The Death Star Final Duel set is one of the best Lego Star Wars playsets in some time. Far too many of the Lego sets in this theme are just vehicles and minifigures, which are definitely exciting and obviously popular as Lego keep doing them! But this is a true playset in every sense of the word and as such it will appeal to children as they will have a great deal to do. Also, due to the iconic nature of the scene this recreates, this is very much a set that adult collectors will love. Lego really should do more terrain and structure sets for Star Wars because they've shown here they can recreate them so well! The set comes with the minifigures shown - Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, two Royal Guards and the Emperor. Luke comes with an alternate facial expression and his green lightsaber. The Emperor again has an alternate expression, allowing for either an 'aggressive' or relaxed look - the former being perfect for the lightning scene! He also comes with two lightning bolts to attach to his hands to recreate the scene where he shocks Luke. The Royal Guards are a nice addition as they were previously quite hard to find (until this set and the Death Star Troopers battle pack). They are quite plain as a design so there isn't much to say about them, but Lego did them as well as they could have. The real interesting addition to this set is Darth Vader. Lego have stuck with the same single-piece helmet ever since Darth was first released, but here they made a new two-part piece. The lower visor attaches before the head, and the main face section and top helmet attach ontop of the head. A minor change, but it means you can recreate the scene where Luke is with the helmetless Vader at the end - who still has the lower visor on. A nice but of fan service from Lego that they didn't need to do - as no-one would have complained - but the addition and new moulds are very welcome. As for the set itself, you get the three main sections which connect via extending walkway to the doorway, which opens from two sides. The left-section provides a small walkway for your figures to duel over, with a nice playfeature where you can knock the supporting beam down and make the figure/s fall down to the floor. On the right-side there is the shaft that the Emperor is thrown down at the end of the scene. In the centre is the Emperor's throne with some of the computer systems infront and below. The staircase leads nicely up to the throne, and has a playfeature where you can knock a figure off the steps. The throne spins, and there is a hidden lightsaber behind it that you can pop up into the air by pressing a button on the bottom floor of the set. All three sections have the classic windows at the back which can all open, allowing you to send figures out into space - or observe space battles! The left and right sections can be displayed attached to the throne section, creating a T shape for the playset, or they can be rotated into the middle and connected to the walkway by pins, which makes for a far more enclosed box shaped 'arena' to duel in. You can change this to suit your desires for play or display! All-in-all the build is pretty easy and fluid thanks to Lego's numbered-bags system allowing you to focus on smaller builds at a time and then connect them all together. The result is a satisfying and faithful rendition of the throne room from the movie and will please adult fans, as well as giving kids a great terrain place to 'fight' in.So as I said earlier, the number of playfeatures, the fantastic and full selection of minifigures and the fantastic recreation of the throne room all lend themselves to one of the best Lego playsets and Star Wars sets that has been released for a long time. The adult fans will love this as soon as they see it, and the kids will love it too due to the massive amount of play potential involved here. It really is that good!A definite buy for young and old alike.

I already spent on it an hour and a half and I only have half of it built. Awesome! It looks great and I'm looking forward to creating movie scenes and my own ideas! Finally a building in Star Wars Lego universe! There should be more of that, not only ships (even though they are also great!). I got it as a gift for my birthday and it couldn't have been better :)

Great set for playability.ProsGreat selection of mini figures and features.Really good attention to detail in the set.Standard delivery of product came a bit earlier than expected which is always good.ConsOnly downside is that the set is a little small for using the mini figures.Overall a great set none the less. Would highly recommend!

My 9 year old grandson LOVED IT, LOVED IT, LOVED IT! He enjoyed putting it together and sent me a video showing me what each section could do and, in case I didn't get it the first time, went through all the actions/explanations again! As for value for money - it's Lego, it's Star Wars . . .

Wonderful play set for any Star Wars fan, my son (5) had asked for it for Christmas and i painstakingly put it together on Christmas day (took about 6 hours lol, but well worth it in the end to see his beaming face whilst acting out one of the most iconic scenes in Star Wars history !).

My 4 year old grandson was thrilled with this. The instructions were extremely clear and the clever little lad managed to build this complex construction completely unaided! A super price from Amazon, the cheapest I have researched.

This made one boy very happy on Christmas day, took a few hours to make on boxing day but that was half the fun. He has enjoyed playing with it and the many pieces have been incorporated well into other models of his imagination.

Excellent product and with a Darth Vader. It has slightly more mini figures in this pack than many others of the same price range which is always a plus. Not more to say -. its lego and excellent.

Great Lego Star Wars toy. Lots of details, important characters, well developed. The price/benefit relation is better, compared with other items from the Lego Star Wars collection.
