My mother bought herself a pressure cooker about 60 years ago. I have just bought what I think is my 4th (and the first time I have moved away from good old Prestige)and this pan is a complete puzzle. Let me say at the outset that it is easily the best looking pan I have ever seen (and that includes my quite posh Le Creuset stuff). It comes with a little multi lingual book which has two pages in English telling me that it can potboil a bit of beef in 35 minutes. Well, I already knew that. What it doesn't tell me is "how". There are absolutely NO instructions other that those shown in the picture on the outside of the box it came in. Those boast of a "pressure relief" valve but only tell me it exists, not how to use it.There is a little dimple on the lid (at a guess that is to tell me how far round to turn the lid in order to open the pan), a valve with a yellow stripe and two pink stripes and three black stripes. The little book tells me that the "first" stripe cooks at 107C and the second at 114C. But gives no clue as to how to know which of the five stripes is the first or second. Nor how to move between them. That book also tells me that for things like stews or soups I don't need any insert. (I think I already knew that). For whole fish it tells me to use the solid insert. For boiling a chicken I should use the perforated insert. So far so good. Except that there aren't any inserts in the box. Neither solid nor perforated. And seemingly, no packing space for them in the box (unless they were supposed to be inside the pan).No instructions, no inserts so I have a rather beautiful pan that I can only use as a saucepan. Not as the pressure cooker I intended to buy.It gets one (probably 5)stars for its quite delectable looks. Will probably be on its way back unless I get some missing bits.Oh, and Amazon's amazing delivery service continues to impress.Update 4 years on.I have changed my rating to 5 stars. The missing bits turned up. So did the instructions. And after 4 years of regular use - including a couple of accidental "boil dries" the pan is as functional and as pretty as ever. I won't be going back to Prestige!!!! Replacement gasket is expensive...but the original one is still in perfect condition even after 4 years so "expensive" seems irrelevant.

I had a pressure cooker all the time my children were growing up. I was so in love with it I even took it camping, even to the south of France. Not such a stupid idea when you think about the quickness of cooking. Some how we lost touch and I haven't had one for about 20 years. I never realised what I was missing! What a dream! This one is so quiet, reaches pressure very quickly but most of all THE FLAVIOUR!! I wasn't one for over cooking but stews and soups have soooo much more flaviour with this pressure cooker. I have an induction hob and it works perfectly. I like the slow release button. So much better than dunking it under cold water and your cooker hood sucks up any smells. My only minor complaint is that, being left handed the fact that it closes from the right makes it quite difficult to close. So far I haven't manage to close it in less than 4 tries. I suppose with more practice I will succeed! If you can get it a good reduced price, it is very well worth it. If you want quality, unfortunately you have to pay for it and this pressure cooker IS very good quality.

Having never owned a pressure cooker before I bought an aluminium prestige high dome! Once I had been convinced that using a pressure cooker wasn't virtual suicide, plus I realised what a time saver it could be, I did a bit more research. After reading reviews here on Amazon and reading reviews from pressure cooker experts I decided to buy this pressure cooker. It is now, officially, my best friend. I love it!!!!!!!It is so easy to use, no more guessing whether the weights are jiggling enough and the steam is hissing enough!Just watch the rings appear and time your meal from there. Potatoes ready to mash in four minutes, steak casserole in 15 minutes etc, etc.All on low heat so using less fuel.I love it so much it sits on my cooker all the time. Lovely to look at, easy to clean a brilliant machine!Unfortunately, they are addictive, so am now looking to buy another in a different size....or maybe two.......

I have used a pressure cooker for many years but I wanted a larger size and stainless steel. This WMF looked perfect and I wasn't disappointed in fact I wish I had bought it sooner.Easy to use and so quick. Doesn't make a sound and comes up to pressure in seconds and retains the pressure with the heat turned off so saving money.Easy to clean and excellent finish. Cooks like a dream.Even if you have never used a pressure cooker before this one would be easy to handle.Cooks Seville oranges for marmalade in 15 minutes and potatoes in 5 minutes. Vegetable soup takes only 10 minutes. The price seems a bit high compared to other models but it is worth every penny.

