If you're buying these as a present the box they come in is classy so a receiver will be impressed by what appears to be a very heavy and expensive gift. Well packed inside, the mouthpiece arm is detachable and so is the USB cable with its in-line control pad so they can be used as a straight 3.5mm jacked pair of headphones, which is what I did as my first test.Standard Headphone test:Plugged straight into my iPod Classic the first thing I found was that the sound is much louder than through my usual over the ear Sennheisers, I had to tweak the volume down to about 85% of my usual. Also the sound EQ is quite different, the bass is massive so with music you get a very "Boomy",the mids and high end are clear but the mids are quite harsh. With an EQ adjust on the iPod to a preset with less mid they sounded pretty clear to my (old and battered) ears. Noise cancelling is good since unless your ears are gigantic they will be fully covered. I am aware of the other users complaints about the metal band conducting sound to the cans and this is absolutely true so if you think this might be a problem for you, for example you play with your head leaning back against a wall or headboard then I would warn you off. Personally I play while around soft furnishings and had no problem with it and could not hear any slight noises over music or gameplay so I felt unwilling to knock a star off for this. The manufacturer is now factory fitting a dampening kit so they seem to have minimised the issue as much as possible. Personally I like the design, the metal bands make the head band self adjusting and I've never seen that before and they are very comfortable. They go over my ears with no adjustment required.PS4 Use:The 3.5mm jack now plugged into the little control box, the 0.9m cable length is now 3.2m to my PS4 USB socket, plug and play with no issue. Already knowing the sound was great I wanted the hear the Dolby Surround effect. A button on the controller switches between standard stereo and surround and the difference is very noticeable. The stereo field definitely widens and the overall effect does tend toward binaural although whether you hear sounds coming from behind is subjective, personally I rarely do but this setting for for me does give a much more immersive and spacious sound field. A major positive factor is they will fit over a Playstation VR headset and still snugly meet my head due to their wide design. My only other pair that fit over are Panasonic RPHXS400EW and they sound awful, the HyperX sound amazing particularly with the huge bass so they give me a better night time alternative to 7.1 Home Cinema sound. The most expensive pair of headphones I now own, the most solid pair, they do not have a flat EQ in my opinion but they have the response available for you to retune for your own personal tastes. Excellent.

These are brilliant. I bought a custom gaming PC for the new Microsoft Flight Simulator and wanted a good headset for Vatsim flights (online flights with real people acting as air traffic control) - so I needed a decent headset for that.I settled on this because my budget that I'd set aside for the entire PC was maxxed out so thought I'd buy this HyperX headset as a short term solution - and liked the idea that it is a WIRED headset. It has absolutely blown me away!!!!Some people with wireless headsets have spent tons more and are having difficulty with their choices because of odd bugs. For example, on the wireless options if the battery runs out, Flight Simulator can crash to desktop - not ideal! Some people have had issues with their headsets even connecting in the first place... NOT WITH THIS!!PLUG AND PLAY defined. Plugged it in - mic port and headphone port, Windows 10 recognised them instantly and activated them. Within minutes I was using them online on the Flight Sim.I'm using MSFS as an example because there are TONS of sounds - aircraft, environment, traffic and weather related - all important when flying in the real world. This headset gives constant CRYSTAL CLEAR SOUND, a continuous connection AND when using Vatsim - my voice has been crystal clear for everyone else listening with the microphone. The mic also clicks up and deactivated until clicked down to nearer your mouth which is a great feature AND there is a volume slider on the base of the right ear cup too for quick control without having to change volume settings within windows. The sound goes up very high and stays really clear too so don't be worried about that!In terms of build quality / comfort these are so good. Lots of breathable padding meaning I've used them for 3hrs and not had a single issue with comfort. The build quality is amazing for the price too. Sturdy well build headphones that are also light (they're plastic mainly so that is a given) and the ear cups fold in so you can store the headset flush in a drawer when not using them. The wires are REALLY long too so there's no issues with connecting a few metres away and sitting elsewhere - the cable is well over 2.5m long (I haven't measured it but I was able to walk to the other side of my room wearing them!)I'm settled on these now - I'd say they are probably the best headset on the market for price point, sound quality AND build quality. If you're thinking about buying wireless or spending tons of money on some posh high end brand - don't bother. These are really really worth it and very highly recommended by me!

