First thing that needs mentioning is the number of stickers in this kit. For such a small model there are a LOT of stickers. Now, my sticker-fu is vastly improved from when I started building back in July 2020 but this was still a challenge. It doesn't help that a lot of the stickers are meant to align over 2 bricks and getting them sited exactly is just not going to happen unless you are a superhero. Now that moan is out of the way the build itself is as expected from this line. I really like the Speed Champions series and am slowly collecting from the range as they are sturdy for play but also look really impressive on display. At the moment they are relegated to a dusty bookshelf but the colour choices made by the Lego team mean they show up well without the need to retrofit lighting. Even better, once built they definitely hold together well and can stand up to quite some amount of play before bits start to work free.Very happy with this little build that was just perfect for a late night relaxation session.Number Of Pieces: 198Approximate Price Per Piece: £0.07Build Time: 45 Minutes

The Chevrolet Camaro Z1 Race Car is a shining set for car enthusiasts ages 7+. Though it is smaller in stature and breadth than the otherwise larger Speed Champions that debuted a few months after this car made its first appearance in LEGO form, this model is surprisingly intricate. To start, this set comes with an exclusive Camaro racing driver, complete with blue helmet and licensed Chevy overalls. The minifigure also comes with a wrench (or spanner, if you like) element for him to change the wheels with, as well as a fuel tank to refill on gas (or petrol) during pit stops. The car itself is really a sight, with tires with the Chevy Camaro name printed on them, a specially-built roll cage, and a refueling dock. The color of this car is a beautiful royal blue, with elements of black and yellow. As for stickers, well, there are a few of them, but if they are a hassle for you, only one or two are needed for the car to look fantastic. At the current pricing, this set is a steal, so I would recommend looking into this set sooner rather than later.

I purchased this set at target in late January, and have zero regret of doing so! Although the set has many stickers, they are all necessary, but they make the build take much longer, and make it much more difficult. I definitely think that the printed wheel inserts are awesome, and the roll bar detail is incredible. the only minor complaint with this set, is that the minifigure included is very plain, and could use more detail. I have most of the speed champions sets from previous years, and find this to be at a better value than many other speed champions sets. Also, if actual LEGO employees do read these reviews, thank you for making such great toys! I love speed champions, creator (3 in1 and Expert),and technic sets so much!P.S.I would love to see a speed champions BMW M2 Competition, and maybe even an Aston Martin! (I think the BMW M2 would be a very easy car to design because it's lines are much more basic than the Senna, or Ford GT's, and because speed champions has yet to see a BMW(or Aston Martin))

I've now built the Ford Mustang, Ferrari F40 and Ford Fiesta WRC Speed Champions sets recently and I’ve become a bit obsessed with the series. As with the other Speed Champions sets this Camaro feels like a solid build and has some great features, although the stickers gets a little fiddly at times and there are too many in my opinion. Would be nice to see more printed bricks / pieces. Whilst this would add to the set costs I personally think it would be worth it.The detail of the roll cage is nice and authentic but when the kids are "playing" with it, it tends to come off on one end a lot. That said, it remains a nice feature.Minifigure is great as is the fuel filler, with a nice detail adding the brick to the rear quarter of the car so you can actually connect it. Great build again and now working out which Speed Champions set to buy next. Check out my other Speed Champions reviews if you're considering buying any of the sets, or alternatively, buy one anyway, you wont be disappointed.

I have been building Lego since i was four years old and I recently got into speed champions. After building this set and having it in hand i was shocked by the amount of detail. The build is relatively simple except for a couple of cool techniques used for the back. The sticker sheet for this set sadly is large and there are tons of stickers to apply but once applied look fantastic. Without the stickers the set wouldn't be neatly as good looking. I love the printed tires and the minfig is pretty cool as well. It doesn't get much better than this at the 15 dollar price point. I would highly recommend this as a gift for someone or just as a little something for yourself. If you like this i would also recommend the other speed champions sets Lego has to offer.