Needing to replace my old prestige pressure cooker, I read the reviews for this model and decided to splash out. I like the additional capacity as it enables proper batch cooking.Beware of buying from a warehouse deal, I initially did this and the pan arrived with an ill-fitting lid, however this was easily returned and refunded. I then purchased again from the warehouse, but paid a little more for a "good as new, box could be damaged" This one is perfect and I saved around £30.The pan is amazing, I use it virtually every day, cooking soups, casseroles, curries, pasta sauces etc. The website has useful tips and recipes, there is no recipe book included.

In my eyes this product is the best money can buy at an amazing price. Although sometimes a little large for the job in hand, I just make a little more an freeze the remaining produce. Pressure cookers can be a little daunting to use, but once you have used it for the first time you can see how safe the interlocking mechanism is and your confidence grows to the point that you are looking to find out what else you can put together in your new cooker. Not the cheapest model around but you are buying a quality product for a very good price.

Our previous pressure cooker was good - Tefal Delcio - and I never comtemplated replacing it until we discovered that the handle on the lid had a rusty screw and was threatening to fall off.Now we have a Rolls Royce of Pressure Cookers. No more dripping or hissing (which I thought was normal), instead silence, speed and well-cooked food.I find the guidelines for cooking provided with the pan just what I need, the orange rings are very clear, and overall the cooker shouts out 'Quality'.

This pressure cooker is brilliant! perfect workmanship, so perfect that I left it out on the benchtop just to admire it. The WMF is quick to heat up particularly on an induction hob and then a 1kg brisket cooked in 1/2 hour. Fantastic. Watch out though you need chunky veg as they are cooked in about half the time of the meat. If you are looking for something to do the business on tougher meats or need food fast this is the machine.

It has been many years since i used a pressure cooker mainly because of the HISS!The new machine has no hiss, and is lovely to look at but more importantly cooks superbly with minimum of heat. Once up to temperature turn heat almost off for few minutes and then switch off altogether and leave it to carry on cooking. Soups, stews , boiled ham all in 20 minutes wow indeed.Don't forget to buy the trivet etc so vegetables easier.

You really ought to buy this if you're looking for a pressure cooker, the other folks have said it all, it is really good. I spent some time researching pressure cookers and this one has definitely come out tops for me. I then went ahead and purchased it and I have got to say it is a wonderfully engineered piece of cooking equipment. I am really glad I have chosen this particular brand.

This product is amazing! Dried beans (kidney, haricot etc) 20 minutes! Vegetables 5-10 minutes! Christmas Pudding 25 minutes! It's easy to use - even our teenage children can do it. Saves on gas / energy / money and because your food is steamed it's healthier for you. Can't recommend it highly enough. And buying it 'as new' on Amazon made it even better. Happy cooking!

It's been easier to use than I had thought. Intimidated by pressure cookers, I was encouraged by a friend to get this brand. As a newbie, I'm still in the beginning stages of learning all I can do with it. But, so far, the beans and rice dishes I've attempted have been awesome. The pressure cooker is an easy clean, too. Best home appliance purchase I've made.

Have used Tower & Prestige pressure cookers for years but had to upgrade when we got an induction hob...and boy am I glad we did, this is amazing. Love the extra safety features & the quick release for steam. It is easy to store with its removable handle too. Even won over my husband who thought it was going to be a waste of money :)

We have used pressure cookers for many years and several different brands but this one is the best. It feels like a quality product and produces perfect cooking results every time, and most importantly it emits very little steam. No hesitation in recommending.

If you want fast food but with the goodness locked in, this is the business. I've used a pressure cooker since a child, but this is by far the easiest and best yet. Capacious and easy to use and clean. Why on earth would anyone not want one?
