I’m going to write a short summary first, and then expand on certain points. This is a fantastic set, with a great deal of play value, fantastic attention to detail from the designers of the mech/robot, a great selection of accessories and unusual bricks to use in your own Lego creations and sure to appeal to Ninjago fans and fans of super cool robots alike.Design and AestheticThis will come down to personal taste, but I adore the look of this mech. The combination of white, sage green and gold (with small hints of red, black and two tones of grey) is really successful and, from a cursory look at other Ninjago sets, is a new aesthetic for this sub brand. I also really like the ‘naturalistic’ shaping of the mech, with suggestions of anatomical details, such as knee caps, fingers and musculature, as well as cultural/armour references such as epaulettes and the samurai-look of the head piece. The enormous katana blade that the mech carries is perfectly proportioned (and cleverly, securely fits behind the movable finders) and the spinning blade weapon also looks cool - additionally, if you don’t like this element, you can easily un-lock it and replace with a flat plate (the beauty of Lego). I should also note that the mech is designed so the katana can be held in either hand.Personally, I really like the mech with the glider clipped in place, creating these dramatic ‘wings’ - plus the glider has two spring-loaded bolts/laser cannons, so, when positioned appropriately, this is an additional weapon in the mech’s arsenal. The mech is very pose-able. The hip joints are a combination of two ratcheted hinges (the legs can bend forward/backward, as well splayed out to the sides) and, whilst the knees are not jointed, the ankles are a ball joint which really helps the mech stand upright, no matter how the legs are positioned. The shoulders are a ratcheted hinge joint, mounted on a pin/swivel joint, giving great freedom of movement (the epaulettes are on incredibly flexible joints, so these can move to not obstruct the arms, which is an amazing attention to detail from the designers). The elbow joints are ball joints, so these can move a great deal, and the hands feature hinge-jointed thumbs and fingers.Possibly due to my age, I’m not the biggest fan of getting stickers to apply to Lego (and due to my experience of older sets with stickers inevitably getting a grimy line around the sticker edge, where, over many years, particles of dust accumulate and end up looking gross). I much prefer it when the bricks are printed with graphics. This set includes both techniques, there aren’t really many stickers (10 - which isn’t many for such a large set), and I think it looks really good without the stickers, so I have no intention of adding them to mine.ConstructionIt took me under half an hour to build the glider, and then another hour and fifteen minutes to build the mech. The assembly guidance for the minifigures are peppered throughout the instructions. As usual with modern Lego sets, the contents are divided into numbered plastic bags, based on stages of construction within the instruction booklet, which makes the build far easier and quicker to complete from ‘box fresh’ - how more difficult it will be once these pieces get subsumed into a Lego collection of pieces will be another story. The quality of Lego build instructions is just as reliable as it was twenty plus years ago when I was a kid: the isometric diagrams are so easy to follow, changes in perspective are well communicated, and the only slight problem I sometimes have is that the plastic colours aren’t always fantastically recreated in print (most noticeably the dark grey and ‘gold’ colour).Minifigures and AccessoriesI’m not a Ninjago fan and unfamiliar with the TV show and movie associated with the sub-brand, but have been quite impressed with the Lego sets that I’ve seen: as a sub brand, it seems to include a great deal of really clever build techniques and attention to the shaping of the models, which - while the TV show is obviously aimed at children - makes the Lego sets have a lot of appeal to older fans of Lego. So, with that proviso, I’m not hugely familiar with the characters the mini figures represent, but have read up on the soon-to-be screen TV series associated with this Lego set, so will do my best to describe them. You get two of the ‘good guys’ in this: Lloyd and Zane. Lloyd has two face designs, and has a hood (which doesn’t allow you to see much of either face design - you’d need to provide your own wig/hairpiece for him), silver katana, gold curved sword and a shoulder-armour-katana-holder. Zane is a special ‘Forbidden Spinjitsu’ version, with a hood incorporating translucent blue plastic ‘flame’ and has his 2019 design tornado spinner. The other four minifigures are members of the ‘frozen samurai’ group, a new faction for series 11. General Vex is the only named one, with cool translucent blue ‘ice shards’ in his helmet and body armour, as well as using a naginata (pole weapon with a sword blade on the end), which is used to carry his scroll of ‘Forbidden Spinjitsu’; the Blizzard Warrior has a helmet and body armour in the same shaping, but different colour, to General Vex’s, features two face designs, and carries a blue ‘ice katana’; the Blizzard Sword Master has a translucent blue head with printed face details, a torn cloth cape, two ice blue katana, and a roningasa-style hat; the Blizzard Archer has a red helmet, translucent blue ‘ice’ shoulder armour, two face designs, and a dark grey crossbow. The sheer number of minifigures gives the player a lot of opportunities, even without having any other Ninjago sets, and I quite like the ‘ice zombie’ style of the frozen samurai figures - spooky, but still child-friendly.ValueI think this is a great value set. Modern Lego sets always ‘feel’ like they are expensive, although the company has actually managed to make the sets much cheaper than those bought for me in the late 80s and early 90s. The Ninjago fan will get a great deal of play value and enjoyment from the scope of this set alone, while the general Lego fan receives some fantastic unusual/bespoke pieces, along with some new building technique from the instructions. I’d definitely recommend this set; whether you are a Ninjago fan or not.

