I was on the hunt for a tripod that wasn't too expensive as myself and my partner are getting into photography more. Most of the cheaper ones we looked at were flimsy and not likely to last long. Paying a bit more seems to have worked out in this case as I'm chuffed with the tripod it's strong and not heavy and should last for a long time in use.Max weight on this is 1.5KG which is fine for me as I use a few smaller cameras the design is different to some tripods I've used it has an integrated ball head there is no removable plate though which might slow things down. Tightening up is by the exposed part just beneath the plate it's quite easy to get it tightened up with or without gloves on.You have a single wing nut type tightener on the side to lock the ball this has a cut out area for vertical shooting. Quite small folded up 40cm and up to 1.3 metres with the central column extended you can reverse this for low down shots but you can't remove the head. This works well for me if you have a big heavy camera/lenses it's probably not suited to that but for smaller DSLR's and normal lenses or compacts/bridge models it's excellent

I don't why Amazon doesn't separate the reviews for products as there are several options under one listing and I appear to be the only that bought this model with the strange model name.I bought this to replace another Manfrotto which couldn't support my DSLR. This is rated to 4kg and easily holds my 60D and 17-85mm lens. The ballhead has both infinite and friction adjustment - not reading the instructions I didn't know about the friction screw and tried to force the head which has removed some paint - not a huge issue but worth noting. The camera fits by a screw-on plate with quick release catch and hold the camera securely without any lateral movement. With regards to the tripod the legs arelight and lock with a clip like my old one so you can ensure they're all the same length - what it doesn't do is lock the angle of the legs like my old one did so there's still a degree of creep which is disappointing. The centre column is adjustable/reversible and islocked by a wing nut. It's also provided with a good quality travel bag.Overall I'm happy but miss the locking feature my old one had.

Bought this as I wanted a tripod for long-exposure shots and astrophotography, but didn't want to break the bank. This works a treat! Very lightweight for the size and build, yet still rather sturdy and collapses to be quite compact (it fits in my handbag and backpack easily). I use the Sony NEX6, so the weight limit isn't an issue. Height is very adjustable as well. I especially liked the ball head - makes it easy to get just the right view, and allows me to easily change from portrait to landscape. Comes with a handy carry case which was really helpful as I mostly use a tripod for travels. The legs do take a bit of time to deploy and fix, but for the build and price point, I wouldn't complain!Overall,a good handy travel tripod for those with mirrorless systems or entry level DSLRs.

This tripod ticks all the boxes for a lightweight, compact travel tripod but only for the smaller lighter CSC (micro four thirds) cameras. I think it would struggle with bigger heavier cameras. The only downside is that there is no quick release plate but that would add to the weight and bulk, so not a big issue. I expect if you needed it then a 3rd party add on could be purchased. The build quality is excellent, considering its price, and the carry bag is nice and rugged. A pity it doesn't have an adjustable strap but it wasn't an issue for me.

I bought it for traveling and urgent use, it is easy to carry, but cannot be required for professional jobs. Of course there is nothing to complain about because everything is told in specs and descriptions berfore you buy. I tried different camera, in my opinion it supports NONE of the DSLR or campact camera which has a heavy lens or body. It is only suitable for small and light camera or phones. But I still think it is good enough. If it is used well, it still could work with my 2.5kg camera under urgent requirement.

Great small tripod for travelling. Fits in the suitcase and is light which is its main attraction. As with life there are trade-offs, with lightness comes the need to be careful when using it with say a DSLR as its at its limit with this. However if you need to travel light and need the tools to do long exposures then this is the tool you need. Its Manfrotto too so its well engineered and quality gear. Hence the 5 stars.

Very light, very compact and ideal as a travel tripod. I've been using it with a Canon G series bridge camera and it was sturdy enough to produce a stable image from a 10 second exposure in mildly breezy conditions. I'd probably mark it down slightly if I'd been using it to support a DSLR with a large lens but I've got a much heavier Manfrotto tripod for - this one was just fine for the use I wanted to put it to.

Very useful tripod for use with my Nikon 5300. I use it for landscape photography and some very long exposures. One particularly nice feature is that I can reverse the central column and have the camera between the legs. May sound strange but very useful for close up photography. One feature I miss is the ability to pan the camera if I want to take a panorama.

One of the best tripod I've ever purchased. It's light and it's also professional looking. I'm amazed by the high quality of its cover bag! Though I must say, if you are looking for tripod for your DSLR, this might not hold your camera properly. It's only suitable for small cameras.

I have a great sturdy Manfrotto tripod from years ago but just getting back into photography again I really need a ball head for it. Looking at the prices I thought I may as well just buy this instead, though Im guessing the separate heads are built better. Seem ok for my GX80.

Great tripod for the price, great for long hikes not adding much weight to a pack, easily carryable and storeable. Well worth the money! Only downside is it's not bulky enough for those rugged long shoots where you need something with more muscle??

The Manfrotto tripod is light and good to use when travelling. It has good stability and holds well my Nikon D3000. I purchased it for a trip to Asia and it did well when taking pictures on uneven or non-asphalt terrain. Great value for money.

Cheap.Light but not 100% plastic.UPSIDE: Good for small job or for trips. It may fit in most backpacks.DOWNSIDE: It has plastic parts like the "leg-locks". This may take some damage after a few years but I'm hopeful I'll be wrong.

design for point and shoots and stuff but i use my dslr on it. good to have a cheap one laying around that you dont mind beating up a bit. it does its job really well and a good price point for what it is.

I have a Manfrooto Pro and a Gitzo so was under no illusions about what I was buying! This is cheap, cheerful, but still fantastic as a lightweight pod for travel with small gear
