Ah, the original Kuhn Rikon Swiss Peeler.. where would I be without this little marvel. Of all the gubbins in my kitchen this peeler, along with my hand made Damascus steel Japanese chefs knife, is probably the most useful. It's also genuinely one of the most pleasurable to use. Though simple - and perhaps because of its very simplicity - it is completely reliable, virtually indestructable and utterly competent at what it does. Electric gadgets come and go but my trusty Kuhn Rikon peeler is a constant and shining star in the firmament.Peeling the veg, most especially spuds, is a task that many of us grew up to regard as a punishment. I am not kidding you though when I tell you that since my discovery of this peeler some twenty years ago (yep,it's a classic design) my whole relationship with the food I peel has changed. My mums old stick shaped peelers were horrible, half blunt and tiring to use. Peeling with the Kuhn Rikon is a revelation though. The blade is so amazingly sharp that it cuts in an ultra smooth, buttery, almost sculptural fashion. The way you hold the veg is different too, and so much easier - I find myself admiring and enjoying the form of what I prepare now. What was once a chore has become a mindful and meditative time for me, and I'm completely at one with my task.Only really good tools - beautifully designed, deeply functional tools with soul - can achieve this. They don't have to be expensive, but many are. If we are lucky we encounter such a delight now and again, and if we are fortunate we can afford to acquire it. I genuinely cannot think of any other kitchen tool that could possibly be of such utility or give greater joy for such a tiny price. And you even get three with this bargain multi-pack! You deserve to purchase and use these marvels. You really do!

Nothing is worse than peeling potatoes with an old potato peeler that doesn't work well or a paring knife that takes much of the potato. I remember those days, and they are long gone. Potatoes for our family are left for Holidays or special meals. Now,new have this new peeler that makes light work of peeling. This peeler glides through fruit and vegetable skin without a hitch. Its lightweight and unique shape makes it easy to hold and work around all sorts of shapes from apples to pears to butternut squash. There are six co,IRS,and when my children come for a special dinner, they all leave with one. That is the only way I have found to keep a peeler in my kitchen. You can machine or hand wash. The price point is right. Pick your favorite color.Recommended. prisrob 08-24-14

I have been looking for a replacement peeler for ages after the excellent one I bought cheaply in Lakeland finally expired after over 10 years use. I can't get on with the "pen" shape ones, and many of the metal y shapes, whilst efficient peelers, were too wide for my palm and the edges cut into my hand. This peeler is truly excellent. It is very lightweight and comfortable to hold, and zaps through potatoes, carrots etc with ease. Picking a bright colour means it's very easy to spot in the washing up bowl or on the counter. (I am not an organised person!). You can't fault it at the price in my opinion.

Fits well in the hand and feels comfortable when peeling potatoes. Was looking for a replacement peeler that didn't have the eye tools sticking out from the left hand side and this fit the bill perfectly. Very happy with my purchase, it makes peeling potatoes a breeze. It has a smooth peeling action and is easy to clean.

Bought as an add on item but definitely a great purchase, I've never been good with peelers, always preferring to use a knife, but this is a smashing gadget, so easy to use, very thin strips of peel so not much waste and easy to rinse afterwards and pat dry ready for next time, I'm converted.

Probably the best peeler I have used I all tho this dose not seem as durable as some it works very well and lets be honest if used correctly how much damage can you do with a potato and if you do manage to somehow damage if you get 3 in a pack and cost less than the 1 steel one

As a peeler i have to rate this item very highly. It glides effortlessly with potatoes and carrots and at the same time does not take too much skin of. Very sharp, nice shape, perhaps the handle could be designed better, but overall this is a highly recommended buy.

These little peelers have carbon steel blades and they are super sharp & a pleasure to use. Takes a thin slice off squash, root vegetables or anything else without any resistance. Doesn't take up much space in the gadget drawer either.

Really nice and sharp peeler, plastic a little bit flimsy but its quite inexpensive, I've used other expensive brands but none are as sharp as these for giving a smooth peel as this one. As relatively inexpensive have bought a few.

Bought this as a replacement for a lost peeler. Can only assume I threw it out with the recycling! Works well and is easy to use. Some of the colour is coming off the blade so that isn't great but it does what it is meant to do.

As many of the other reviewers say, this is a great tool. Sharp, fairly ergonomic, and easy to clean. It's cheap enough that when it does get dull - or rusts, because it's carbon steel - you can just get a new one.

I have bought peelers that are more expensive and simply do not work.I purchased this based on previous reviews and can confirm that they peel potatoes, carrots well.Great value and look good.Definately recommend.
