The idea of a rubber ball that could withstand the abuse of a chewing machine sent the human slave into a state of happiness. It was long something she had wished for, and had finally found. The human slave proceeded to order one for the wild beasts that owned her, and they waited patiently for it to arrive. The human slave was very pleased when the kong ball arrived, she thought it looked perfect, and hoped that the tribe of beasts agreed. The KONG looked to be a solid, well made product that could withstand much abuse from her delightful chewy chums. It came with some simple packaging that even the most sophisticated chewy chums could have appreciated, and it arrived safely and was delivered to the paws of the licking panting shedding machines. The waggy tailed chewy chums loved the smell and taste of the stinky rubber. Each to their own. She tried to tell them that if her keyboard smelled like that she definitely wouldn't lick it, but they were not put off by her reservations. The toys sent the pack of wild beasts into a frenzy of bouncing, wagging, panting and general euphoria. The relationship with the stinky rubber ball went on forever. They would take the black ball and sit with it, aimlessly chewing it for hours, making a beautiful symphony of squeaking rubber noises. Mozart couldn't compare. Even after several months, and then eventually years, the ball still stood up to the test of large sharp beast teeth and regular abuse. The toy stayed intact with only a peppering of tooth marks all over, like tooth holed freckles. They were firmly in love with these stinky rubber toys, and they lived happily ever after together

Brilliant product! My mum has a 1 year old springer spaniel who can destroy anything except kong toys! This ball is great- he can't break it because it's a rubber type of ball and he isn't able to get his teeth into it properly. Keeps him entertained for hours! If you have a dog who can chew through everything I DEFINITELY suggest you get this ball! Best money I've spent on a chew toy ever! Had this for months and still in perfect condition- so good I got another so he can chase the 2 of them! I also suggest you get the kong wobbler treat dispenser- you put dinner/ treats in it and the base of the toy is weighted meaning the dog has to work to get the food out.Again it's great for keeping him entertained for ages and really challenges him. He also gets to work off a good bit of energy too! Only down side is it's noisy on tile and wood floors but, again, he can't break it and he's had it 10 months now. So although Kong toys are expensive they are extremely worth it!

If you have a dog, and especially a puppy, the mere thought of a Kong product provides instant relief. I’ve got several Kong products and they’ve not let me down yet.The Kong Treat Ball is made of their hardest rubber so has the greatest chance of standing up to the most playful of pup. There is hole through the centre into which you can stuff a treat or two. As with all Kong treat toys it’s advisable to use some kind of paste or soft food to help wedge the treat into the toy. I recommend soft cheese (cheap supermarket stuff is fine), peanut butter (essential to make sure it doesn’t contain Xylitol as it’s poisonous to dogs….Sun Pat and Skippy don’t use that so should be safe)or Kong’s own spray-on paste.Once you’ve given the dog their ball they’ll spend many enjoyable minutes fishing out their food from inside, and you can use it to encourage puppies to learn to fetch pretty well too.

I'm disappointed that some other reviewers have been disappointed about the Kong Extreme Ball. I have a staffie too and there is NO dog toy that is indestructible to him, if he takes a mind to destroy it - which, naturally provides him with a lot of enjoyment. So, once that indisputable fact is accepted, the Kong Extreme Balls are AS GOOD AS IT GETS. They are better (ie, longer-lasting) than everything else that we've tried. If you think they will last forever when your own power chewer gets to work, then yes you will be disappointed. However, a more reasonable approach can be happy that they will last maybe 2- 3 months. I believe this is excellent value and nothing more could be asked for.My dog gets to play with them only when we're playing chuck. When it's game over he has to give them up. This helps preserve them for the next game.

We got this for our big 32kg mystery lab/spaniel/mastiff-ish cross who destroys every toy we ever give him in 30 seconds flat. This dog has the biggest mouth you have ever seen; it's like a teaching aide about obtuse angles covered in a mile of skin rolls. He's had the ball for a couple of months now, and there is still not a single mark on the rubber, despite him spending endless time rolling it around his big assortment of teeth and face flaps. He loves it so much that he will not put it down at all on his walks, and if you throw him anything else he just runs over to it and does an excited pounce dance with the ball in his mouth. Best thing I've ever bought him, along with his large Kong extreme.Nothing else can take the punishment he hands out to his stuff, and if he ever loses it we'll replace it immediately.

Quite simply awesome. I have a four-year-old Am-Staff crossbreed who loves to chew and this should be renamed the indestructi-ball. He loves it! With a small, hollow core which allows treats to be placed inside and which also provides a welcomed airway when he's carrying it, certainly does the job. It bounces a bit, but is solid and a decent weight.Only small gripe would be the colour of the ball. Not the easiest to spot in the grass/foliage and given that he is a black dog, quite difficult to make out when he has it in his mouth from a distance - still provided it doesn't go walkies by itself - it provides really great value! Recommended!!!

