This is quite possibly the best thing I have ever brought! I did quite a lot of research on pressure cooking and pressure cookers before taking the plunge. You can get much cheaper ones but as I only intend on buying once a lifetime I took this option from the German company WMF. Am I glad I did, it really is quite impressive. The build quality is excellent and the heat transfer through the thick base is almost like magic compared to my other pans, do have to be careful not to over do it and burn food on the bottom but once I realised it was so rapid I now use a lower setting. You save time on all the usual tedious things like potatoes and it opens up a load of other options for dried beans along with making nice soft lamb in minutes not hours.I run it through the dishwasher all the time and as long as you remove the gasket and handle it seems fine. The gasket did absolutely stink of rubber when it was new and I had to boil the pan under pressure several times to get rid of the smell. Not a massive issue but worth noting. The little pressure gauge/indicator is great and allows you to set the pan on exactly the right heat to keep pressure but not over pressurise, if you do it makes an annoying honking noise that means it needs to be lowered. Once you know the settings that work you can cook with a minimum of heat. For me it is the smallest hob on setting 2 of 6 to maintain high pressure. There are also hidden benifits that I was unaware of such as the our tiny kitchen doesn't fill up with steam and then I vent the steam out of the window at the end, which is great fun and quite spectacular. The kitchen doesn't get so hot as you are not wasting all the extra power on the hob. I intend to take the small pan camping which will be great to cook decent food quickly using less fuel. All in all very happy, although it is expensive, but at least this option gives 2 pan sizes so is more versatile. Would be nice if it came with dividers for the trivet but not a big disadvantage.

WMF is a remarkable German company which produces cookware that is the best we have ever come across. When it comes to pressure cookers, we like many, have a long history of using the old aluminium high-top Prestige pressure cookers. Since then we bought a stainless steel Prestige pressure cooker and were bitterly disappointed. This is especially important for all food that is acidic, such as fruit, tomatoes etc which reacts with aluminium and the aluminium chemicals in the food are poisonous, damaging kidneys, linked to altzheimers and many other health problems. We finally decided to pay the extra and get a WMF pressure cooker, it is by far the best pressure cooker we have ever used, superb materials, finish, quality, engineering, performance and design. We decided to buy the set, which means a larger 6.5 litre pan and a 3 litre pan with one pressure cooker lid. It is a more cost effective way of getting both pan sizes. We already have ordinary glass and stainless steel WMF pan lids of the appropriate circumference from other WMF purchases so we are set.We are conidering buying a spare seal but they last quite a long time so I will get round to it later.I highly recommend WMF all cookware, (we have ceramic core pepper and salt grinders from them as well as kitchen knives), and especially their pressure cookers, yes you pay more but the performance and value for money make these relatively cheap compared to the rubbish other brands are selling, which I would no longer accept even if they were giving it away.

I have been using pressure cookers for over 25 years, and I must admit the WMF Perfect Plus does take pressure cooking to an entire different level. I am blown me away how fast this pressure cooker cooks. I have cooked a lamb stew falling off the bone tender in 20 mins, risotto and lentil dhal in 5 minutes. Whisper quiet! Simply amazing!Once everything's ready in the pot with the lid on, and pressure is established, I have to turn the cooktop down to the lowest setting. Otherwise, it starts to warn pressure is too high. Even in the lowest setting, it cooks extremely fast. Just amazing. I am still getting used to adjust with the cooking time differences between this pressure cooker and the original pressure cookers that release pressure as it cooks. My lamb stews used to take 50 mins at least and legumes used to take just as long. I am looking forward to try gravy beef stew, as it used to take 1:30 hrs to cook in my old pressure cookers. It will be interesting to see the time difference. The economy is also noteworthy, since with my ordinary pressure cookers I always cooked with the highest setting of my cooking top all the way through the cooking. It is quite an investment to purchase these since they are not cheap, but it is an amazing piece of engineering.I could not be happier with my purchase and choice. Thank you everyone who has left feedbacks here. They were very helpful!

I love my pressure cooker set! Expensive but worth it. Made some wonderful meals. The cooker doesn't hiss like my Prestige Smartplus did in fact at first I doubted it was working as it was so quiet. When it reaches pressure you only need a very low light (gas) to keep the pressure. I bought a glass lid separately and it has proved its worth already as I can put it on the cooker when stew, etc is finished. Then when we want to eat I can use the pressure cooker lid on the smaller pan and cook potatoes, etc. The pressure cooker is heavier than my previous pressure cookers but not so much that I can't lift it if I need to run it under the cold tap when releasing pressure quickly. No recipe bookwith the cooker but as I have used pressure cookers for 40 years that's not a problem but if you are a novice you might struggle. Bought BBC Good Food Pressure Cooker recipe book for more ideas and it is brilliant.

Excellent stacking combination . The smaller size gets to pressure very quickly and both cook silently for minutes only. The hip pressure cooker web site and cook book are excellent for cooking advice using WMF. I have since bought the 4.5l and keep the larger pot for steam puddings, whole chickens and stock. The smaller sizes heat up quicker and are more convenient to use. Ive got rid of most of my old pans. Cooking veg in foil packets is a revelation. Meals in minutesand hardly any energy used to cook. Easy to clean and saves all those dirty ovens and splash backs. I am a total convert!

Classic, constant-steam head pressure cooker that saves vast amounts of energy by not pumping costly steam into your kitchen wasting gas/electricity. Our family experience here in the UK and in Spain has provided proof, if needed, that the German precision manufacturing and finishing lasts for generations.

Beautifully made. A real asset to the kitchen. Having the smaller pan gives great flexibility. So much more efficient and safer than my old pressure cooker which used to scare me as the valve jumped up and down. The size means I can use it for pasta and as a stock pot. Absolutely delighted with it.

I am really surprised on how easy to use the pressure cooker despite never used one before. Been using the 6.5 ltr one nearly every week since I have got it. Not sure the 3.0ltr one is very useful. Generally very well made and easy to clean.

This was a replacement to another one that had completed years of heavy duty service.......did not even entertain any other brand. Very happy with product and Amazons service

Great functionality, especially with two sizes included in the box. Beautiful finish and great quality. Prime example of grey German engineering. Will last a lifetime!

By reputation well made as expected however little if no technical advancement over twenty five year old Tefal.

26.10.2016

Had it a few months and find it great for making stocks and soups as well as quick meals. Works as expected.

Awesome, we use them all the time. Everything but the handle and seal go in the dishwasher!

so much better than the standard pressure cookers you see in the likes of argos or tesco