--- Updated 6/11/18 ---Ive previously mentioned that this headset is nothing like what ive previously owned. its actually worked for more than 8 months to a year which was my previous life expectancy for my past 7 or 8 headsets from varying brands. There is nothing overly special with the headset. it has somewhat cheap but sturdy plastic frame decent cushioning on the top headband and perfectly good ear pads that will give you continued comfort for long gaming sessions or in general use case. i wear my headset anywhere from 7 to 16 hours a day while frequently taking them off multiple times within the day.The core and most notable strong point here with the headset is that, and i can reassure you on this.the build quality internally is beyond great. strong solder connections that are durable and wont degrade or detach / snap from frequent build up of heat or smacking the headset around or yanking on the cord etc. Ontop of great sound quality and great bass depth that wont peak out means for the price its pretty dam fantastic. and its also comfortable even with people that have big ears like i do!The only thing i dislike here is that even after nearing 2 years of use. the earpads and the overall rigidity are degrading pretty bad. the headset is so lose fitting now that its a cause of frequent adjustment in the sizing of the headset and the ear pads are flaking off the glued on fake leather like material. nothing particularly wrong with this especially if you compare it to competitors. they all do the same but hyper x has made theirs last the longest in my own experience. The downside is that they dont have replacements that you can order from their shop. which i think is a big L in this situation. you have a good product and you know the earpads are going to crap out first is most cases but dont offer replacements. no one wants to continue wearing a headset when the pads are flaking off crap onto their head and shoulders *no pun intended*overall my score is now a 5/5. but i understand some peoples experiences might vary. if you have an extra £20 or so to spare. look into getting the cloud headsets. bigger drivers and better frequency range for a overall better listening experience and its more comfortable even for bigger ears like i do. and if you find the ear pads are degrading quicker than normal. fear not because they actually have replacement pads for £6 that you can get. so you have that luxury of ordering replacements compared to this, which you would need to order a replacement headset overall.

the positive:- sound (music not only gaming) is excellent. this is why I'm getting the exact same ones again. tried sony, bose, etc. Yes they dont really look like something you'd want to wear outside of the house and they are not comfortable in a plane. but I never care, I use them a lot- good passive noice cancellation. when WFH i have them on my head even with no music on for long periods of time. i get less distractedneutral:i never use the Dolby controls (even though I do some amount of gaming, mostly FPS). Headsets or good even in stereo to place the sounds. dolby functions seem to change soundscape which I dont likeThe bad:- i bought mine 2nd hand and used them for 2 years and they are not very long-living.my biggest gripe, the 3.5mm cable is wired to the headphones. not detachable. the other end has connection issue and I cannot simply replace the cable.I also dont understand why the 3.5mm cable is so short (about 1m long) works from phone in pocket to head, but not on a PC unless you use the USB dongle which is about 2.5m long.If I use it in a breakout box for playing guitar (focusrite etc) I constantly end up pulling things around the table or curse at the wire. When I re-purchase I'll order a 2m 3.5mm extension cable that I'll always use and I guess that will fix my problems with the connector long term- The ear cushions separate. but surprisingly even then it somehow holds together and seals well. UPDATE: HyperX support just confirmed they can be removed/exchanged under warranty. i tried with my old set and indeed they can be removed- the plug-in mic has a connection issue also. at the start of a gaming session I have to push-in the mic so others can hear me. Doesn't fail during session (again after multiple year use)one side (right) speaker is starting to scratch.I bought sony XB headphones with noise-cancellation, which I'll re-sell or use for my phone only (that seems to work ok). but I am going to purchase another set of HyperX Cloud Revolver S to replace my old setOnce you know all the issues you can work around themAll over they are excellent!!!!HyperX if you read this:1. detachable 3.5mm cable at headset2. replaceable cushions or make them last longer. once they separate a little they tear around the entire circle in matter of days.3. you nailed the soundscape (for me at least). frequency response is great! music sounds like it should. amazing punchy bass

