If you are thinking about getting a panoramic head, you will understand the parallax issue when taking overlapping pictures for the purpose of creating a panorama. Simplest and cheapest solution is a 200mm Arca compatible nodal rail plus clamp at one end and an Arca clamp on your tripod head. Then you can slide the camera body backwards and forwards on the rail to determine the no parallax point. So why invest in a complex head like the Rollei? In short, it allows more adjustments. With a simple nodal rail, you can't tilt the camera around the vertical axis, you are confined to a single plane. With the Rollei, you can incline the camera through a full 45 degrees (pointing straight ahead to pointing straight upwards). This capability allows you to stitch rows of pictures using, say, a 50mm lens to encompass more of the scene both vertically and horizontally. The build quality of this panoramic head is very good. The various knobs tighten securely ensuring the camera stays where you have set it. Bear in mind, the full weight of the camera plus lens is held in place by a single screw which attaches the camera base plate to Rollei's Arca clamp. In the images above, the camera plus 50mm lens did not sag or droop once set in position. I would recommend sticking with prime lenses so as not to put too much strain on the camera's mounting screw. That said, the Rollei rig is perfectly capable of taking a fair bit of weight. You will, of course, need a decent tripod and, ideally, a levelling bracket to ensure the camera is perfectly level. There's quite a lot of faffing about setting up to take panoramas but the results can be worth it.

I'm a fan of Rollei having already bought their lovely Wireless Remote Release (for Canon) and their astonishingly strong T5S Mark II Ball Head a few months ago. I'm surprised Rollei does not get more reviews but the popularity of the various Chinese knockoffs gets those to rule the roost. It has a recommended maximum load of 3kg, well within the likes of e.g. a Canon 5D Mark IV and Tamron 24-70 F2.8 G2. at just under 2kg. Add the Tamron 70-200 f2.8 G2 and you're still within limits at 2.5kg.As with many panoramic heads you cannot readily have the camera body in landscape aspect rather than upright aspect (not that you'd want to anyway),but numerous L-Brackets are available.Even the storage case is well-made.

In a world of cheap Chinese carp (sic), it's a pleasure to receive a well made functional product that looks like it will last many years. Happy purchaser!

A more in depth user guide would be useful. Set up wasn't as easy as it should be. A tutorial in English would be useful
