Loved by me hated by potatoes*One month in and still going strong. This has got me through upwards of 125 potatoes so far and still counting. It has also taken out 2 fingers - so I wouldn't recommend this for the young, infirm or for the inebriated/hungover as it is very sharp and can be dangerous if not properly controlled.I would happily recommend this to anyone! It is a good price and extremely effective. Teamed with ASDA's Finest potatoes this is a winner for chips, roasties. Suitable also for other veg - I think the seller is selling themselves short with the description. Could cope with at least carrots (if used gently) and at most a turnip (for the strong).Comfortable to use (carefully)and extremely effective tool. Well done.*And my sink too - which keeps clogging up with peelings.

Solid, perfect for its purpose and a fairly beautiful little object.Speeds up peeling tenfold and its actually a pleasure to use - I now look forward to a pile of un-peeled potatoes! It also serves as a decent citrus rinder which usually is far too delicate a job for the average peeler. Will also reduce a carrot or a cucumber to a pile of ribbons in seconds - perfect for an elegant take on a vietnamese salad.Up there with the micro plane graters as an tool that is so far beyond it's competitors it may as well be a new category...

I thought the speed peeler that we've had for a few years was effective but this is much sharper and gives a much cleaner cut. The lightest of pressure gives a good clean peeling action. Be just a little firmer with it and it produces thin, even slices of vegetables very effectively. It's nicely weighted too and very comfortable to use. It says it's dishwasher safe but, like any really sharp blade, I've opted to just clean it by hand which takes no real effort. If you like kitchen gadgets, you'll love this.

Love it, I love the useful and dare I say accurate way that it can remove part of a finger or knuckle. Most impressive. When I'm not trying to remove my appendages with it, I find this peeler to be a rather wondrous thing that does peely things, very well indeed. I also like that you can peel one way and the other (opposite) without turning it, by which I mean, both sides are cutting edges, so you can push-pull, should you be so inclined and have the derring do spirit! Tally-ho!!

Arrived a day early and just used it for the first time. Never used one before, but have to say it is brilliant!Ergonomics are really good, design is really good and 'definitely not' cheep and tacky. Product has a decent weight, too. Sliced through veg with no effort and really quick. Perfect for anyone like me who has arthritic hands and have a problem peeling with a knife. Definitely recommend this product, and for the price it's well worth it. 5/5 ?

Sharpest pealer I’ve used. Very comfortable to hold, the shape is great, it’s reasonably weighted and the blade rotates partially while peaking so your wrist doesn’t have to.Can be put in the dishwasher, but I wouldn’t often. I’ve had a few of these, and the handle on one went rough after regular use in the dishwasher. Will happily peal through tougher veg such as parsnips and sweet potatoes. Go on, you know it makes sense.

Yes it's a good peeler but be careful it is extremely sharp.Twice I have slipped, the first time it ripped through my thumb nail very painful. The second time it slipped on the potato and ripped the tip of my ring finger off and almost the tip of my pinky finger. My ring finger bled for 3 hours. Not the fault of the peeler and I'm not young but I have never in my life done anything like this and now twice with this peeler.

Y veg peeler? :)I like this one! Simple in design and better than most. Isn't that always the way?It has a good weight to it so does the work for you - no need to press down as much as lighter ones and therefore safer although. . .It is razor sharp of course so be aware!I've peeled spuds - sweet ones and king eddies alike! Turnips - carrots (of course) and even a pineapple!Flew through em all no problem.

I was looking for a replacement peeler of this type. The one I had used for years (different make) wasn't easy to keep clean so the design of this peeler really appealed to me. It doesn't disappoint. Super efficient at peeling, comfortable to hold/use and whilst heavier than my previous peeler is a breeze to use and very easy to keep clean. Spuds have never been stripped of their skins so quickly! Recommend.

Finanly found a functional and beautiful looking vegetable peeler. As a vegetarian I peel ample vegetables... I need a peeler that is sharp and works quickly and functions well and this one is visually beautiful to view... nice weight in the hand too when in use... love this peeler, wish I'd found this one before wasting cash on other inferior ones by Brabantia etc

Very good item, have used quite a few over the years and this is so sharp i even cut my self a few times. I dont mind shedding a little blood from time to time as long as it gets the spuds peeled! Just be careful. Handle fits nicely in your hand and the weight of it makes you feel in control rather than the cheap plastic ones that feel like they are going break.

I thought the standard static peelers were the only ones available until I watched various cooking videos and discovered this. It is much, much easier than static peelers and working with it is far less grueling. The handle feels nice in your hand and its a decent weight, cleans up in the dishwasher, and doesn't take off a lot of flesh along with the skin.

If you are tired of using standard peelers and want a quality peeler then look no further. It’s sharp, robust & looks good too. It does feel heavier than your average peeler but I personally like that. I’ve owned it now for nearly a year and it’s still sharp & looks just like the day I received it.Very impressed & happy with my choice.Highly recommended!

Used a peeler like this whilst on holiday abroad and thought how good it was compared to the tinny ones I usually use.I searched the net to see if I could find one similar and found this one.It is as good as the one I had used abroad. Very well made and does the job.It is worth paying a bit extra and having one of these stronger peelers.

Bought one the same in a small shop in Whitby about 5 years ago and it never lost it's sharpness and being solid you can put more pressure on if needs be. Unfortunately I managed to throw it away by accident in our food bin (according to the wife) so have had to buy a new one. I can't say anymore than it will last you for a very long time.
