What I ordered was a Maxsimafoto version but ended up with this JJC instead. To be honest, rather than start emailing the supplier I checked Maxsimafoto site first and I'm not altogether sure that they actually make/supply their own trigger anyway. Certainly both variants look identical, and since the Maxsimafoto version is advertised for less, I thought it prudent not make an issue out of it. On the basis that this does what I need it to do I'm using it and it works fine. Probably doesn't have the same weight or solidity of more exotic variants but accordingly the price isn't 'heavy' either. Fine for the occasional of use I'll get out of it. Anyway, at the time of writing this, there doesn't seem to be much in the way of reasonable alternatives.Pros: -Light (74g)Easy attachment to camera with thumb wheelGood progressive feel to trigger that easily allows for half-press actionHas a 1/4" threaded socket so that you can attach it to a tripodCons: -Not specifically made for the G6 because you have to run the remote shutter release cable (supplied) from the left hand side of the handle to the right hand side of the G6 body, so one way or another it gets in the way.The location of the lock button means I keep inadvertently pressing it in, which gives me burst shots (which I can do by just holding the trigger in anyway). The lock button is also intended for long exposures, although why you would do this in free-hold I can't imagine. As far as I can see, the lock button doesn't 'lock' the trigger, it is just a secondary button for burst shots and long exposures. You have to press it in again to release it.Overall it's fine with the exception of the cable run and the lock button, which I really don't like, but I got this specifically for video mode on the G6 in order to make for more stable footage and also because you can take single shots while still in video mode and this makes it effortless.

I bought this to use with a large telephoto lens to help keep things steady and balanced. It works extremely well, is very comfortable to hold and I am very pleased with the results. It comes with two leads and it was immediately obvious which lead I should use with my Canon 1200D.I have found that it is easy to inadvertently press the lock button. I solved it by sticking a piece of window foam insulation tape round the button. This may be due to the fact that I am left-handed so others may not have this problem.I have been using this for a couple of weeks now and I would hate to be without it.

I have a Canon EOS 100D, and being left-handed I was unconsciously holding the camera in such a way that my hand kept blocking the light sensor. A friend suggested I get a pistol grip, and although this JCC grip wasn't listed as compatible with the 100D, I took a chance that it would work. I'm pleased to say the chance paid off as it works fine, and the pistol grip solves the problem for me.

For a long long time I've been on the lookout for left-handed cameras, as I have lost the use of my right arm due to a stroke. Now I have a Nikon D3200 on one of these Pistol Grips and it has made photography not only possible but enjoyable.A great bit of gear, and for me it has been a life changer.

This has proved to be an excellent choice for me.Having lost my right arm I have had great difficulty in finding a left handed camera..With this JJC pistol grip the problem is solved. It operates my Sony SAL1855 with no problems what so ever.

Works well with this canon model. Unsure when purchased. Arrived with 2 cables canon equivalent RS - 60E3 & canon RS-80N3. Trigger works exactly the same as shutter release on camera body. Good sturdy construction. Excellent purchase

Prompt delivery, well packed and exactly as advertised. I use with a Manfrotto 361 shoulder brace for hand-held macro and it works a treat. The kit includes both flavours of Canon remote plugs.

I like the ease of use as a disabled user. It means I can concentrate on the picture I am taking rather than where the button is to take the photo.
