I bake crusty bread daily, some I eat and some I gift to neighbours. I had a decent bread knife but still it would on occasion slip on my crusty crusts before 'biting' into the bread.I bought this knife despite the cost (which is immense) and I'm not sure I can explain how good it is. 'Like a knife through butter' is a phrase that comes to mind - this is a knife but my crusty bread is not butter....but it feels like it is under this blade. It cuts on the push and it doesn't so much 'bite' the bread as glide into it, it then continues to glide until the bread is cut. There is no effort required (certainly compared to the battle I would have with my old knife now and again).I can't justify spending this much money but having done so I can say I have no regrets.

There is much pleasure is to be had in the possession and use of an item absolutely fit for its purpose.

Very Sharp.Well made and is ideal for cutting delicate meats aswell.
