I am basing this on the first play session (with one of my 9 dogs) so as yet I can't really comment on durability as I only got mine today and I have not tested it with some of my larger dogs. I went for the extreme one as the black kongs are meant to be the most durable. It is very similar to a toy of the late 80's early 90's called "goops" (basically a flimsy rubber Frisbee). It does stink when first unpackaged and it does arrive folded so it is better to leave it to straighten out a bit before you first throw it. It is worth pointing out that these are very very thin and flimsy, they are a catch and carry toy only, do not let people or dogs have a tug of war with it or let your dog chew it or it will be ruined in minutes! If you use it for the correct purpose I don't see there will be any problems. I had a good 30 minute session with it and it was so effective the dog was tired out and wanted to stop playing. I found that the dog could pick this up and carry it so much easier than a solid plastic disc, there is no risk of injury or bleeding gums from these either and they are easily washable. It does take a while to get the hang of throwing it properly but with the correct technique it really does go well, much further than I can get a normal Frisbee to go. The only thing is it is so light it is affected by the wind more than a solid disc would be and the only slight down side was that when the dog carries it folded up it it changes shape for the next couple of throws and doesn't fly as well but it soon straightens out, for that reason I would give it 4.5 stars but seeing how much the dog loved it makes it without a doubt a 5 star product. Im hoping if I look after it well enough it will last a long time.

Ignore the nay-sayers, this frisbee is fantastic! This is my second one, last one I bought about 5 months ago and my large boisterous German shepherd has been playing with it daily in our large garden every single day we chuck it back and forth for at least 15 mins per day, sometimes a few times a day. We throw it across about 1/2 an acre, it throws quite well you just have to practise a little, flies much better than our last bunch of frisbees. It's soft so it doesn't cut my dogs gums and he can pick it up and carry it no bother at all. The only reason I had to buy a new one was all of a sudden he was determined to distroy it, it took him some effort used his paw to hold it down and rip it - little monster! My dog LOVES this frisbee,it sits at the back door and he picks it up every single time we go out the door. The only other robust frisbee we've bought for him was from PAH and they last 2-3 days, are £2.99 each and cut his gums after a while and do not throw well after first session. I totally recommend this for all dog owners, especially if your dog goes through regular frisbee regularly.

Lots of misundestanding about this product. Yes, it’s softer and a lot lighter than the red Kong flyer. It comes folded in two and indeed it whiffs of rubber. All of that said it’s a better flyer than the red one and hangs in the air longer, allowing your dog to catch it more easily. We have a 11kg terrier and frankly the rugged red Kong would be too bulky to pluck out of the air with his jaws. From mine and the dog’s point of view then it’s perfect. The fact it folds should be seen as a plus, you can even stuff it into a jacket pocket and it will fly just the same when you take it out.Long-term there’s no doubt the red one is built to last, so if you have a chewer or like to play tug of war then stick with that. This is closer to the puppy flyer in terms of build.

Purchased for some outdoor fun, and my dog loved it. Admittedly she hasn't quite grasped the concept of letting me toss it yet, but she does love running around with it flapping in her mouth - while sporting the patent dalmatian grin. It's not a toy I ever intended to let her use inside, as she prefers to demolish and eat everything she gets her smiling little mouth on - which is why I prefer the Kong rubber toys for her.The Frisbee isn't thick, but for strictly outdoor play where she won't get the idea to rip in to pieces and eat it, I'd say its perfect. After all, it's a toy meant for tossing, not to be used in tug of war, and from my experience, it works exactly as it should.

Great toy for our Lab'. One of, if not her favourite judging by how hard it is to get it off her! Ours has lasted over a year with regular play and puts up with all the chewing and shaking it gets. Also doubles up as a makeshift water bowl if it's hot. There is a technique to getting it to fly well but once you get the hang you can get some good distances with it, and because it's soft I don't have to worry about our girl's teeth or mouth when she's grabbing it out of the air.

Brought this for my sister staffordshire bull terrier and she loves it. She has very strong teeth and left alone with the top she will rip it to pieces, but take her to a field and throw it for 15-20 minutes and she is knackered. Well worth the money and just make sure you take away from your dog when you're done. It's not super plastic and it won't last - so don't let your dog have the Kong flyer when not in use. Enjoy dog lovers!

This is a very floppy flyer. Once thrown it travels quite a distance. I think because it's floppy my dog loves to shake it when she picks it up. It seems quite robust compared to others which is something I need with a Stafford. So far she hasn't damaged it, but in saying that I haven't left it with her to chew on her own. I'm pleased with it and would buy again.

This is a fantastic frisbee, my 1 year old labrador destroys any toy she touches but this has lasted half a year and is as good as new.Super good for exercising her too! I have a spare in case I throw this on a roof or lose it - had a few close calls.Just a note, it's difficult at first to throw as it's weirdly floppy, but it gets easier with practice

Brilliant , it does at first seem to be made quite flimsy but I think that's to do with the flyability. My dog absolutely loves this frisbee and doesn't bother with any others . I think it feels good in her mouth. She loves carrying it around and letting it flap on her face too! We lost our first one in the sea in Scotland so wil have to get another

Bought this for a one year old puppy and immediately thought it felt thin and flimsy. HOWEVER it's actually really good. There are no signs of damage and it's still pristine after hours of catching and attempted chewing. It also flys well, too. Would recommend this for those training or playing with dogs.

Got this to try with our Jack Russell. She loves the red one but likes to play tug with it and it got a tear (we have another one coming as she loves it). This one is different and floppy but she loves it too. We throw it and she runs after it and shakes it in her mouth like mad. Very pleased.

While I dont understand why a black Kong Frisbee is cheaper than a red one, I do get that this was great value. Very robust and has stood up to my Labs gaping maul of destruction extreamly well. It Flies? Glides? well, given it is not a ridged plastic type and the rubber is extremely strong.

both of my dogs love it, border collie and staffie and sore far its proved to be staffie proof, she has given it a good go at destroying it, because it was folded over when it was packaged it doesn't sit entirely plat, fly's OK as a Frisbee would be better if it hadn't been folded over

My dog loves this frisby and the soft rubber it is made from is very very durable and insures he never hurts his gums. Kong makes brilliant dog toys and I would recomend any one of them to anyone. No other dog toys my dog has owned have ever outlived any of his Kongs!

I use the Kong frisbee for exercising my Staffie/ whippet cross rescue dog it’s brilliant throws very well and upto now there are no teeth puncture holes,or distortion on the disc.Moose ( the dog ) loves it and carries it proudly when we set off for a walk