These headphones come with a USB sound card and enough cable to sit comfortably at a computer, plus there’s a plug in boom microphone. The large ear cups go around the ear and not on them and, the head band doesn’t need the usual adjustment to get the ear cups in place. Although they looked to be closed back, the ear cups have a series of small holes at the rear. Sound and microphone levels can be adjusted on the supplied USB sound card. The sound card also provides switchable eq. for a flat response, and a small amount of bass or high mids lift. The test setup was:• ASUS MAXIMUS VIII Ranger motherboard running Sonic Studio 2 on Windows 10;• Philips SHB9850NC headphones in wired mode;• AgptekImp music player;• Panasonic television (speech test).Music tracks were:• Lola’s theme – Pete Tong and the Heritage Orchestra;• Pjanoo – Pete Tong and the Heritage Orchestra;• Waiting for The Thunder – Blackberry Smoke;• Subconscious (Erik Kupper remix) – Samantha James;• Higher – Twelve24;• Arms (album) 16 bit FLAC – Bell X1.The headphones were the most comfortable that I’ve used and that includes Philips Fidelio M2. Before listening the headphones were played in for several hours as this always improves the sound from speakers and headphones. Except for the Samantha James track where the Philips had better bass control, the HyperX and Philips headphones performed the same using the Agptek Imp music player through the 3.5mm jack. Using the computer with Sonic Studio for music playback improved the sound further. Speech was checked on BBC’s Line of Duty using the 3.5mm jack, and clarity was excellent with off-camera sounds well placed. Gaming sound was tested by the warfare sound effects in Sonic Studio and they were marginally clearer with the Philips headphones. Switching in the Dolby 7.1 – it switches out the eq. - was about the same as adding surround in Sonic Studio. These are good headphones with the right source. If you have a motherboard or sound card with a good DAC and simulated surround sound, the HyperX USB sound card isn’t going to add anything, and you might be better without it. The price needs to be lower.

Sound Quality: I have to say that they sound fantastic and get very loud, the bass response is also quite strong, if you play with your equaliser settings you can get these sounding amazing. They handle all ranges quite well in my opinion, you won't be disappointed with how they sound.Noise isolation: When listening to music, talking over VOIP or playing games, I cannot hear what's going on around me. So if you're looking to be immersed without any distractions or you have things going on around you that you need to block out, these are great. You can hear what's going on around you if your audio is quiet or nothing is playing, but it's muffled enough to have to remove your headphones to talk to someone in the same room.Mic Quality: The quality of the mic is only just above average. It sounds as good as a HD mobile phone call or a Skype phone call. Also the mic picks up far too much sound from around the room, it is not directional at all. It will pick up any noise around you and it's very difficult to set volume triggers in discord because even though your voice is talking directly into it, the mic picks up noises at the other side of the room just as loud as you are somehow. It can make it a pain for the person/people you are talking to because you either set the trigger too low so they can hear lots of background noise or too high and your voice cuts out often. It's a shame because my previous headset (Plantronics) which fell apart had worse sound quality but the mic was better quality and directional.Comfort: These are really comfortable. They fit perfectly around my ears, I wear glasses and they fit perfectly. The top part is very softly cushioned and again is very comfortable. You can wear these for hours.Overall they're very good headphones and if you are going to use them somewhere with no background noise then the mic won't be a problem at all. I use mine where someone else is watching TV around me and it can cause problems so it depends how much your friends care about background noise.

