This was bought as a present for a best mate. You know the situation. JUST what I wish someone would buy for me. Perfect for any foodie/cookie/eater/host/epicurean. The design is unique and makes you feel nostalgic for family meals round the hearth. On my first invite round for a meal the appearance of this pot, carried by the wooden handle to the table was so warming and the story from food preparation, through cooking and serving beamed on my mate's face and that of his family. Seemed the pot has become a part of the family and since then it has made an appearance at most meal times due to it's versatility. Don't be put off by the price. Design classic. Looks good on the kitchen shelf. This is a heavy top quality pan/pot . Good for stews, currys, one pot meals ect . Not designed for food that you would have to strain, pasta, potatos ect where you need to pick it up and take it to the sink, to hot and heavy for that . I use mine for curries and it cleans up well no staining to the enamal. Came well packaged ect .

I am a huge fan of Iittala, this cast iron pot is divine, very presentable on the eating table as well, this pot is deep enough compared to other cast iron pots such as Le Creuset, the handle of the pot is really original

This is so stylish but please do not be scared to use it for everyday cooking because its really tough. Looks great at the table and I think we will have it forever.

I was given one of these as a wedding present more than 40 years ago. Very modern then. It is still in use and still stylish. Thoroughly recommend it.
