Stockpot was received, as usual, within the specified time and in good condition.I purchased this saucepan/stockpot (due to its larger size) for occasional use only . Have you ever had company for dinner and cooked, say, spaghetti Bolognese and not had a pot big enough to cook the spaghetti in? So then you have to use 2 separate pots, strain 1, dish up, strain the other and discover that by the time you have done the 2nd lot, the 1st lot has gone cold on the plate? Grrrr! Me too! Lol! That is predominantly why I bought it and it has resolved the problem perfectly! I have got a larger one than this, but that was bought predominantly for making jam. Although, this would also be useful for jam making as it has high sides to prevent boiling over.I am absolutely delighted with this stock pot. It is very stylish in design and the quality extremely good, particularly considering the £28.77 I paid for it. It is not the heaviest gauge steel but then I wouldn't have expected it to have been. But I had to have a solid base pot due to the fact that I have a ceramic hob and this fits the bill perfectly.I have ceramic tiles in the kitchen so didn't want one with a glass lid in case I dropped it. This has a stainless steel lid like my existing set so is great. I find the stockpots more versatile as because they are all metal, they can be used on the hob or in the oven. I checked quite a few before deciding on this one and it would appear that if you intend to use this type of item in the oven, you should check their suitability as some can only be used up to certain temperatures even though they are classified as "stockpots".With regard to the handles getting hot, as they are riveted on and hollow (reducing the conduction of heat), they are not too bad at all. Just use your own common sense as you would when removing anything from a hob/oven. The knobs on the lids do get hot so, again, just use your own common sense and use an oven glove or tea towel. All in all a well earned 5 stars.

As any self-respecting Italian will tell you, you should cook pasta in a lot of water and for that, you need a big pan. It's incredibly difficult to find this kind of pan in the UK. This kind of pan, which in Italy is standard, here is sold as a 'stock pot' pan and as such, there is a lot less choice and often the quality is poor. You can spend a lot of money on stainless steel saucepans, but this Master Class range is a good compromise. It's not top of the range stuff but not the worst quality, either. I bought two of these pans, in different sizes and I'm happy so far. The lid on one of the pans came with a slight dent, but it didn't bother me enough to send it back. The two handles are a necessity when you're draining a large volume of boiling water - I don't know how people in this country manage to cook with small saucepans with just one long handle (the horror). The handles and top of the lip are not heat proof (standard for this kind of pan) and you will need oven gloves or mitts to touch them.Overall, I'm happy with this range of saucepans - they're good value for money and perfect for cooking pasta.

This is an awesome piece of kitchenware! It arrived speedily, and I was so excited to get it. I put it thro the dishwasher a couple of times (because the manual recommended washing it first. Used it now several times, and I've never looked back. One of the best buys ever...The manual said that the handles may get hot, and so to use gloves. However, I've made several beef, chicken and pork etc. stews now, and I like to cook my stews slow, real slow; kinda like 2 to 3 hours before serving. Never once have the handles been hot; and altho I wouldn't recommend taking the lid off to stir without wearing gloves, I have found that personally I haven't had to use them much. It's a good quality stainless steel (I was quite worried about that when purchasing it),but I needn't have been. It's sturdy, big, but surprisingly not too heavy at all. I don't know how I managed before without this stewpot; making stews in a saucepan was never ideal, and it's now, I'm more than happy to say, a thing of the past.I highly recommend this stewpot!

Had this for about a month now. It's larger than expected, but certainly as described. About a third cheaper than my first choice, too.I use it for soups and such, once or twice a week. It comes with a 20-year guarantee, if I remember correctly. But for the peel-off see-through sticker on it, you wouldn't know it comes with a guarantee, which is odd.It looks and feels like a regular stockpot, large and heavy, with a reinforced base. The handles and the knob heat up on the stove. Don't sprinkle any salt in it until the water's already boiling, or you'll have ugly white spots on the inside. This isn't a low-maintenance pot. It cleans up nicely, and you can always freshen up the metal when it gets dull with lemon juice or vinegar water. It's made for wood and nylon tools only, and you should never leave them inside. Because the base is made of a different type of substance, with different physical properties, you should never leave it to boil dry,Otherwise, it's a decent stock pot.

This is a great big metal pan. When I ordered it, it was because I wanted a great big metal pan, however on receipt of it I think it might me a little too big for my needs. The thing is, 11 litres is nearly 19 1/2 pints! I wish I'd looked that up before I ordered it rather than half way through writing a review!I can't blame Amazon or the manufacturers if I ordered the wrong size of pan though, can I?So, the pan itself - it's solid, nothing flimsy about it and from first use it looks like it'll last well.If you want an 11 litre pan, then I'd say that this is the one to go for.I'll probably end up cutting eye-holes in it and wearing as protective headgear for if I'm ever walking through Rochdaleat night.