This is a 30-40cm tall, pose-able Lego samurai mech with a detachable futuristic drone ship; armed to the teeth with saws, cannons and katanas alike: have I sold it yet? Hopefully not just yet! Before you go hitting that “buy now” button, I would suggest listening to some of my comments. Here are some of the pros of the set: fantastic figure design, both aesthetically and production-wise, but this is to be expected from a set of this price (expanded on below). The build process is enjoyable and non-repetitive without being too challenging for less experienced builders. Lego’s use of rarer coloured bricks, figs and accessories is also greatly appreciated, but again the price reflects this. Each play feature works as intended, and I am a fan of the inclusion of these for the sake of people who want to actually play with them! Finally, and maybe more obvious, the mech itself is expertly designed with GREAT attention for detail; having owned EXO-Force sets in the past, this particular set really exceeds the mark that Lego have set for themselves, so bravo!Cons: the legs. Simply put, they don’t move. Terrible design choice on Lego’s behalf as otherwise this set would’ve been near perfect. You can only pose the mech in a select few position as well, if you want it to stand up independently that is (I imagine this is why they fixed the legs in position, but neither outcome has paid off). However, besides this and the overall price, and furthermore getting your money’s worth as this really depends on the buyer, I love the set.If you’re a huge fan of the Ninjago line, I recommend this set. If you’re looking for a set as a gift, it obviously depends on your budget, but I would still recommend it. And if you’re simply a sucker for mechanised samurai warriors... I hope my thoughts have been of some help to you.Great looking set, would have easily made five stars if it’d been more pose-able.

I must admit I'm not a scholar of Ninjago like my nephews are, but I see a definitely design inheritance from Japanese big robot media like Gundam in this kit. It's a massive thing. You can see its scale next to the included mini-figures and it's impressive. At first I was a little sceptical about the non-standard pieces in the kit (my Lego years were before the tie-ins) but they make the figure look unique and interesting. As always, the pieces are manufactured to an exacting Lego standard and feel like they'll last a thousand years.Building it with my nephews took a good few hours and multiple sittings. It's a big beast with many parts and the instruction book is about 150 pages long! However, the instructions are clear and the progression is structured so the kids have something to play with from the start - you can make the minifigures and the flying vehicle first before gradually assembling the big guy. As usual, seeing it all come together is extremely satisfying. In terms of play value, I'm pretty impressed. I expected it to be quite fragile due to the complexity, but it's definitely something you can pick up and play with. The amount of moving parts and accessories makes it fascinating, and it fits in well with their other sets - eg: it seems to be equally at home fighting stormtroopers as it does transporting ninjas. It's an expensive kit, though you do get quite a lot for the money. Even as an adult I felt a wee bit envious...maybe I can start looking into how much Gundam kits are...

First of all, I'd like to say that this looks amazing! The mini figures are very well detailed with great looking armour pieces. I'd like to see other weapons than simple katanas and a cross bow but then that wouldn't be accurate to the show. This is worth the money, the set is a good height. I also really appreciate the fact that you can hold the sword with the pin, I know LEGO has done that for a few years now but it still is a great addition as I have The Temple of Light set back from 2013.This set does have a few minor flaws though, the flyer on the back of the mech does add to it, but the location of the spring loaded shooters are a pain, I've just taken them out and put them in the cannon barrels. Also, the dragon elements on the head or helmet of the mech are loose, they are a single stud connection which I don't really like but it looks really, really good with them on. I would've also liked to see a little sticker on the gold element for the eyes as they are in the program and it would've really completed the look to this set.Overall, I'd give this an 8/10 for good value, great looks and mini figures.

