LEGO Speed Champion line of sets are traditionally geared (all pun attended) towards two main builders; younger kids and gearheads! Like always, LEGO has nailed the 1974 Porsche set by making it accessible for both fan bases. Design:Porsche is well known for their streamlined looks and beutiful lines, and LEGO has done a fantastic job in incorporating them with basic LEGO pieces. The iconic Headlight cans and lamps are well represented, while a true to form hatch of the back is nicely set against the car spoiler.Difficulty:Can't really complain here, but as expected this set was was quite easy to build. Only a handful of sub-assemblies are present in the build which then attach to form the chassis, the cockpit, the body and finish details. All-in all there are no new or unique techniques that I found interesting while building the car. How fun was it to build?Judging a LEGO set that has under 300 pieces, that takes roughly 20-30 minutes to complete is difficult to have fun with. Feels like the build is over just as you got started. The highlight of the build, and the only place where I got a thrill out of, was while making the headlight lamps that look very true to real life 911 lights. Can I play with it?Very much so! As LEGO has been making car since roughly 1961, making car sets is definitely in their "wheelhouse" Bang for your buck:At around $15 it is near impossible to say that this set is overpriced or not good value for the price your paying. It also makes a great gift!

A few things are "off" about this set. First, I'll start with the hood of the car. We should have gotten 2 of the #33909 pieces instead of regular white 2x2 plates. There are too many studs on the hood and it doesn't look good - it looks very very unfinished, especially for the piece count. Second, the back window stickers are TOO LARGE - EVEN FOR ADULTS. They are difficult to line up properly and we're left with this white line down the middle of what should be a window. Third, the overall look of this car is deceiving in the pictures. It looks to be very round in shape but it actually comes off as very long. The distance from the front and back wheels are "off" for this car,as Porsche 911s are zippy and not at all like straight-line drivers like the Camaro (a surprisingly good set by direct comparison). This could have been disguised by giving us a rounder windshield maybe, not one that is so rectangular. Fourth, the cones/pylons. Why include only 3, why not 4? Why include them at all (a 2-piece build)? A waste of pieces if you ask me. Also, the inclusion of a helmet should warrant an actual racing suit because no racer drives in a bothersome tight leather jacket. On a positive note, I enjoyed building this without the usual boring chassis.

Great little porsche. Was really happy Lego released this car by itself as a stand alone set and in a different color, was not feeling that green color in the 75888 set . Out of all the speed champion cars this has to be my favorite one, the Lego elements comes pretty close in producing the look of the 911. I modified mine into a 1982 version with the bottom front bumper splitter, dual exhaust and gave it a staggered look (wide wheels in back, normal size wheels in front), i thought the front wheels were too wide and the designer should have used the normal size wheels all around to give it a stock look.I also felt the wing was a little big so i made it smaller and the red tail lights sat too high so i just flipped the red and white elements around so the lights sit right above the bumper just like the real life car

The car was an amazing build and looked wonderful but looked too large next to a figure. Using a couple extra pieces I was able to tear out a lot of the guts and shorten the build by a full 3 studs! It looks a lot sportier now next to other mini-fig scaled vehicles and feels more accurate even to the actual car. My friend came to visit and rented a white 911 for us just to have a good time. The experience prompted the purchase of this set less than a week later. I left the spoiler off, left the stickers off, shortened the wheelbase by 2, and brought in the front bumper. I used a 2x10 grey plate to tie the build together in place of the strange "step" pieces they included (see in photo).

This car set is absolutely amazing and a great experience building. I really enjoyed some the building techniques which are quite different from the new 2020 speed champions model that has the new chassis. I wouldn't recommend using the stickers (there aren't many) this car looks so elegant without them. It's an eye catcher. Great solid build overall and some interesting lego peices included in the set. I have used the spare piece to have 2 exhaust rather than one as I think it looks much better with 2 but that's my personal customisation. This is one of the best speed champions and I can't wait till lego to produce some different colours.

This was bought for me by my niece and nephew for Christmas. As soon as I saw it, I knew I had to have it as it looks just like the real thing. Once built, it feels robust and has a decent weight for the size. The one downfall I found, was the spoiler, it can easily fall off, especially if caught against something. I think the Speed range is fantastic and already have my eyes on the Audi Quattro Group B rally set. Would love to see more Group B rally cars such as the Lancia Delta Integrale, Delta S4, Stratos, Renault 5 Turbo, Ford RS 2000 and the list can go on. Please Lego, build these sets and I’ll be your first customer.

I remember loving the 911 when I was a kid (1980s) and "back in my day," LEGO didn't have sets for cool cars like this one. We had to figure out ways to build them on our own. Now it is fun to see these on the shelves. I also have the Ferrari F40 and I am hoping they will release a Testarossa, Countach, and other exotics. The only reason I gave this four stars is because of the rear window. Maybe just dock it half a star or even a quarter star. But this would have been an even better set if that was some cool custom window piece.Looking forward to more Speed Champions sets.

I've always loved Porsches, go a collection of model cars and now and then buy lego sets, I've got the rsr and zr1 and they were fun to build, zr1 took maybe 2h and rsr was a week. The 930 wasn't as long but honestly I prefer it because it cost no where near as much as the other two meaning if I loose a piece its easily relatable but also the amount of different body styles you can have are pretty crazy, I turned mine into a targa, a speedster and a convertible. If your looking for something for yourself for a bit of fun id definitely recommend it, especially for younger kids.

After building a few expert level creator sets I thought id give this one a quick go and was not disappointed. I still find these small car sets so much fun to build. Although simple, the details are still impressive with strong supports behind all the aesthetics. I hope there are some more classics that we see on the road to build in the future. The only negative and this sometimes applies to other builds, clear plastic such as windows, windshields etc arrive scratched and don't look nice when completed. To have the windshield at least on its own would solve this.

When ordering this gift elsewhere my order was lost, so i tried Argos instead. The item, while the box was slightly worn at the corners, is perfect and the young man who i bought it for was over the moon! It is sleek, cute, and just the right size. He made it in less than an hour, without any help, and hasn't put it down since he opened the gift. In terms of my shopping experience with this gift, it was quick easy and allowed me to successfully acquire my order. I would recommend this lego item!

This Speed Champions Porsche is a nice build that makes good use of some technic pieces. The racer comes with the choice of helmet or hair. I haven't given it a five star rating because there are some minor issues with it - the spoiler isn't that secure on the back and the canopy is rather fragile when assembled.I was partially sold on the fact that it was associated with Forza Horizon 4 which is an excellent game. There was a missed opportunity for a DLC car skin code to be included!

The car was a nice build, exactly the same as the lime green 911 that came out last year, but it's nice if you didn't like the previous colour scheme. The one problem I noticed was that the wheels have more friction then the other Speed Champion cars which is due to the wheels being connected together on one axial piece. This isn't a problem for me as I'll just be displaying it, but it doesn't have much roll at all if you were looking to race/play with it.

Brought this Lego Porsche 911 classic car for my son and he loved it in-fact we both really enjoyed putting it together and would highly recommend to buy one of these if you love building Lego cars. The Quality was also very good and looks really cool and it was also really easy to put together. Now my son wants to collect the whole Lego championship series!! Think our next model will be the Ferrari F40! :)

After building the green porsche from 75895 I just loved it and I was very happy that Lego got this white version back in stock. Please Lego do a blue version, then a yellow version, or just more colours, even a black, I'm sure they would always sell out! Just to add my own touch I put some spare wheels from other Speed Champ sets on both this white one and the green one. Highly recommend this set for all...
