When I first saw these Lego figures I was not that keen on them as I thought that once my son had built the model he wouldn't have much else to do and would quickly get bored with it. I didn't think they offered much creativity as the toys were already defined as a particular character (Jet Ray, Big Chill, Swamp Fire etc..). I remembered my days playing with Lego building blocks when it was left to you what you created. However, my son was given three different kits/characters for his birthday and he (and me) has spent a lot of time playing with them. If you have more than one kit then the different parts can be mixed up, creating different characters. So for example you can put Jet Ray's legs on to Bigg Chill's body,

This was a second-hand toy - they are no longer available new. My son was very pleased when he saw the box. However, when he opened it, the figure was already assembled!!!!! This was a pity as the whole point of buying lego is so that a child can spend some time fitting all the pieces together to see the finished product...my son didn't get the same enjoyment as he normally does with a new lego set.
