This is the first set I bought for the 2020 sets. I recently started collecting the speed champion theme last year. I was a bit skeptical buying the new set because I wasn't really impressed with last year's one. Last year's set were just too elongated and I didn't like the scale of it. However, with this new set, its more to scale and I love the fact that you can fit two minifigure inside! I think the size justifies the $5 increase in price. I also liked that the hood was printed instead of sticker. I hope that it's a gateway for future productions to be printed instead of stickers. I wasn't going to collect the 2020 series but after buying and building this set,I am really excited to buy the rest and for LEGO to come up with more! Just like what other people said, there was an error in the sticker placement in the instructions. It was really annoying because it took me a while to align the sticker and match it for me to just take it off and the corned folded slightly. I kinda ruined the sticker. But overall, I really like this set. I love the GT-R as a car, so of course it was the first one I bought

Although I don't drive I have a thing about cars, no idea why but I do. My previous exerience with Lego cars was they were blocky and not particularly realistic looking but that goes back to the early 1980s (how I wish I still had those kits!) and things have certainly moved on a long way. When the other half saw this one he immediately wanted it cos the GT-R was one of his favoured vehicles in a computer game (he did say which one but I can't remember now). I have to admit when I saw the box images I was keen to build it as it did look really good. Have to admit, I was NOT disappointed in the finished product.Nice and roomy for your mini figures and easy to get them in and out too which did surprise me.As expected the build instructions are nice and clear and the bricks fit together super easily. Only real downside for me was the number of stickers (some of them are really small and fiddly) but that's because I genuinely suck at placing them.Would be a good kit for younger builders as well as car enthusiasts.Number Of Pieces: 298Approximate Price Per Piece: £0.06Build Time: 1.25 Hours

I love the set and the bigger size and better detail of the latest Speed Champion series but there is appears to be an upside down sticker in the instructions starting on Steo 23 on page 18. You see in both images that the sticker is oriented with the thin white band at the bottom and the thicker black band at the top. The red stripe is on the bottom of the black stripes on this block but on the white blocks behind it, the red stripe is on top. You will also notice that white stripe running through the middle would not line up. It becomes more evident on Step 46 on page 37 when you put the door panel on. It very clearly does not align. Even the image on the box has the red strip on top throughout the driver's side. Finally, you can look at Step 25 on page 20 and see the thin white stripe at the top and the red stripes on top of the black with perfect alignment. Basically anywhere you show the driver's side of the car in the instructions from page 18 on, the sticker is upside down.Love the set though!

I have always loved the lego speed champion sets forever and when saw these new bigger sets I had to get. This set is probably my favorite of all the new individual car sets. I've bought all three of the bigger individual cars and this one is definitely the best. The build for it was really fun and entertain and I love the way it looks! There was a lot of stickers I thought but they really set off the realistic look of the car! Also, I think the minifigure looks and fits great in the car, I would suggest this car to anyone. Overall great build and I cant wait for more of these sets to come out!PS: I am a big mustang fan I have the speed champion mustang, and the creator expert mustang.I would love if you guys would make another lego speed champion mustang in this size!

WARNING: Just want to warn LEGO fans and people that maybe on some sets, step 23 will have the sticker placement upside down. This is an error in the instruction manual. The sticker remains incorrectly placed throughout the instruction. The proper orientation is as it shows in the box image .If you placed your sticker incorrectly, you can apply heat to it with a hair dryer and carefully peel it back off to then stick back at the proper orientation; Or contact LEGO support for an extra sticker sheet.Still giving this set a 5 star rating, as this is one of the best speed champion sets, and the first Japanese license for a car :)

I am a LEGO parent and fan since I was a kid but this is the first set I bought for myself since I was young. I love the GT-R in real life so I was really interested in building this set. It took a little longer to build than I expected but that was partially because I was particular about getting the decals on perfectly. While my kids (early elementary ages) probably don’t appreciate the sticker placement they sure do love to play with the finished car...I do too! I read some of the reviews about this being out of scale with the rest of the mini figs, it’s probably true but this car fits right in with our very eclectic LEGO city!

