So this is the first Lightailing kit I've used for lighting my LEGO, and for the sake of full disclosure they did supply the set to enable this review to take place.First of all the lighting kit was very well packaged and put together. The LEDs are built into LEGO parts and the thin wire connecting them was packaged and protected well. The instructions are clear and they even supply a battery pack if you don't want to run your lights off mains powered USB or a power bank.The biggest problem with lighting kits from any manufacturer are that in order to hide the cables between studs, it has to be thin delicate wire. I must confess that when installing this kit I must have damaged one of the 4 candle lights that hang from the ceiling,they are quite delicate so to install it you need a gentle touch!The specialist lights for the boat lamp, candles and fireplace look stunning when lit, and the LED strips hidden in the ceiling give the set a lovely ambient light. In all honesty, I would have loved for the candles and fireplace to flicker, but for such a reasonably priced kit I really can't complain about static lights. Whilst other kits may do this, they cost far more and this Lightailing kit represents excellent value for money.With all LEGO lighting kits you will never completely hide all of the connecting wires, but with this kit I was able to conceal most of the cabling within the walls / under the floor / between bricks with only slight areas where the cables can be seen (please see photos).As the most visible cables are around the candles in the ceiling, it would have been nice if the cable was black instead of white, but this is a very small nitpick.The instructions are very clear not only showing how and where to install the lights, but also showing how to hide the cables within the build itself.Overall this is a brilliant lighting kit which is very good value for money. My advice is to be very gentle with the wires and you will enjoy how these lights bring your LEGO sets to life!

The thickness of the wires are about right to pass through the blocks allbeit a bit tricky.The warm glow of these lights really enhance the effect you're trying to create.Glad we bought these lights ,really brings the castle, tower etc to life.

I've given this 5 stars but as it's a Christmas present I am hoping that I will still feel this is right at Christmas
