Needed a light weight , rigid travel head to complement a Carbon tri/Mono Pod for a coming Overseas trip ..... turned out to be an excellent choice ... even when pushed with a Sigma 150-500 lens and Body attached ....it performs extremely well for the weight of the head .... "Magnesium Alloy" is definitely the way to go for weight + rigidity .... the bargain was in the price point ..... as this head design being around for a fair while now ..... it's design has been tweaked to it's present form .It's now without doubt the cheapest Magnesium Alloy head out their that out-performs other heads 3 times it's priceAussie Allan

This is an excellent head from Manfrotto, you would of course expect it for the price though. I chose this model as I wanted something that would be very solid but easy to reposition quickly. It is easy to tighten and each of the sections and they can be set to give a little resistance so they can be moved but still be supportive at the same time. You can move the head into virtually any position imaginable.

Item was well packed and arrived on time. This head is ideal for use in outdoor photography. It is light in weight(magnesium) but holds cameraand lens in a stable setting.Much better than using a ball head.Is small in 'footprint' ( doesn't protrude when carrying ).Would thoroughly recommend this item

I prefer a head where you can lock and control each axis separately. This head is perfect for portrait and landscape photography. For the weight it is very stable with smooth operation. I considered a ball head from Manfrotto or Cullmann, but for my use this is better.

This is the head only. No tripod legs. Very very light good weight bearing capabilities. Great for small acurate adjustments particularly landscapes. Did I mention that it's ridiculously light? Great value for money.

Heavy, rock solid stable and easy to use for secure support of a traditional large format camera. Expensive but necessary.
