I bought this steamer for my son who has borrowed our steamer several times throughout the year. We've had our similar steamer for around 20 years and always found it an invaluable kitchen essential, which allows you to steam vegetables (cabbage, spinach, sweet corn, green beans, asparagus etc, etc) on top of another saucepan in which you are cooking potatoes, pasta etc thereby saving fuel and space on the cooker, as well as not allowing essential nutrients to leach away in water. Our steamer has a stainless steel lid but this one is even better in that it has a glass lid so you can see how the contents are getting on.

I live alone and do not need a big multilayer steamer and before purchasing this I used the basket out of a pressure cooker on top of my saucepan to do the same job. But the pressure cooker basket which was aluminium was wearing out fast so I needed to find an alternative. The universal steamer fits the bill perfectly and being stainless steel it is made to last for a considerably long time. It fits just right on my existing saucepan and having its own dedicated lid has made things easier for me too. The only word of caution to anyone that buys this product is the handle on the lid. Use a cloth or oven glove when the steamer is in use as the heat from the steam does conduct to the lid

Arrived fast. Packed well. Glass lid has small hole to let excess steam escape. Lid fits well but not tight.I was glad to find that the lime green silicone handles sold on Amazon site fit the handles of this model steamer so you can remove the steamer off your pan on to your waiting draining board without suffering the heat of the handles - much safer than oven gloves or a towel. The lime green handles are just a little bigger than a perfect fit but adequate - they stretch to fit other handles,

I had purchased and used a steamer for my baby's food prep. It used to be very clunky and difficult to clean and made the whole meal prep process a bit of a painful chore.This sits sturdy and firm on our pan and we just leave it and get on with other tasks.If you're steamy any food this will be a perfect aid to do that

Purchased this for my Aunt as she was having problems getting this type. She is now in her 70's and has used one all her cooking life. She and I have been very impressed with the quality of this make and how sturdy it is. Being used 2 or 3 time a week and likely to be for years to come.

A valuable kitchen accessory, enables a full main course to be prepared using just one burner. I would think campers and bed-sit dwellers would find it very useful. Holds much more and projects down into saucepan much less than the usual steamers that come as a set with a pan.

So pleased I bought this - in fact I bought two!!! I steam all my veggies. This fits on top many of my sauce pans and they fit well on top of each other. They are deep so you can fill them well. Mine took a head of cauliflower and a head of broccoli in one steamer happily!

Great that it adds an extra steam pot to my steamer but.... I've got a 20cm pan stack so unfortunately the base of this pan extension does actually take up most of the pan beneath it where the other two size fittings sit .... But other than that it does what it should

Sturdy, lovely feel, looks great. Fits my saucepans very well. Turned out a fab steak and kidney pudding using this. So much better that using a steamer insert in a saucepan. So happy with this. My pudding basin fits inside with room to spare. Great value.

Marvellous steamer. Very sturdily made, good stainless steel, and very efficient. I never used to steam my vegetables - now I do so all the time. The glass lid is heavy, well made and well fitting. The steamer fits two of my saucenpans. I'm well pleased.

We used to have a bulky steamer that sat on the worktop. With this steamer you can put it away and only get it out as needed. It is excellent at steaming vegetables, you dont need a special pot for it and easy to clean. Great product

Made food last night, chicken dish, and steamed all my vegetables in the biggest pan. I like my vegetables with a bit of crunch. It basically took no time at all. Easy to rinse and wash. Really happy with it.

This is great for steaming on a variety of saucepan sizes - the one you have spare in the moment when cooking, and is easily transferred to another saucepan should you need too. Highly recommended.

Exactly as described and just what I wanted. I’ve seen much more expensive versions but this is perfectly good - there’s no need to pay a fortune. I’ve used it twice and it washes easily too.
