Currently attached to a Manfrotto 055XPROB tripod. The Q5 Quick Release suits me as I also shoot video and sticking to the same plate size as my other tripods is useful. If you've not already bought into/own Q5 plates or only shoot stills you might be better off with one of the alternative release plates.I've used Manfrotto gear for the last 5 years, during which time my kit has been dragged all over the world and has taken considerable punishment (mostly unintentional). The build quality of the MH054M0 is excellent, certainly in the same ball park as the more expensive video heads, and it looks fully capable of taking everything I might throw at it.

Moves on every plane with accurate friction control. I prefer having the slide in plate, as you know that it really is not going anywhere, especially if your'e using it on a monopod (I like a 30degree angle with the let and adjust the plane of the camera to compensate). I just never felt comfortable with the quick release heads for this having had a bad experience in the past with a cheaper product. This really is a well constructed quality product that I have given two years to test. Still works as good as new.Highly recommended.

Solid with a great ball!!One twist and it points in the right direction, ready to help you shoot.Whatever size you have, it will fit. But superb with a big'un. like Sigma Big Ma! and beyond.A quick flip and your on the side, perfectly angled, bingo, what a way to go.!Lots of toys to keep you level. Maybe too big for a slinky Mono? But for the legged one's you will score big time.Perfectly engineered to produce ( in the right hands). Enjoy the pleasure!!

As a professional photographer I'm very fussy when it comes to tripod heads, so over the years have pretty much stuck to the Manfrotto range, their quality is second to none. I have though, always used a joystick head in the past but when needing a new head decided to try this one. I'm glad I did as it is far superior in every way, probably the best tripod head I've ever owned. Just buy it, you won't regret it.

Was blown away by the excellent build quality of this item, was a bit nervous about the high price but seeing and holding in my hands I made the right decision. It works well with my Sigma 150-500mm Telephoto lens which weighs about 4lbs. it sits atop my Manfrotto 679B Monopod. Would Highly recommend this item.

Wow! what a great head. After struggling with a tilt and pan head for so long I felt a sturdy ball head would be perfect for my needs as a landcape photographer. The build quality is second to none. It gets me into any nook or cranny and is the perfect compliment to my 055cxpro4 tripod. Wouldn't be without it.

Sexy black ballhead, solid, magnesium. This ballhead sits on 055CXPRO4 tripod, and i must tell you even with D800 gripped + 14-24 F2.8G nikkor i can stop it at any angle and camera is stable. what more i could want. Certainly a purchase worth the money, and this kit will last me years.....

bought it to use on a Sony FS7 camera and large lens on a car mount for car videos. Takes the weight, even at funny angles, absolutely perfectly without flexing so much as 1mm.

Function is almost perfect. Smooth, reliable, solid...It's only disadvantage found s the weight. But in all sense a great head.

Heavy Duty holds my Nikon D3 with either the 300mm f2.8 prime, or the Sigma 50mm-500mm rock steady with no slippage at all.
