Lego friends has always gone down well in a household with my girls. It's colour palette seems to be more attention grabbing for them than the traditional lego, Im not sure if Im helping re-inforce gender stereotypes here or not, ultimately I'm just happy that they've gotten into Lego and it has given them as much enjoyment as it did for me.This set however takes the more gender neutral colour set and uses cars, a garage, spray paints, car ramps etc. Its characters are also male and female (and it has a cat) so whats not to like here?!My little girl is 5 and she cant follow any instructions and that has made the build process longer having her help me step by step. This however has meant some more fun time together with the frozen/annie/greatest showman soundtrack on (delete as applicable or just do all 3 like i did) singing along and building slowly. I reckon on your own maybe under an hour to build this, for us it lasted 4 days of 30-60 min sessions. The sliding doors and car ramp have proved to be the most played with items and the cat seems to have his own subplot. As ever with Lego things fall off and she's not too precious about sticking other bits on and adapting.Always a more premium priced toy but at this price point the time taken and how it can plug into every other lego set means that this will keep giving for a long time.

Ah, the old "girl lego". Although this set, apparently (I'm not 100% sure, it's hard to tell) has a man in it, so there's at least one man in this weird dystopian lego future where everyone's female and everything's pink.Anyway this set is cool, because it has wheels. I literally judge lego sets by how many wheels there are, and it's not a bad metric to be honest! There's a few "action features" in here too. It's a "big" box but the final build isn't that big, so we're talking small pieces (lego tends to price things by price per piece generally). The build took about 2 hours for our child. There were a couple of tricky bits around the gearing of the opening/closing door but nothing particularly technical,it would suit 7+ ; might be a challenge for some 6 year olds if building on their own.It has some play value once built, you can muddle the cars up a bit, I guess maybe roleplay a sort of pink need for speed style car respraying operation. Maybe.I'm still wondering what's wrong with the traditional lego figure.

I've always loved LEGO and jumped at the chace to give this a try. I've never had any of the LEGO Friends range before and I'm still a little nervous about my beloved LEGO being divided up into ranges that are marketed along gender lines. This set, however, attempts to blur the gender-stereotyped lines a little, by providing a go-kart kit with workshop to play with. It is still very pink/purple but at least it's a nod towards the fact that not all girls like to get their hair and nails done or pursue other typically 'girly' pursuits that LEGO Friends sets have been promoting in the past. The set is good quality - as expected from LEGO. Being a set,it provides limited scope for using your imagination to build freely but there is a lot of scope for role-playing as characters and devising races etc. for the go-karts.All in all, this is a good fun set that should brighten up a LEGO fan's day and provide many hours of fun play!

This Lego Friends Creative Tuning Shop set fits in nicely with our grandson's other garage related Lego set ( Car Wash). It has plenty of colourful pieces which are made to the usual high quality standard that's typical of Lego. The characters (2 people and a cat) are all interesting and the assembly difficulty is just about right for an eight year old. That's to say not too easy that he got bored of it quickly but also not so difficult that he became frustrated with it. Once assembled our grandson has spent ages re-configuring the model and playing with it. And as already mentioned he has integrated it into his now ever expanding Lego empire.I don't think you can go wrong with Lego...its still one of the best toys ever invented.

My 7 year old daughter loved this set. She's not particularly bothered about Lego, although she has other Friends sets, she never really enjoyed putting them together. However, she really enjoyed putting this together. It puts together a garage & racing cars into a package I would say it's trying to be more appealing to girls. There are spare car parts to customise the cars, a nice touch. I also like the car ramp and the big spray can logo. I also love the sliding showroom door.I particularly like this Friends pack because most of the other ones my daughter has are very bitty i.e. small parts of one set that don't really connect e.g. the 41349 set.

Super little set with the weird, doll-like figures. Great, customisable carts and a big, colorful garage frontage. My granddaughter added it to her Harry Potter castle setup and Lord Voldemort of course wanted the best go cart.A bit tricky to put together, but at 8 she managed it herself. It has had replay value though most of the bits are now part of her huge lego box.

I got this for my nieces five year old daughter and she absolutely loves it. It took her around two hours to construct it by herself, and it was a joy watching her as she progressed. The set has lots of parts, many of them moving and the showroom glass front gives the set a nice touch. All in all, this is a Lego set that will provide hours of curiosity filled fun.

This is a great addition to any afficianado's growing Lego world. It is a stand alone garage set with two human character and one cat, plus a couple vehicles and the garage itself, but will work best as part of a larger collection. The bricks are brightly coloured and the set itself isn't overly complicated to assemble. This is another solid set from Lego.

This is a fantastic Lego Friends set! Wasn’t sure whether to opt for it or go for one of the more gender targeted sets... But this is genuinely great for boys and girls. I bought it for my son but my daughter chose it over the Glamping set which my son had instead. As usual with Lego it has some brilliant detail and design features.
