Its a lego standard game and its Star Wars. most kids and fans will be happy with that. Its actually quite good although player movement and play can be a little fiddly. My daughter (6) found it quite boring and alittle confusing but my son (5) loved it although, like chess, it will take time to understand tactical positioning and player moves without refering to the manual.this is a 2 player vs game, unlike the heroica and harry potter games. The objective is to get to your enemies 'base' square or defeat all the other units in the enemies team. Taking in turns, your team can move and/or attack with a special dice deciding the outcome of battle. The board layout is very simplistic with no detail or environmental objects to build. The bulk of the building is player peices and it seems this kit may be a little overpriced for what you get in the box. A bulk of the price is probably for the star wars brand and recognisible vehicles/characters. This set can be found cheaper elsewhere but, like i found, it will be going out of stock like crazy as Star Wars related merchandise can be very sought after. I picked up the last one in stock in my region, one week after release, simply because i reserved it.All in all another quality title, a little overpriced and not as fun as lego hogwarts (which is the best my kids and i have tried outside of the 4 Heroica sets). Maybe this would be suited better for kids of 8 years and up because of the tactical complexity. It'll be interesting to see what lego release next in this range.

My son loves this Lego game.It is excellent in it's suggested out-of-the-box configuration; but is versatile and can be constructed in lots of different ways. This means the kids are not likely to become bored of this game, unlike classic board games. Different mini-pieces / mini-vehicles are included. Each piece differs in how it is moved, and its striking distance (1, 2 or 3 spaces) and striking direction (straight ahead or diagonally). If your piece is within striking distance of the "enemy"s piece, you roll the dice for a "miss" , "hit" or "force hit".On a "force hit", if your attacking piece has the power of the force with it (Luke or Darth Vader on board)you wipe out your opponents piece in one strike. If you roll a hit you knock out one figure from the piece. That way, you need some luck to wipe our your opponent's pieces quickly. Great game. Enjoyable for the adults too.May the force be with you!!

We love this game - by 'we' I mean my husband and myself! It took us a while to build the players from the LEGO pieces in the first place, which was fun in itself, then once you start playing the game you have different combinations of rules to choose from and loads of different strategies you can use.The changable board and rules allow you to make each game very different. There are different characters which have different amounts of 'fire power' (how many places they can shoot ahead, behind or to the side) and the gaps in the board make certain logical movements impossible, making you think of alternatives. The box states that a game will last 20 minutes, but we find each game to be at least 30 minutes long. This is one of the games which is now being played again and again by ourselves.

Bought this for my son (a bright 8-year-old), a big Star Wars and Lego fan - it was the one thing on his Christmas list he really wanted. And he was not disappointed. He loved building the game, and then enacting the battles using this game. It was substantial enough, at his level, and he was able to grasp the rules very quickly and enjoy the game play itself. Also, it was also long enough to leave him feeling satisfied and certainly not disappointed at the end (especially when he won!) This game is not a quick bang-bang and it's all over type game - it works very well for what it intends to achieve. This is great for the Lego and Star Wars enthusiast, and I would certainly recommend it.

This set is fun. You get a ton of figures (micro, not mini!) and quite a few vehicles: 2 AT-ATs, 2 snowspeeders, 1 taun-taun, 1 AT-ST, and a rebel and an imperial cannon. All these vehicles have the little microfigs in them, and then you get a whole bunch of guys on foot as well, including Darth Vader, Luke, Boba Fett, Chewie and Han.I'm not sure you want to buy this set for the actual game, but any kid will have a blast reenacting the Battle of Hoth with the included stuff. No available for purchase in the USA (due to licencing issues, I presume), so this will retain it's value nicely too!

Finally a Lego 'board' game that we (my son and I) keep playing, it's basically as simple as most other titles (Harry Potter, Minotaurus etc) but because of the Star Wars theme (we're both fans) it is much more appealing to us than other Lego games. We put on a Star Wars soundtrack on the stereo whilst playing and have some toys that have Star Wars sound effects that we play when attacking and such. So it invites to 'geek-out' a bit. I think it's a safe bet that when you're not at all into Star Wars, you'll not really enjoy this game a lot. Also, the little figures (there's a lot) are awesome.

My 8 year old eagerly awaited this new lego game, when it arrived he was so excited it was out of its box and built within seconds. The game is good, more appreciated by star wars lego fans than not, but this is not just a game ... the minature versions of the lego pieces have given just as much fun and my 8 year absolutely loves them. He even makes up his own battles, using the game board as the battle ground! Keeps him quiet for ages, therefore a happy mum! :)

The At-at and the characters are really well made. The game itself is a strategy game that actually works, it takes the right length of time and has rules that make sense. We bought lego games in the past, mainly for the pieces, but as a game they didn't work out so well; this one is cool, both my son (aged 10) and the rest of the family enjoy playing it.

Great game for budding and grown up Jedi's. my son is 5 and this was the perfect gift. He enjoys playing with the figures and ships on there own as well as the game it self. You can create your own board if you want and change the rules to suit the age of those playing.

This game is more like a chess game. It needs more strategic thinking but is fun to play. too hard for my 7 year old, but was beaten by my 18 year old who thought it was much fun to play. The starwars theme is fun. Easy to assemble and not hard to learn.

My son likes board games, he has Heroica which is rather good. He is also a Star Wars fan and wanted this. This isn't bad, I love the pcs, how they look like the creatures in the movie, the game for me at least wasn't over entertaining, but fairly good.

My son loved the pieces but was slightly put out that the figures don't have proper arms (I imagined they would just be normal Lego figures). There are various game rules to sort different ages/abilities.

My step son aged 9 really liked this as its 2 of his favourite things, lego & stars wars.He found the game a little confusing at first but soon got the hang of it. He loves it!!Highly recommend this.

This product arrived in plenty of time for my grandson's birthday. He was pleased when he opened the present but I'm not sure how good the product is as he hasn't given me any feed back yet.

I got this Star wars as a gift to my friend's kid and he loved it. I was not sure how this game/toy will end up but it turned to be a good one and interesting one for the dad's as well.
