The Good: Price. Lots of space. Efficient. The Bad: Slight play between pans when stacked. Handles get hot when in use. There isn't really a lot to be said about a steamer, it either does its job or it doesn't, this one does, albeit with a few slight niggles. The price cannot be faulted at all, at just over a tenner shipped it's great value. I couldn't find anything locally in big supermarkets and smaller kitchen stores for under £20. I bought it primarily for use on an electric hot plate in a caravan, but have also tested it at home on a gas hob and it worked well on both. The width of the pan is quite large so allows for a lot of vegetables to be cooked in one go if you're cooking for more than one.The few down sides I found are that the handles do heat up,this however happens to all metal handled pans and is easily gotten around by using a tea towel. I have used plastic handled pans in the past where the handles don't heat up but eventually melt and fall off, so its a durability versus inconvenience issue. The thickness of the pans isn't as good as others I've owned, but after a month of use it hasn't been a problem. The last niggle is that when stacked the pans have a little bit of play so do allow a little steam to escape.Overall for the price paid I can't complain. It's an attractive pan that does its job well and shipping from the Marketplace seller BARGAINS-GALORE was fast and packed well.

Purchased on Amazon more than 3 years ago and it's still as good as the day I bought it. This little steamer has been through a lot of work - initially purchased to steam baby food (veg/fruit) - it has been in regular use steaming potatoes for our regular Sunday roast, used daily for steaming broccoli/corn/etc for dinner - I could go on. It is one of those pans which would only be as good as the care that you give it. After every use, I handwash with a bit of handwashing liquid and white vinegar, scrub gently with the sponge, rinse and the most important bit is DRYING it with a tea towel before storage (otherwise any residual dampness will make it develop rusty spots - this happened twice when I neglected to dry it.Fortunately, however, using the dishwashing liquid and vinegar solution removed such spots after handwashing). Great little steamer if looked after properly.

I absolutely love this steamer. I previously had a good electronic one, but it was bulky and was heating up very slowly. The main reason I bought this and my previous electronic steamer is to steam manti (large meat dumplings/tortelini). With electronic one it took sometimes more than half an hour to get them ready, while with this one it normally takes not more than 10 mins. With veggies it takes normally few minutes (5 or less) so we often have steamed veggies for dinner.I suggest try steaming broccoli for 5 mins, then add a bit of lemon juice, oil and some seeds or nuts (we like either chia or pine nuts). It looks stylish as well, so instead of taking a lot of cupboard space,it's now a design element of my kitchen (see pic).

bought as a present for my sister in law in france, and she hasnt stopped using it. She like me always hand washes these, as I found that they hold the water in the rims when put in dishwasher (mine is slightly different to this) so I cannot comment as to the performance in the dishwasher for this product. For a small family its a great size. seems light but it does a great job. Best thing for me using this type of steamer is how quick they work. I did have an electric one which took ages, and had to have water topped up. Cooks great, and evenly, easy to clean, stacks away well.

This is a nice compact sized steamer. It's not as big as my old one but it's a reasonable size although you might have a bit of a problem if wanting to use bigger dishes to steam. With 3 tiers you can steam different food items at the same time. It's made of stainless steel which is durable and feels solid and not too thin. The glass lid is good so you can view the contents inside without removing it. It's easy to clean.I got this for a little over £10 and am quite happy with it. I would recommend it if you're looking for a small basic steamer.

I bought this steamer as my family had out grown our smaller one. This is great because with the wider base the water heats up quicker and the veges steam quickly too. It is lighter weight than my original one which I thought may be an issue, but after using it for several weeks now this has not proved so. Very happy with my purchase, which was very, very cheap. The picture displayed with this review is not my steamer - my steamers bottom pan is not as deep - maybe they sent me a substitute model?

This is my best buy tip for the kitchen, especially for Xmas coming up. I watched a Jamie Oliver dvd and he had one of these but with 3 full tiers for use in steaming veg. I wanted one for general use but also for cooking Xmas dinner and space saving, I tried this last night and was very happy, it only has 2 full tiers to use but still does what I wanted, saved space and cooks veg quick with no hassles. Really great service by the seller and very quick delivery. Excellent addition to my kitchen.

This steamer is light, however as it is used exclusively for boiling water that is not a problem (as far as I know saucepans are heavy to spread heat evenly). At £14.40 this is something of a bargain. It works well and is a good size for Chinese dumplings, dim sum and the like. The upper containers do not intrude much on the lower, leaving plenty of room. I spent some time looking at steamers and concluded this one looked good - after a couple of months using it I have not changed my mind.

I purchased this to replace my other 3-tier steamer as I'd broken the lid! This one's thinner stainless steel so more lightweight and not quite as robust so hope it will serve me as long as my original one (6 years). It steams just as well, but the water doesn't drain easily from the 2 top steamer trays. Surprised it is now advertised at £6 more than when I purchased it only 8 weeks ago - pretty sure it wasn't any particular special deal at the time. That's quite a whopping increase!

I read some of the feed back of this steamer and all most did not order ,however i did ,and am i pleased YES ,its great ,all the pans fit well ,fits on my cooker ring fine , cooks great ,my old steamer [ two years old ] ?? the handle fell off ,would not fit back on , and i paid £40 for this , not very good for two years , now this new one costs just over £12 , i just can not understand why it is getting bad reports ?? i am very happy with it .

This is a really good steamer. It will easily hold enough vegetables to feed four people in one go and it cooks things really nicely in about 15 minutes on a low gas, mark 2 ish. The weakest part of it is the knob on the lid. It's not quite big enough, which makes it quite hard to get hold of. You also HAVE to use a towel to grip it because it gets very hot during cooking. All parts of it clean well : just rinse in cold water.

Very good for such a low price! I have used this steamer for the past month on an almost daily basis and it does the job just fine. I actually find it is better than other steamers I've used because one can tilt and rest the upper levels at about a 30 degree angle to let the water drain away before serving the veg up. Marvellous. No soggy cabbage. I know there are better but this one is a real bargain and perfectly functional.

This steamer feels quite lightweight but appears to be well made out of good quality stainless, the pieces fit together well and look good, the side handles and lid handle are also stainless so therefore heat up during use, this is not a big issue (wear an oven glove or use a cloth), there are no comparable steamers in the price range with insulated handles. Overall a good product that I expect will give many years of service.

This is a good steamer however the base pan is not that deep. I normally boil potatoes in that whilst the veg goes in the top pans, this is not suitable for a larger family if you like your share of mash (we are 2 adults in our house), which takes nothing away from the product it’s just difficult when buying on line to see how big it is. Ordered as a second steamer for Christmas Day so it’s suitable for what I need

Don't waste your money on expensive steamers - this one will do exactly what you need at a fraction of the price. I've had mine for over a month and I use it almost every day. It has gone through the dishwasher every time and has come out clean and undamaged. It's also incredibly lightweight and compact - I'd say it's the perfect size if you're cooking for a family of four.
