Long have I been waiting for this seemingly inevitable conglomeration of both Lego and Minecraft. My expectations were as expected: very high and I have yet to be disappointed. First of all, opening and building this set was a fantastic experience - it didn't feel alien, but the blocky Minecraft feel was apparent. The details included such as a tree for the skeleton to go under and the super-cube-like minifigure heads highlight the attention to detail given. What's even more impressive however, is the way that they've done this whilst keeping the number of new, bespoke pieces to a minimum. The set's coverage of the different elements of the Minecraft world is broad. It doesn't cover any aspects very thoroughly, but this isn't rare for Lego sets, instead they're about inspiring imagination, and yes this set does that perfectly. It includes 4 "minifigures": Steve, a sheep, a cow and a skeleton. It also includes many unique features like: a crafting box, a chest with a baguette inside, a pumpkin head and really awesome torches. The landscape includes: grass blocks, dirt blocks, cobblestone, stone and vegetation (e.g. carrots and wheat).Looking at this set from a non-Minecraft perspective its flaws are more apparent: it's rather basic and it is not to standard minifigure scale, but I believe it to be unfair to judge this set from such a perspective because the purpose is the introduction of Minecraft into Lego and Minecraft and Lego are actually fairly different. This set strikes the perfect balance. Is this the best Lego Minceraft set? Well, it depends on two things: the mobs you like (i.e are they included in the set) and whether you prefer farming, building or mining.

My son already has the first-night set so we already know we LOVE Minecraft lego. As unlikely as it seems a computer game which involves building things out of lego-like blocks as actually a lot of fun when recreated in low tech lego. The clunky feel and style of the game and the creative build anything ethos is a perfect fit with lego. The instructions were easy for a 7-year-old to follow and no adult intervention in the build was required. It really looks great - just like the game, even down to the pixelated weapons (a bow and arrow for the skeleton in this kit) and big square heads (you also get a pumpkin that you can swap for a head). There is a lot to play with post build and the instruction booklet encourages modification and rebuilding. This set merges nicely with the first night set (see 2nd photo)

My nieces, nephews, kids and every other child I know is OBSESSED with minecraft at the moment. When crowed together at family events they all vanish behind screens and Ipads to show each other their worlds (???) etc. leaving the adults in the room in peace. Now there are times when this is nice and frankly should not be knocked, however there are times when you want to interact with your children and dispites all my attempts I have simply not got the Minecraft gene. Lego on the other hand seems to be a universal in our household so I was thrilled to find a lego set that we can build and enjoy together. Now the set isnt cheap and the contents are not huge but, we have loved this and I fully intend to buy more (non too cheap)sets to extend our WORLD YAY.Just call me Minecraft super mum!!!

Bought this for my boyfriend (26) for Christmas and (as a Minecraft fanatic) he loved it.It comes with a handy guide to help you build the set up (as shown on the box) but obviously those of you that are more creative can build whatever you want with this set. As someone who's not a Minecraft nut I still found this set quite fun (and if any sort of accident should occur whereby it's end up in pieces) and I would love to have a go with it myself.A must have for any Minecraft lover, of any age (except below the age reccommended by Lego), or maybe even just those who love Lego and want something a bit diffferent!Only downside is that I fear I shall now have to buy the other sets for him as well!

This looks great and is fun for kids (especially given the Minecraft craze), but is heavily overpriced.Compared to other kits, this one costs above average for the basic weight of plastic recieved, you are paying for the Minecraft name.Having said that, the new pieces are well put together, even if you don't get a whole load of them. This isn't really enough on its own to constitute a Minecraft playset as it isn't very large when constructed. You are likely to need to buy more than one kit if you really want to build a Minecraft experience, again more money. However, expect the usual high quality from Lego, fantastic instructions and a well thought out scene.

This is a fantastic logo set it made my daughters weekend when we bought it for her every thing at the moment seems to be minecraft. It was a pleasure to build this with her it was easy to do it had to be I have not had much experience myself with logo when it was finished it looked very nice and now takes it place with pride in her bedroom. This set is great for the minecraft fan I would happily recommend it.

My 12 year old Grandson loved this pack but was disappointed to find only 1 carrot to grow on his farm. This pack as an addition to other Lego will keep him going the whole summer holidays and beyond - as a stand alone pack I think he would get bored quickly. I do feel you pay a premium for this pack which is the real downside but if it lasts as long as my children's Lego lasted I won't say anymore.

I love Minecraft and lego so if you don't like specific sets it might not be something you'll like.It is a little bit small and quite expensive but arent all these things.Other than that, it is superb and not the quickest thing to build. The lttle micro figures are so brilliant!!They make lots more LEGO minecraft products now which is great because Minecraft and LEGO are a really good combination

Not knowing a lot about it, I bought this for my grandson's 7th birthday. He was obsessed with this Minecraft on his electronic pad and also loves Lego building. He was delighted with his gift and is enjoying playing and having great fun with it. Lego quality is a brand whose quality I trust. So, as far as I am concerned, that says it all and this product and price ticked all the boxes.

My daughter likes the product but I find a lot of Lego over priced. As the price is inline with other Lego products then respectively I can not claim it not to be worth the money. However even with a great imagination the limitations of building anything other the stated is hard. Any mine craft fan or Lego fan will appreciate this though.

Lego speaks for itself, it's well made and my Grandson loves building it and even makes his own things from it. The only thing I would say is you don't get a lot for your money, I know Minecraft has just came out and is one of the top toys, but other Lego of the same price you get a lot more in.

Packaged brilliantly all pieces bagged and instruction booklet. Complete set you would not have known it was not new. Great gift. My daughter is a minecraft fan and loved building the lego model. Delighted with purchase. Good value compared to new product prices which were ridiculously high!

This isn't particularly cheap, but what Lego product is?However, I do not mind spending money on items that I know my son will get a lot of use out of, and this is one of them.Lots of fun to put together, for both of us!

granddaughter thought it was the best as she plays minecraft on her dads x box, and can now recreate it ,and play with it when not allowed on the x box, she likes all things lego and this was the icing on the cake

My son had this for his birthday and he has played with it endlessly since. He has added other Lego bits to it and has made himself some cool little villages! It's a decent sized set with a few figures too.