I was really excited about these headphones. It works straight out the box. With my PS4 I plugged it straight into my controller and every thing worked. If you find that you can't hear you friends chat because the game is too loud go into volume and turn down overall volume. This turns down the volume of the game and not the chat. What I would say is that you don't have the volume and mic volume control or the Dolby Surround 7.1 audio when you connect you headphones to your PS4. If you connect your headphones via the usb port you now have the USB Sound Card Audio Control Box. The manual in the box tells you what all the buttons do but not how they work. I struggled trying to my volume how I liked it.The 3 different equaliser setting where not explained so I did not understand what setting I wanted. Also once you press the Dolby Surround 7.1 audio my sound did change. For a start my friend who I was playing with sounded like she was standing in a cave with terrible echo. The game sound did feel like there was a bit more bass and more atmospheric with full 306' of sound. Because of the echo of my friend I when back to plugging it straight in to my controller which felt a lot better. My friend did say that using the USB control box that my chat volume was low. (My mic volume was turned up full) When I went back to plugging it in to my controller the volume was back to normal and she could hear me perfectly. Star Wars Battelfront is my game of choice, I have no problem of hearing the guy or girl creeping up on me and shooting me in the back. When the fight get intense you do feel like your in the middle of a war. When I play fighter squadron the sound was crisp and had a nice deep feel to it. Nothing sounds better that a Tie Fighter screaming past you.Over all I really like these headphones it would of been nice if the manual was more detailed. My friend as how clear it was and how was the sound. The only way I could put it was "I can hear you fart in you Stormtrooper uniform, its that good"

I use this headset on my PS4 and it is the best headset I’ve ever owned.AUDIOI play a lot of rainbow six which is heavily reliant on audio and it is amazing. It has the perfect amount of bass (not too much, not too little). The volume control is just a small slider on the bottom of the headset, very easy and efficient. Overall the sound can of course be muted with the slider and the highest volume is very loud. At its lowest or highest volume the quality is always amazing.MICThe flip up to mute mic is extremely easy and convenient. The mic quality is very good as well, obviously doesn’t have the sound quality of a £300 mic but if your just using it for in game/party chat etc then it’s perfect.NOISE CANCELLATIONThe noise cancellation doesn’t block out everything but talking, even shouting and other noise is just a really quite muffled sound and will not affect your gameplay and ability to hear.OTHER USEFUL INFOThe ear cups are leather, they don’t come with spares but it’s very unlikely they will get damaged. I bought this headset for my boyfriend last November and since then they have gone through 2 different owners and everything is still in perfect condition. If you are prone to itchy skin I definitely recommend these leather ear cups instead of the softer materials found on other headsets (astros), as over time it can become irritant.I literally wear these everyday, sometimes for over 10 hours and after taking them off I have no pain or discomfort. The headset arrives in good shape for all head sizes, it sits very well and also adjusts very well.I would definitely recommend these over the hyper x cloud models as my experience with them hasn’t been so great. The audio quality was not anywhere near as good, the headset as a whole just wasn’t comfy and not to mention it didn’t even last a month until it was broken.100% recommend this headset for gaming. Better than some £70-£200 headsets for sure.

I received this as a gift from my sister for my (early) birthday and I can assure you that it's worth every damn penny. I normally avoid headphones like this as I've never had good experiences with them but I wanted to take a bit of a risk so I suggested it to my sister. I'm sure you don't want or need to know the backstory so let's dive straight into the pros and cons.Includes: Headset, manual, welcome card, extender & splitter combo.Pros:- Insanely comfortable, headphones adapt to you and so it is perfect.- Sound quality is pretty good, the bass is the strong point.- They cup your ears entirely and I'm quite big.- Very lightweight - after some time, you don't realise it's on at all.- If you wear glasses - IT'S VERY COMFORTABLE.The foam adapts to the glasses and "wraps" around it so it doesn't push them in.- Multi-platform is nice.- Convenient mute option (swivel).- Can fit very big heads - I'm one of them.- Great design and feel.- I believe the 90 degree rotation on the ear-cups help its durability when you put it down.- Delivery is in a box with foam protection.- PLUG AND PLAY BOIS.Cons:- The mic is a bit limited in terms of adjustment - you can bend it very slightly.- Plastic, take this with a grain of salt - it MIGHT not be as sturdy/strong.- If you sweat a lot, it could become a problem - so take care and clean them if you're sweaty!Wildcards:- The wire is quite short. Personally for me, this is great and I don't get tangled up but for some, it may be a problem.- The extender splits the jack into two separate inputs (audio and mic). It might be convenient for some people, it may not for others.- My headset is still very new, so no comments on durability over long periods of time. Conclusion: Buy it, it's worth every damn thing you put in - ESPECIALLY when it's on sale.(my camera is screwed)