I got more than I expected when I bought this set. It has A LOT of pieces for a 1-car Speed Champions set, and looks extremely realistic. The build seems different from most Speed Champions builds. The 36 stickers make it look extra- realistic, and the opening back windshield and moving roll cage add extra playability. I do wish that some of the stickers covered multiple pieces, as I had to spent extra time getting them on and lined up with each other. Not fun. I also wish that the color under the back end was consistent gray or black, not a mixture of blue, gray and black. If you are looking for a realistic set or a good deal, this is the perfect set for you. If you hate stickers,I reccomend the Dodge Challenger and Dodge Charger set.

The chevy camaro zl1 is a powerful car. I really like the car in real life and..... in LEGO too. For a long time I wanted TLG to make a Chevy Camaro Zl1 set and now they have done.. So I dont like racing cars so I modded this to a street version. I edited the back and added a lot of new things. I also changed the car's rims. I didn't apply the door stickers because I needed it as a street car. I really like the details LEGO has put in this set. I really love this set and thank you The Lego Group for making this set. I just have one question: How can I apply stickers more neatly? Please answer! And also will you do a Speed Champions Lamborghini? Please make a Lamborghini Huracan Performante!

While I am not a Nascar fan , I am a car fan. I received this as a Christmas gift and put it together today. I will say that I loved building this car and the amount of detail that went into it! The roll bars where a really cool added detail. The car that got my attention was the first one I bought the 1968 fast back Ford Mustang.I didn't even know about the speed champions line til I saw that one. My collection of these cars has grown considerably. can't wait to get all of the new ones that have recently come in. Maybe this could lead to a line of vintage cars for Lego fans?

This model is really cool. It breaks some lego rules and has some unique build techniques. The lego driver barely fits in the model. The hands have to be in the perfect position. Also had to modify the inner roll cage in order to get the rear window to sit properly (see pictures). I trimmed a 1/16" off the prongs on this piece where it inserts into the the key part of the cage. Lego needs to do their homework on this model. Overall I still love it. I'd still buy it again. It's truly beautiful and I enjoyed the building techniques.

I absolutely love this set alot and I'm so glad Nascar finally is coming to Speed Champions even though this is somewhat of a promotional car for the 2018 race season and not a certain race team this is a very nice set and the build was very fun I like the color just like the real car and how it has somewhat of a roll cage inside I also like the fuel can which was a good small little add on.Overall this is a must for anyone who is a Nascar Fan or Lego fan and I hope we get more Nascar sets for Speed Champions in the future.

I really enjoyed building the LEGO Speed Champions Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Race Car. It was fairly easy building, and the end result was outstanding. However, I thought the stickers could be modified. The kit came with 30 stickers, and most were hard to put in their exact locations. It would be great if LEGO could make some stickers 2 or 3 in 1's. I thought that this was a high-end Speed Champions set, and would recommend it to you if you are over the age of 7.

I recently started watching nascar this year and when I saw this set I had to have it. Its truly a great set and just too good to pass up. Its has nice detail and there are so many bricks to achieve this detail that the vehicle has a nice weight and feel to it as well. I usually build Technic vehicles and the larger creator expert vehicles too, but speed champions line seems pretty great for what you get as far as value and looks.

I just wanted to say, that the boot of the car comes together in the most intricate and beautifully crafted way! I truly enjoy where the geometric molding of LEGO sets have been taken to. I remember getting car sets way back 25 years ago. They were much more blocky then. So, the curves and angles that you’ve been able to achieve in sets like these have been a huge factor in reeling me back in all these years later. Nicely done!

This is a beautiful set, the printed bricks covering the tire and the 3 by 1 printed Chevrolet bricks are really useful. The car looks beautiful. Young kids will think it’s cool, and older audiences can praise its accuracy and detail. I do think the stickers are overdone, there are way too much too be honest. Overall a good set, although the gas canister seems unnecessary and doesn’t add much to the build.

This was an awsome set. I loved how much detail and bricks were jammed into this small car. As a fan and collector of Legos and automobiles these sets are a must have for me. I loved the roll cage detail and didn't have to much difficulty with the stickers. (I use the brick separator to lay them. Works amazing) I had as much fun building this set as I did helms deep. I give this set full marks!