Whilst it is indeed just a ball, it's one that my 8 month old pup has yet to even dent, 1 month in of use. He gets through most toys within 10 minutes, so for me it's worth paying extra for something that will last. There's a smallish hole through the middle of this ball so you could put some treats in, but I suspect they may get stuck.Only knocked one star off as this ball is super heavy! Sounds like a strange criticism, but if your dog likes to throw balls around when playing with them, it could easily do damage to anything nearby (and it sounds like bombs are dropping on the house if you've got laminate/wood flooring...)

My Staffy GS X absolutely loves this strong, robust, hard rubber ball. If given a tennis ball he has it totally destroyed literally in 5 minutes. This KONG EXTREME rubber ball is fantastic - so far it's not even got a tooth hole in it - just an occasional little tooth mark, but I am incredibly impressed at how good this ball is. It bounces well and despite its black colouring, it hasn't gone missing yet because my dog always finds it. If you have a high energy dog with strong jaws, I would definitely recommend you buy one of these balls (it looks like it is going to last a long time unlike cheaper thinner balls).

In 3 months of daily use my GSD has made little impact on this ball. He doesn't get to concentrate on chewing it but he chomps down on it hard whilst playing fetch and carrying it on walks. The ball is relatively dense and heavy so if you don't have a strong arm you might have trouble throwing it very far and i doubt it would work well in a ball launcher. Despite it's solidity the ball bounces well and once it's got going travels a long way. My only real issue is that it appears to come only in black - which is not a good colour to look for when it ends up in undergrowth. Otherwise an excellent product.

My German Shepherd loves this ball. She has played with it daily for the last few months and there isn't a scratch or bite mark on it! I like the fact there is a hole in the ball. I have put a rope through it and launch the ball via the rope to throw it a fair distance for the dog.It is heavy - heavier than a cricket ball - so without the rope to catapult it I would struggle to throw it any reasonable distance. It's also slightly too big to use my tennis ball scooper to throw the ball.I would have preferred it in a bright colour - nearly lost the ball when it sank in a muddy puddle.

The monster, aptly nicknamed "Boo-Boo", is a 35kg Weimaraner-shaped destructive force of nature. His wrath left piles of plushies and stuffed animals in his wake, torn to shreds the toughest rope toys and has even devoured so-called indestructible toys. In his spare time, he chews bones to pieces in quick time. However, in the Kong ball, and XL Kong, he has met his match. Hours of play and not a single mark, the beast has been appeased. Cannot go wrong with Kong Extreme. Highly recommend to any dog-disguised beast that destroys the lives of teddy bears and tennis balls alike.

This toy must be one of the best I've bought for a while. our pitbull loves to fetch, but his jaw is also quite strong and he likes a bit of chewing on the way to give it back when we play. And as much as I love chuck it balls, they're just not strong enough to last longer than month with him. This one on the other hand still has some bounce even though it's tough rubber. I know it can be filled, but we already have plenty of bone and original kongs to do that job. This is definitely the ultimate fetch ball for tough chewers, that is also affordable.

I have a Spaniel X Staffie. The spaniel half of her wants to chase the ball (constantly) and the Staffie part wants to destroy the ball. I have even bought 'Tough' balls from a well known pet store...... it takes her exactly 12 minutes to totally destroy the ball into hundreds of little peices. This ball bounces well, hence 'the chase', but it is just a little too big for those staffie jaws to destroy. The spaniel part of my girl carries the ball around with her, and....the staffie part of her can't break it. Happy dog. Happy owner

We have a Rottweiler who makes mincemeat of most toys because of his powerful jaws, but this ball has defeated even him trying for over 4 hours he has hardly left a mark. I highly recommend this ball for any dog, I am not saying it is indestructible but isn't far from it.My only suggestion to Kong is can you make it available in different colours as Black is quite difficult for me to see as I am partially sighted and a colour would make it more visible for me. He tends to know where ever it is.... 5* product.

As a staffy owner I have difficulty finding tough, hard wearing toys for my dog. This Kong & other Kong exreme toys (the black ones) are the best if you want something that doesn't get chewed up in less than 10 minutes. My boy has had one of these for over a year now and there are no chunks taken out of it whatsoever, unlike other rubber balls I've bought him & picked apart in seconds (and come out at the other end if you know what I mean!) 10/10! Highly recommend! Great for Staffords, EBTs, Bulldogs etc!