This is a good quality gaming headset, it is light weight and has good padding on the ear pieces making ti very comfortable to wear for extended periods. The build quality is very good, connection for me was using the dual 3.5mm jacks for the PC. I don't have a Xbox one or PS4 to test them on so i wont be including these in the review.I play a game called EVE online and this can at times heavily rely on communications, normally out of game, for coordination with another 250 players in the same fleet, also as a social side as well with talking within your alliance and corporation. The sound quality in the headphones is excellent and there is no distortion. The microphone is also very good, everyone i asked what the quality was like for them advised the sound was very clear and there was hardly any background noise meaning i was easily understood. This will most likely be the noise cancellation feature on the microphone.I have tested the headset using Discord, Team Speak and Mumble and have had no issues. The features like mike muting when it goes upwards was interesting for me, this is a good feature but did lead me getting thrown into the AFK (Away From Keyboard) channel in team speak as the mic showed it was muted and they thought i was AFK. Not a great issue really and i do like the feature as on other headsets i have a bad habit of hitting the button muting the mic.Another good feature for carrying them and storage is that the speakers rotate 90 degrees making them flatter which helps with storage. They also come in handy to listen to other things when you are using the headset, just rotating a cup means you can hear other people.Overall i am impressed with them, they are good quality and with them using the 3.5mm jacks frees up a USB slot that i was using for the headset. I would recommend these.

I am writing to review this product having also owned the Turtle Beach 50X headset for a couple of months. To be fair until I tried the Hyper X Cloud stinger I thought my Turtle Beach 50X's were absolutely fine. Now having tried both the extra £20 is so so so worth it.What I love about the Hyper X is comfort & audio quality. From a comfort point of view the extra padding on the headset makes a massive difference after prolonged gaming sessions. The earcups are a lot more comfy also and cover my ears more completely.Audio quality is a massive difference when listening to films or music - the bass is far more responsive, snappy and less tinny.Dont get me wrong until I heard them side by side I the the 50X's were fine but as soon as you have a direct comparison the superior Hyper X's just sound brilliant. Even in game play (I play alot of Rainbow Siege) - I was now able to hear for more distinctly from which way enemy characters were sneaking up on me.Functionally it is also much better. The mic is a solid bar which can be muted by moving to the vertical position. The volume control slider is in the right ear cup rather than having to search for a wheel on the wire. Finally the wire itself on the HyperX is a better quality in terms of feel and thickness. One bonus with the Hyper X headset is that it comes with the Jack connector to split the mic and speaker so you can connect it to a laptop. All in all I thing the £50 for this headset represents great value and if I had the choice again I would pay the extra £20 for the additional form and functionality of th HyperX Cloud Stinger over the Turtle Beach X50's.

I felt obliged to write a review for these headphones. I’ve been on the hunt for a solid pair, trying to marry comfort with the required sound quality. For reference I’m currently playing COD warzone and anyone who plays it will know the importance of hearing footsteps around you and the hum of a supply crate. In the past week I’ve tried both the Turtle Beach Recon 70, which despite boasting good sound quality were uncomfortable for more than an hour of play time. They also were cutting out periodically - less than ideal. Next up was the XBERIA headset, again decent sound quality, but unbelievably hot to wear and I managed no more than 10 minutes or so before taking them off and almost needing to towel my head down. So,my last roll of the dice was these HyperX Cloud Stinger. As you can see from the stars, they have certainly delivered. Fantastic sound, which while quite bass heavy is perfectly pitched for FPS shooters like COD. Speaking of which, footsteps are audible and their direction can be perceived easily, despite not being a surround sound headset. The convenience of the flip up to mute mic and sound control on the right headset is something that is most welcome and incredibly convenient. Last of all and most importantly, comfort. Once adjusted I did not feel the need to move or take off these headphones for about 2 hours. Kingston have really nailed this aspect. It may be that he ability of the cups to rotate helps ease the pressure on the head, but whatever they have done it works big time.Happy to say the search for a headset has ended, highly recommend these.