I think the Nissan GTR Nismo looks the closest to the car it was based off of more than any other Speed Champions car I have. It is my second 9 stud wide Speed Champions car. I ordered some pieces to build a garage for this Nissan, my Ferrari F8 Tributo, and my Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo Evo so I'm exited for that. The handbrake and the shift lever in the cockpit is pretty cool I thought. Its probably like that because it is a drift car. The spoiler, also very cool. And I love the colors. In my opinion, this car is flawless. So in conclusion the Nissan GTR Nismo is a must-have item in your Speed Champions collection.

I've always been a fan of the GT-R. The bigger size of the new Speed Champions set helps this model look great.Slight error in the building instructions step 39 on page 30 does not show where to put the pieces but it is easy to work out as they are shown in situ in the next step. I did have to rebuild the 'engine bay' several times before I could get the bonnet cover to fit. There are a lot of stickers and it is worth taking your time with them to get them right. A steady hand and a tweezers I find are a big help. Young builders may need a hand to get them right.

After a very long this was my first build. The model is stunning it looks exactly how it is in the pictures. The details are so accurate and it surprised me. The peices hold together and its a very strong build. Great set of instructions and I must say the back of the car looks so good. The only disappointment for me was the front glass. It easily comes off when you turn the model upside down. Apart of this the model is great for beginners. It is an ideal model if you are like me who is starting to get back into lego and looking to build models on bigger scale.

Though not quite as impressive as the Ferrari F8 Tributo (one of the other two new 8-wide Speed Champions sets), this Nissan is a great build. The all-important rear with those iconic circular brake lights is done brilliantly well using the rounded 2x1 plates in an imaginative way, and though it's reliant on stickers I was pleased to see the bonnet at least is printed. The finished result looks ok. I feel like the wheels at this scale are a little too small, and this has an impact on the overall look, but it's still a worthwhile addition to the collection.

Having been building and collecting the Speed Champions range for a few years now I picked this up as soon as I saw it! The build is completely different to the previous products in the range due to the larger scale and base plate/chassis.Overall the extra size does allow for more detail and the rear of the GTR is particularly impressive. My only issue is that due to the scale increase is looks a little odd next to the rest of the collection. I guess I’ll just have to buy more of the 2020 range and start another shelf!

I'm a huge fan of the upgrade to 8 studs wide, as the amount of extra details compared to previous years is outstanding. This is no exception. The front is instantly recognisable, and the build is fun. The back is the same, and I like that a stud was left below the lights to angle them up. The colours throughout are great, and I don't mind the stickers as they provide lots of additional detail. Overall the build was fun, and it's a great little display piece which is very recognisable and accurate.

Got this for my 10 yr old as we thought the design is a bit more 'grown up'.Its 7+ but he didn't find it too easy at all.he really enjoyed building the car + has been able to play with it after. There are some fiddly peices but he persevered and completed it with no help from mum.The windscreen can be removed so you can fit the man inside. Its quite sturdy, which allows continuous use.He built it over a couple of days,in total probably took him around 5 hrs.Nice distraction from modern technology

6.4.2020

This set was quite easy to build, and took around an hour and a half to put together. It is quite sticker heavy though, even for a Speed Champions set. Once complete, it looks fantastic - Lego nailed the design of this car! Unlike lots of the older sets, it doesn't have any extra mini-builds (wind turbine, traffic lights, etc.), but it has enough room for 2 minifigures.Overall, this is a fun set to build, and will look great on any display shelf.

7.4.2020

There are just too many stickers I had to get my older sister to help me with 26 stickers. I think that’s way too much, Lego could have made more of them prints or combine some stickers and bricks together so it’s easier. The minifigure is good. I don't like the hair it makes him look old, a hair that was younger would have been good. Over all this is a good set. Eight studs wide you can have two minifigures in the car this is a very good thing.
