia Wars (shocking pink) , Darling Pink ( bright candy pink), Wuthering Purple (autumnal plum colour), Gone with the Nude (gives a beige sheen) and Highlight On Point (neutral, nice to rub over another colour). The caps are supposed to reflect the colour of the liner but they are not always accurate.

There is a whole lot i love about this lip liner. I love the colour, which is a really dark matte purple. The lip liner itself is nice and soft and goes on without dragging. It does last well, even through copious amounts of tea and a meal. It lasts better than most kohl eyepencils i have (that have a similar texture), so much so i may have to see if they do a similar eyeliner! What i dont like is the pencils structure. I have two types of liner, pencils, made of wood that you sharpen by means of a pencil sharpener or plastic liner pencils that twist up from the base and usually have a sharpener in the end to make a sharp point. This is an unnerving and ill explained mixture of the two.I have been all over the internet trying to find out how you sharpen a plastic barrelled pencil that you cant seem to twist up. I must be behind on the make up curve as i have never seen a plastic barelled pencil you shove in a pencil sharpener. What exactly is the point? Whats wrong with wooden pencils? Would it kill them to mention how you sharpen the pencil somewhere? on their website? on the pencil? on the amazon page?Judging by the internet search results im not the only one thrown by the question "how exactly do i sharpen this?"Nice matte lip pencil that doesnt drag and lasts well, really wierd packaging

The lip liner comes in a narrow, plastic tube with a clip-on cap and is about the size of a pencil. The cap colour denotes the liner shade. The one I have is a vibrant, pinky-red, more a blue-red than an orange-red, which is just what I like. The lip liner is quite creamy, goes on without scrubbing and doesn’t bleed in wear. I am very pleased with the product. The packaging is another matter. It is dreadful. Getting the stick of lip liner to rise out of the pen is difficult. It does not twist up, which is what one would expect. It doesn’t slide up either, like a lipstick. It sits there in its tube, smirking at you. The only way I could get more lip liner out of the pen was to pull off the end of the tube,(which is removable) and push out more colour with the flat end of a 3.5mm crochet hook. Once you push out the liner you cannot make it go back in the holder so it must be pushed out with care. Push out too much and of course it breaks; push out too gently and you can’t get enough for a good lip-line. There must be a better way to get the cosmetic to exit the tube but I could not work it out. I cannot imagine why a reputable firm like L’Oreal would market the product in such an annoying and useless dispenser and can only think it is a manufacturing fault.

There are a few odd factors relating to these lip liners. Firstly, there seem to be discrepancies between the colour names as identified by Amazon and those that appear on the liners themselves. I ordered BlueBlood, Hilite on Fleek, and Invisible Red... And received Highlight on Point, Bye Felicia, and Infallible Red. The colours themselves seem to match the website images, so I conclude that either there have been some data entry errors at Amazon or the names have been changed.Secondly, the design of these suggests that they should be twist advancing. The pencil-style tube is made of plastic, with an obvious join section at the end that looks as though it should twist to advance the lip liner. It doesn't. Instead, this needs to be sharpened with a traditional sharpener. The liners themselves are very nice. Soft, and apply easily so that they can be used either as a neat, narrow liner, giving a wider outline, or as a base coat. The Highlight colour is very pale - but gives effective definition. Bye Felicia is quite a strong navy. Infallible red is lovely, and definitely not invisible. It's a good, strong red. All versions I've tried blend easily and last well.

The 207 Wuthering purple lip liner is a good match for the same named L’Oreal lip paint. The lip colour is purple and liner slightly more pink. The latter comes as a tube with a soft wand for application so getting a fine edge requires careful application the lip liner is a great boost. The liner is quite soft and highly pigmented. To get more colour you need to sharpen it even though its plastic and not wood, no twist up for more product. The colour looks good on a young adult, on my more mature skin its probably best kept for 31st Oct fright night! The ingredients are listed under a label on the lid, you need bionic vision to read the tiny faint writing! Ingredients include methyltrimethicone, polyethelyne, trimethylsiloxysilicate, paraffin, dimethicone, calcium sodium borosilicate, aluminium hydroxide, proprylene carbonate, tin oxide, BHT, colours may include red, blue and yellow lakes, iron oxide and carmine

L'Oreal Paris Infallible Lip Liner, 001 Highlight On FleekThis is a lovely slim lip liner in the lightest colour in the range. it looks fantastic with my lips highlighted round the edge in this light colour and then filled in with pink lip gloss. The line is drawn easily and also blends easily so the edge isn't hard. It leaves a subtle glimmer at the endges of my lips.It could also be used as the base for a light lip colour I suppose, but I never find that works for me (I find it too drying). Because the lip liner is nice and soft, it means it isn't particularly long-lasting; there's always a balance with lip liners between being soft to apply versus being too hard, and coming off too easily. The lip liner looks like it should wind up as it wears down, but I haven't worked out how to do that yet so I'm not sure how long it'll last. For sale at the time of writing this review at £4.99.