This isn't the highest quality pan you can find, the steel is pretty thin, although the base is decent enough. BUT, for a stock pan, it seems ideal (I've only used it once though). Why pay a fortune for a pan that will only be used for simmering? It cleans up nicely, is the perfect size (for me – 11 litres) and looks good. I'm slightly concerned about the handles, they just don't look that strong, which you really need when you're lifting 5+ litres of boiling hot stock! However, I haven't had any problems (yet!). All in all, this seems like a good quality stock pot that I hope will last for years. My first batch of chicken stock was the best I've ever made.

Seemed a bit expensive but when it arrived and I gave it a good try out, it turns out to be worth every penny.Bought to make BIR curry gravy, just the job!Heated up very quickly on my ceramic hob, this must be due to the `encapsulated base`.Has to live on top of my fridge freezer due it's size and my to lack of cupboard space but looks really good sat there with it's high shine finish. The knob on the lid can get very hot whilst cooking. Maybe this is due to it being hollow, possibly a solid one may have been better (or maybe worse, just guessing). However, the handles remained cool throughout a 4 hour cooking session.Overall.. Very nice!

I needed a new pot for when we do pop up evenings and this was the perfect size! It has seen alot of use over the past 6 or 7 months and is still in excellent condition. I see from some of the reviews that people have mentioned the item rusting but this hasn't happened to me. If food burns at the bottom as some reviewers mention it's not the pots fault; you are cooking the food too high or without moisture!I do only wash by hand and it is dried off almost immediately so with this level of care i fully expect it to last a good few years. If i needed to buy again I definitely would as it represents good value for money!

Looks great and I can get three chicken carcasses in to make stock and still be nowhere near overfilling the pot. Handles stay relatively cool to the touch even after simmering stock for two hours. Boiled a 4 Kg gammon for Christmas ham in it - bit of a squeeze but got it in with 2 inches of headspace to spare, the close fitting lid was great for keeping the steam in when simmering over a low heat (usually the kitchen is like a sauna) Next year will be boiling the Christmas puddings in this and before putting fruit into jars. Making your own stock (freeze roast chicken carcasses until you have 2 -3) reduces food waste.

Bought this stockpot 2 years ago for cooking a 5 kg ham at Christmas time and was really pleased with my choice. The ham fitted in easily, and cooked well, the handles stayed cool throughout the cooking time and were strong enough for me to carry the full pot to the sink to empty it. I have used it many times since for stock, as a hot water bath for bottling and for cooking large amounts of apples in. The pot cleans easily and looks good. It isn't what I would call professional quality, however it is a good price and perfect for the few times each year that I use It.

I am delighted with this pot. It was exactly the size that I was looking for, to fit in with my existing steamer and other lids, and quite tall so things don't boil over any more.Construction is very good - it has a very smooth finish inside with no boltholes or welds at all, so it's easy to clean and hopefully much less likely to rust. It also works well on my glass/ceramic halogen hotplates, probably the best of all my pots.It arrived very quickly from the supplier and the price was brilliant compared to similar looking products.

This is an excellent stockpot, and it has been well used since I purchased it. Mostly it's used for making batches of soup, though I have made Bolognese sauce and chilli in it. I have the 8.5L size, and it easily copes with recipes containing 4 litres of stock and large amounts of veg. I am ordering a second pot in the same size to cope with the large number of family we have returning home for Christmas. It was well packaged and delivery was prompt. I can highly recommend both the pot and the service.

I love this ! I’ve made a curry and a stew and a one pot pasta dish in this and I’ve had it for like a week and a half. It’s massive and perfect for anything I could think of doing with it. I did get the 11 and it’s probably way too much for cooking for 1-2 people at a time, but perfect for meal planning and bulk making for the week. When browning onions I did stain the bottom of the pan ( a lot!) but like the label says just a bit of vinegar and baking soda and it cleans back up to looking new.

This pot is fantastic...so far. a little apprehensive about its longevity due to some of the reviews but so far so good. great for doing big batches of stocks, soups and grains. when the summer comes will test out with jam but im sure will need a lot of attention to prevent any burning and damage to the pan. the fact that it comes with a warranty is a good sign in my opinion too!highly recommend this pot as it seems durable, of quality and great value

I bought this as a housewarming gift for a friend. He called me when he received it and was absolutely delighted with it. He said it's well made and has a good solid base. He hasn't used it yet but I'm sure it's going to be fine if the many positive reviews are anything to go by. The 25 year guarantee is a plus.ETA: He has contacted me to say is has used it and he was over the moon with the size and it's performance. Excellent value for money.