Here's your honest review... I'm always sceptical about amazon reviews because people can fake it by getting free products or whatever. I received this product for Christmas so I've used it since then. Honestly it is amazing. I use it for speaking to my friends on Discord (it's like skype but we use it for gaming), and I am able to talk to them, play games and listen to music all at once with premium quality. The microphone apparently has excessive sound cancellation, which is unfortunate, but for you maybe this wont be the case in a noisy household. For me it's annoying because my girlfriend sometimes talks to me and my friend cant hear that she is talking and then I'm trying to listen to two people at once.Sound quality:Absolutely perfect for what you're paying for.It does everything you need, but just know that it's not built for listening to bass-heavy music. Its bass is very good, however, but I do not use these headphones when I play around with music creation. The microphone muting function is superb. It would be even better if the mic were detachable. Furthermore the volume slider on the opposite side is so damn useful. The headphones swivel for storage, but is still quite bulky. It does sit comfortably around the neck due to the swivel function, but I tend to rather take them off instead. Just preference.I give this an overall 4* review, where improvements are possible within the range we are paying for the product. If it were priced about £6 lower, it'd get 5 stars for being that price for what I have gotten.

So, I was a bit dismayed by the people who are supposedly reviewing these Headphones. I noticed that they are NOT all reviewing the Hyperx Cloud Revolver S - so beware, look at the review of this product.Anyway, whinge over. I got these nearly a week ago to replace my Steeleseries headphones. I needed them due to the volume button on the old Headphones starting to crackle....annoying. So, I will do some pros and cons of these headphones and leave my final thoughts.Pros : Light WeightComfortableExtremely well put togetherDolby 7.1 SimulatedNo drivers for Windows 10 (which I use them on) so plug and play.Sound Quality is really top notchLead is hugeCons: Price is overly expensiveWould be nice to have some noise cancelling through HeadphonesWeighty volume control, can annoy getting in the way.Picks up wind noise, a lot, when I have my desk fan onDolby 7.1 isn't the bestThe Stereo presets are, um, not great either.Final thoughts. Would I buy these again, knowing how much they are? Hmmm, that's a tough one, probably not. However, when / if they drop to sub £100, they would definitely be well worth the money. Could have done with a couple of replacement ear pieces for the price. I have only had them a week and am really enjoying them. The sound is top notch for Gaming - I play Planetside 2 and Guild Wars 2 - so quite varied. The first time I used them I thought the sound in GW2 was awesome with the Dolby 7.1. I also listen to a huge and varied amount of music from Heavy Metal to Trance. All sound excellent.

Honestly amazing headphones. I bought 1 last year and it broke in a couple weeks but it was because i was dumb but got a new one very fast for free, and these have lasted since. They feel so amazing. (THIS IS IMPORTANT) If you have a small head. They might not be the best headphones for you. I mainly love them because the ear cups go all around my ears and fit perfectly on my head. I got pretty big ears. They just feel amazing. I bought recently arctic pro wireless, and i used them constantly for 2 weeks and they were just no where near as good as these. Even tho they are 200 pounds more expensive. These are around 90 pounds and arctic pros were 300.Now for gaming. They are amazing. The surround sound is amazing. The different modes are good but i don't really use them unless i'm listening to music. Really good highs, base and mids. If you game and listen to music they are amazing. If you are a massive music junkie then i would recommend something different then these but nothing i have tried are as good as these accept maybe the hyper x cloud 2s. If you have smaller ears and smaller head then go for the hyper x clouds 2s. they are much more branded and made for the typical person. These are more people with bigger heads then the norm.ya they are just amazing. and for around 90 quid i picked them up for. They are so amazing its unreal. For music they are on par with the Microsoft wireless headset and they are made for music. Obviously they are a little bit worse but for 150+ less. Its so worth it.