These are very nice, mid-priced lip liners. They are soft and smooth in use and easy to apply evenly. Used lightly, you can get a fine line; press a bit harder and a nice solid line appears; if you really want to the colour is solid enough to use it to cover the whole lip. It doesn’t dry my lips, doesn’t bleed outwards, blends easily with my lipstick, and is pretty long lasting (easily as good as my normal brand). If there is any left at the end of the day, it is easily removed using normal make-up remover.I agree with other reviewers that some instructions about sharpening would have been a good idea, but in fact it is very easy to do with a normal pencil sharpener.Colours I have tried are:- Tangerine Vertigo (bright coral orange)- Red Fiction (very bright red)- Bye,Felicia (a very dark grey/blue, advertised as Blue Blood on Amazon, but labelled Bye, Felicia on the pencil)

LIP LINERS==========Lip liners typically get a bad reputation. I think it's probably that they can make you think of awful lined lips with nude lipstick or that super goth look. But not using a lip liner in your beauty routine is a real missed opportunity. It can make your lips look fuller and more defined.LONG LASTING=============I find this range of lip liners quite long lasting than some others. They are highly pigmented and easily sharpened.BLEND======It's also easily blended in with lipsticks or liquid lipsticks and look fantastic.SHARP======I prefer a traditional pencil, rather than the retractable ones which never seem sharp or precise enough for me.TIP===It's possible just to use this rather than a lipstick - simply use on the lips and apply a lip balm.(I did this recently when I changed bags!)OVERALL========A great soft texture and good definition

I have used many lip liners and L’Oreal have certainly produced the best. Firstly, these pencils are soft on the lips and neatly contour the lip outline, preventing bleeding. Due to the soft nature of the tip, the lip pencil can also be used to colour in the lip. This is easily achieved by slanting the pencil at an angle, as you would a lipstick. Lastly, the pencil colour blends beautifully with a choice of lipsticks.I tried two colours: 201 Hollywood Beige and 105 Red Fiction. I loved the Hollywood Beige: it was subtle and coral in tone (a mixture of pink and orange when applied). By contrast, the red was a little too bright for me but it was easily toned down with a less bright lipstick. To sharpen the pencil,I used an electric pencil sharpener and this seemed to do the trick. Great additions to a make up bag!

No complaints about this lip liner. I have it in a couple of colours, and the colours are true to the scribbled swatch pictures here on Amazon. The pencil itself is very soft and smooth to apply. It's so soft it's almost more like a kohl eyeliner, but surprisingly it creates a bold line and stays put all day.I generally apply the liner a bit thicker than the line that's needed to make sure that it blends underneath my lipstick and doesn't actually appear as a line around the edge of my lips (so 90s!)It's not drying on my lips and doesn't bleed outwards, keeping a clean line all day. When you want to remove it it comes off easily with normal makeup remover. The pencil is easy to sharpen with anormal pencil sharpener and when you do that it maintains the clean sharp line needed for lining your lips tidily.

This is a really good lipliner because it is SOFT!! So many of the lipliners I have tried recently have been hard and scratchy and just don't seem to deposit any colour at all. You can even fill the lips right in with this for a real 40s Hollywood starlet look. You do need a slightly more careful application method though, because it is so soft, to ensure you don't end up with a great big thick line, but overall I definitely prefer it to the harder pencils. The rich red colour I got will only work with deep or dark lipsticks or glosses as it is so noticeable, but one of the nuder shades would work with any lip colour. Finally, the styling of the pencil is lovely. Slim and dark and easy to grip, with a lid that snaps on properly and is thus less likely to get lost. I really like this!

I really enjoyed using this lipliner, it was so smooth on application and glided on to my lips. The pencil itself has a slim and modern design although the lid can be quite difficult to put on - you have to press firmly to ensure it's closed. The colour of this lipliner is warm and subtle and the nude colour accentuates your lips without being overbearing. I even used it as a lipstick, with some lip balm underneath and the lipliner on top. I was a bit fooled by the design of the top of the pencil as it looks like one you twist but in fact you have to sharpen it. The only drawback (if it can be considered one) is that the softness means it has to be sharpened a bit more often, but to be honest,it is not as harsh on the lip area as other ones I’ve used, so definitely worth it.

This L'Oreal Paris Infallible Lip Liner is a good value product from this top brand and is available in around seventeen shades currently on the same Amazon product page – L'Oreal says there are a total of “24 match-made-in-heaven shades” available in all, so you should find one to suit your own look. My wife doesn't normally use this type of product but she has got on surprisingly well with this new L'Oreal pencil and finds it works better than she expected. There is a removable cap at the base to access the twist mechanism – this is ineffective and more traditional sharpening methods may need to be used when it becomes necessary! One star off for this. Decent-enough value for around a fiver currently from Amazon, with just the one slightly annoying feature.

This is an excellent lip liner. It applies very smoothly without drag, and you can get a very precise line and create any shape you want. You can fill in the lips with it as well as outlining them, giving you a rich and vibrant color that doesn't even require lipstick over it if you don't want. It is long lasting, and although there is some transfer onto cups when drinking, it doesn't bleed or feather. It's also surprisingly easy to remove with a cleansing wipe.My only problem is the design of the packaging. It's a plastic pencil-like tube which looks like it should turn up from the bottom, but actually you have to sharpen it which is tricky and leaves you with sharp plastic edges. Very weird!Otherwise, highly recommended.