If you're a fan of the Ninjago series this Lego set would be absolutely tremendous - the size of it and number of bespoke pieces (at least to my eyes) makes it hugely collectable and very impressive on a shelf. It's not an easy kit, there are a lot of pieces to deal with, but as with all Lego the instructions are really nicely done and at no point does it become overwhelmingly complicated. The colours and theme are great, I really like the style of the robot and the accompanying characters - if you're a fan of the TV show and movies you're in for a treat, but really anyone can appreciate a giant robot with a sword and various Ninja minifigs.A great Lego set for fans and looks hugely impressiveon a shelf.

I'm a person who have been a little sick of the mechs over the years, but this one was surprisingly entertaining. Plenty of features, and way taller than I thought. I could do with maybe one more feature (a scabbard for the sword perhaps) but it's fine for what I payed for. I am also a little confused about the spinner included, which did not get infused with glitter like the rest of the ninja's. I'm curious about why that choice was made, but it isn't a deal breaker or anything. Minifigures are great, with great detail on the armor. Please LEGO, don't make another mech next Ninjago wave, let this one stand out a little and people will flock to it.

Absolutely perfect!!! My 10 yr old daughter has recently become a Lego fan but she prefers the project based builds like this one. She is not the most patient little girl but seems to be able to focus on these intricate Lego builds without problems. The fact it comes out just like in the box (and this one seems to be actual size on the box) it good too. The day this arrived she set down to do it. It took her about 8 hours in total but it now takes pride of place on the shelf in the sitting room.Lego never loses its appeal and is still a good creative toy that challenges young minds. This one is an excellent choice.

The instructions to build both the glider and the posable ninja robot are very clear and easy to follow. The final toys are a great size and look brilliant. The range of weapons and the moving parts all add up to a great toy.. The six mini figures that are included mean that there is additional playability and their imaginations really can run riot as they can act out different scenarios with the character. Once again with LEGO, I find the attention to detail really impressive. My two children were unfamiliar with Ninjago, but this didn't detract from their enjoyment of a superb model.

Almost 900 piece set, but with clear instructions so it'd suitable for an older child (recommended 9+) or younger with some supervision. It builds into a beautifully detailed piece, but there's also plenty you can do to customise it if you already have a bunch of other Lego, particularly from this series.Lego legitimately gets some stick for some of their less complicated, let's say, kits but they're still capable of hitting it out of the park with something like this. Absolute joy to build this with my nephew.

This set is so incredible to be honest I love its color scheme I love its design and Most of all I love the fact that lego has finally made such an amazing mech it’s tall sleek and so much fun for kids I also love the fact that it’s a 2 in 1 and the mini figures are fantastic but there is one complaint of mine which is articulation in the head arms and knees but after fixing these nitpicks you get an phenomenal mech if you have the pieces to fix these issues by all means pick it up because it is well worth it

Not one for young children this one. Titan is a big robot compared to the ninja action figures. It has a spinning slicer and a bit knife/ sword. It is from the ninjago TV show. It comes with full instructions and I am told my adult son that it is amazing. It is not on sale at the time of writing this review but checking in the Lego web site the RRP is £64.99 . So a it but but is be I think will be high on the list for fans of the show.

This set is really good money for the amount of parts you get and minifigures included. The size of the Mech is really good it's a lot bigger than I thought it would be and it can stand on it's own. I really like the variety with the ice/blue ninjas they all look a bit different because of the armour they have. It also includes some spare swords and banners which is a nice wee extra.

This is by far my favourite Lego set I’ve ever bought. It’s a very fun build with lots of different techniques to pick up on and some really nice minifigures so good for new builders and older ones alike. It is also a very sturdy model so playability once constructed is brilliant for young ones and coupled with its gorgeous design this also means that it’s a great display piece.

My sons loved building and playing with it. The 11 year old had to help the 8 year old build it. They told me it is one of the best Lego sets they have. It looks cool tool. It did seem to have a lot of pieces but what is nice about this mech is bit can come off the main mech and be played with separately.

This was one of my sons (and mine) favourite Christmas presents, it’s a seriously good set.It took just over an hour to build, and has mostly stayed together ever since then - which is unheard of in our house, especially when you compare this to the Kai Mech which loses pieces as soon as you look at it
