This is quite frankly cheap as the proverbial chips for what you get. Having just got properly into Manhattans I have tried a few different rye whiskeys. This is brilliant for anything around £20. If you are looking for a 100 proof / 50% cocktail job you will have to look elsewhere for Bottled in Bond efforts, but really this at 40% means you aren't going to fall off your chair after 2 or 3 said Manhattans.Decent dryness from the rye and good mouthfeel. Works well with Carpano Antico vermouth. Cocchi vermouth is lighter and had less of an flavourful impact.Works OK with coke also if you like that sort of thing. Ignore anyone advising Coke Zero / diet Coke or Dr Pepper as a less calorific mixer...ANY sweetener-based fizzy drink just adds a grim chemical taste. Full fat sugary Coke or nothing (or just go Manhattan).

I used to drink bourbon and coke as my standard top-shelf tipple, but started to find it too sweet as I got older (especially popular bourbons like Jack Daniels. I still loved the flavour, just not the sweetness) so I deliberately set out looking for a drier equivalent. This fits the bill perfectly; it’s both drier and spicier than bourbon, so if you happen to be in the same boat I was, this is definitely for you, and at this price I thoroughly recommend it.I also strongly recommend using Dr Pepper as a mixer for this instead of Coca Cola; it has a spicier flavour and only two-thirds of the sugar, which makes it a much better taste match for rye whiskey than normal coke.Add a couple of cubes of ice and you’ve got a great, rather idiosyncratic drink at a bargain price.

I'm normally a single malt fan however with it being holiday season and entertaining friends/family I purchased a bottle of the Jim Beam Rye. I was not regretting this purchase nor were my friends. It only lasted two days whilst my far more single malt bottles were avoided by many for this drink. It's not as sweet as I was expecting which is what you tend to get from the American brands and very easy to drink.I would recommend this for others to try. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

1st thing to know is "do you like Rye whiskey"? It's that pickely spicy tang in regular bourbon / Sour mash whiskey. I love it so really like this whiskey and this style of whiskey. If you're a massive Jessy and find it too harsh then don't buy this. Not quite as good as the bulliet green label but for the price is a stomper of a bottle.Best served straight up with a cube of ice.

Just tried this as I'm always looking to sample a reasonably priced bourbon, if you like it with a kick then it's all yours, I followed it up with Bulleit and the winner is......... Bulleit! It was okay for the price, £20, but if I can get Bulleit or Woodford at a similar price then I always will, even Jim Beam double oaked on the cheap will be preferable. The tasting continues.

This is not a subtle whisky. If on occasion you want a whiskey to put hairs on your chest then this it. It does have some of the typical beam flavour profile maybe a little less sweet, but this is then amped up with lots of peppery spice and leather. Don't get me wrong, this isn't harsh it is very smooth but full flavoured.

Not much more to add than that. At less than £24 including next day delivery (Amazon prime), you really can't get a better rye. There are better Kentucky straight whiskies and better Ryes but expect to pay a lot more for not much better. Not readily available in shops, so Amazon is a good resource for this.

Really nice rye whiskey and in this price range only really bulleit that is any competition.Personally prefer JD rye, but thats just my personal taste and as it's much more expensive, shouldn't dissuade you from giving this very well priced whiskey a go.

Bought this for my son for his birthday, I cannot really review this, as I have not tasted it, but according to my son, it is yet again another wonderful whiskey from Jim Beam, so I would say if you like Jim Beam, you would definitely like this!!

SPICY FLAVOURFULL AN EXCELLENT DRINKYOU COULD SHARE WITH A FEW FRIENDS (BUT BEST TO KEEP TO YOURSELF)A PROPER WHISKEY FOR THOSE WHO HAVE GROWN OUT OF THE JACK DANIELS HYPE AND WANT FLAVOUR AND A MORE REFINED BEVERAGE

Looking for a nice, inexpensive rye. Normally I order Jack Daniels Rye but as the price has increased, I thought I would try Jim Beam’s version. Very nice and smooth. And less expensive. Great value for money.

Not always been the biggest fan of Jim Beam but this was genuinely nice. I have always liked rye whiskey and this, whilst not the best definitely doesn't disappoint, especially for the price.

Bought this as pesent for my son (he is 35). Helped him sample it on Christmas Day. Now I love it and must buy some for myself. Dryer than Bourbon and with a less sweet taste. I prefer it.

Just fantastic. Have been a JD fan mostly, finding Beam a little sweet for my liking. This hits all the right notes. Excellent price will keep me coming back for this time after time.
